T.J. Miller’s HBO Hour Long Special “Meticulously Ridiculous” Premieres Tonight
T.J. Miller is one of a handful of comedians that are expertly skilled in the art of controlled chaos. Tonight, Miller will be exhibiting said expertise in his brand new HBO special in the very appropriately titled, Meticulously Ridiculous.
You can see a bit of what we’re talking about in this preview clip. Also, take note and appreciate that T.J. has been laboriously honing how to drench himself in water for quite some time now.
Catch the premiere of Meticulously Ridiculous at 10PM on HBO tonight.
On one level, Stories From Both Shoulders at The Comedy Central Stage (6539 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA) will be a night of some of LA’s best storytellers, Brian Finkelstein, Buck Ball, and Scott Schultz.
On another level, it’ll be a fun night where you’ll hear a story, as suggested by the show’s name, that will span the spectrum of being “good and, well, not so good”.
The show is at 8PM on Wednesday, June 21st. Tickets are free, but you do have to RSVP for them here.

Tom Papa Preaches That You’re OK in His Latest Conan Set
If you’ve needed an emotional or spiritual pick me up in the form of a stand-up set because you’re feeling like you’re not being your “best self”, let Tom Papa assure you that you’re probably OK.
It’s the core philosophy of his latest appearance on Conan. Please enjoy and feel alright about being OK here.
At this point in time, you’ve probably heard how divided we are as a country ad nauseam over POTUS, healthcare, gun control, etc.
A nice solution or reprieve from that might be hear to comedians debate things that do not matter whatsoever like Dr. Dre vs. Dr. Seuss.
That is what the traveling comedy show and podcast Arguments & Grievances brings to the table and will be doing so next week at Nerdmelt with some of LA’s best.
Get your tickets here.

Judd Apatow to Tape a Stand Up Special at JFL Montreal
Judd Apatow to Tape a Stand Up Special at JFL Montreal
Before he became a big time writer/director/producer, Judd Apatow had enveloped himself in comedy through stand-up. It makes sense for someone who was one of the biggest comedy nerds ever (he scored interviews with the biggest comedians of his time while he was in high school) well before podcasts or YouTube was around.
Having gotten tapped for writing and producing gigs like The Larry Sanders Show, Apatow’s stand-up then rested on the backburner for several years.
After carving out a niche as a Hollywood power player, especially in regards to comedy, Apatow returned to stand-up a few years ago, performing regularly all throughout LA’s most respected venues (Largo, Improv, etc.).
So, as he has a comedy series on Netflix, Love, he has been sharpening his stand-up over the last few years, and Netflix loves making big time comedy specials now, this special was inevitable.
If you like to see it live, it tapes at JFL Montreal on July 24th.
Eddie Izzard’s Memoir “Believe Me: a memoir of love, death, and jazz chickens” Is Out Now

On top of being a world renowned comedian that can perform stand-up to sold out theaters in several different languages and celebrated actor and writer, Eddie Izzard has run more marathons than you can count on two hands, is a political activist, and has been an associate director of a football club just to name of a few other things that Eddie juggles in his “spare time”.
Sounds like a life that would make for a hell of a memoir, no?
Well, Izzard’s memoir Believe Me: a memoir of love, death, and jazz chickens has just been released from Penguin Random House.
You can get in hard cover, Ebook, or audio now.
Watch Trailer for Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon’s Latest “The Trip to Spain”
Though the idea of two funny people doing voices and riffing while heavenly food and visiting gorgeous locales might not sound like the foundation for a film franchise, that’s pretty much what Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, and writer/director Michael Winterbottom have done with “The Trip” and it seems like that there are very few reasons why the franchise couldn’t just keep going.
They’ve gone to Greece and Italy, and now they’re going to Spain carrying all their antics with them.
See for yourself in the trailer for The Trip to Spain.
A U.S. release date has yet to be announced.
The amazing, musically fueled Australian comedy trio known as Aunty Donna are returning to Largo for two shows next week.
Specifically, you can catch them on Monday, June 19th and Tuesday, June 20th, both at 8PM.
Tickets are $30 and you can (and should) get them here and here, respectively.
One of Our Favorite Venues in LA, The Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe, Needs Help Via Indiegogo
One of Our Favorite Venues in LA, The Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe, Needs Help Via Indiegogo

We spend a good deal of time at The Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe as some of the best, most innovative shows in town often happen there (Dr. Brown, Natalie Palamides, Modern Vaudeville, Feel Good Podcast, Underbelly, etc.) as well as a healthy round of open mics that have really fostered a community within theater itself.
Recently, they’re in urgent need of repairs to the theater and are crowdfunding in order to cover the cost of said repairs.
Please consider helping them so they can continue putting on their amazing shows and continue to grow.

You can go down a rabbit hole looking at all her nifty past work on her Tumblr and Instagram until then.
The Full Trailer for “Friends From College” Promises a Reunion That’s Pretty Much Non-Stop Chaos
Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco’s Netflix series, Friends From College looks like it could have been a movie where old friends have one disastrous weekend.
Yet, as it is a series, there’s plenty more twist and turns that they can play with on top of having a fantastic cast of Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, Nat Faxon, Fred Savage, Jae Suh, and Annie Parisse.
See for yourself in the full length trailer.
Then, look for Friends From College to start streaming on Netflix on a month from now on Friday, July 14th.
The Daily Show’s “Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library” Pop-Up Exhibition Happening This Weekend in NYC
This weekend, a whole pop-up museum dedicated to examining POTUS’ Twitter account will open in NYC thanks to The Daily Show at 3 West 57th Street near Fifth Avenue.
You’ll be able to tweet from a golden toilet, watch a montage of what Trump thinks is “Sad!”, hear stories of people who got into a Twitter fight with Trump, and other such exhibits that would normally exist in museum, but focused completely on @realdonaldtrump on Twitter. While this is all done in the name of continuing to send up Trump and the absurdity of his administration, his tweets are, unfortunately, are and will forever be important to the historical record.
You’ll be able to check it out, free of charge, from 11AM-7PM, Friday, June 16th-Sunday, June 18th.
For one night only, Paul Mooney will be headlining The Comedy Store. No need for further explanation.
Tickets are $35-$50 plus a 2 drink minimum.

‘Broad City’ Will Bleep Every Mention of Donald Trump’s Name for Season 4
‘Broad City’ Will Bleep Every Mention of Donald Trump’s Name for Season 4
According to a recent USA Today interview, Ilana Glazer says that every time they mention Trump’s name in season 4 of Broad City, it’ll be bleeped just like the myriad of graphic language that is flagged by Standards and Practices or like the recurring Unnecessary Censorship segment on Kimmel or even, in a way, be regarded like the name Voldemort.
It wouldn’t be hard to imagine that every mention of Trump’s name on Broad City is probably surrounded with actual expletives as well.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to Return for a 4th Season at Netflix
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to Return for a 4th Season at Netflix
If The Get Down and Sense 8 getting the ax over at Netflix had you worried about Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (though with the show’s individual success, we’re confident that you probably weren’t all that worried), fret not.
A season 4 just got the greenlight at the streaming service giant and the most cheery color palate in comedy will continue for at least a couple more years.
Rory Scovel Shows Off His “Piano Skills” on Conan
Just like Rory will be “trying stand-up for the first time” in his upcoming Netflix special, Rory also “knows” how to “play piano”.
Enjoy him giving a sample of how well he can play the keys on last night’s Conan.
Dave Chappelle Will Be Doing Another Residency at Radio City Music Hall Featuring The Roots, Chris Rock, Trevor Noah, Ali Wong, Erykah Badu, and Childish Gambino
In 2014, Dave Chappelle did a whole run of shows at the legendary Radio City Music Hall featuring guests like The Roots.
That seemed to go pretty well.
So, Dave is doing it again this August with plenty of the aforementioned big name guests. Tickets for this residency will go on sale this Friday.
Please Enjoy “Oh, Hello on Broadway” Now Streaming on Netflix

Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland’s/Nick Kroll and John Mulaney’s full-length stage show, Oh, Hello on Broadway might just be the unapologetically silly, satirical love letter to Broadway that you need right now.
Every convention of Broadway and theater gets delightfully picked apart by the duo for well over an hour in every way imaginable. Even if you don’t know all the NYC or Broadway references, there’s something undeniably magnetic about the fully realized personas of Faizon and St. Geegland and their endless self-aware tomfoolery.
Also, Steve Martin is their guest for this night that was taped as a special.
Sounds pretty swell, huh? Well, go watch it on Netflix as soon as you can then.
Revered punk label Fat Wreck Chords is throwing a comedy show, their first one in fact, this Wednesday night. Appropriately called Fat Calm Eddie, the show will go down at The Lost Room in Echo Park (1538 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA) and really does feature some of the funniest people that LA has to offer.
It doesn’t get much more Echo Park, and we mean that in the best way possible, than this.
Get more details here.
