Recently, PBS put out a series of promos for their channel that perfectly satirized reality TV as a whole. In fact, they’re so good that, as they suggest, you think they’re real shows. Even after we’ve told you they’re real, you’ll still think while watching them, “That’s not a real show?”

In this music video, wonderful musical comedian Rachel Bloom essentially gives a great PSA about the lyrics of today’s hit songs that send the message that we should all want to die when we’re young and what that would really be like.

There have been a lot of parodies of Lena Dunham’s Girls ever since the first trailer dropped. However, writer/director Gail Lerner did her take on Girls going 38 seasons, which is longer than The Simpsons, with the likes of Laraine Newman and Martin Starr and it’s both pretty spot on and pretty great.

Eric Martin has put together quite the parody of This American Life for quite some time and recently has made it into a web series. This episode of “This American Wife” delves into the burgeoning world of dubstep done sans digital instruments with the very funny Thomas Middleditch, which is probably a really serious thing.
Watch The Finale of Season 3 of Burning Love
It’s been a whirlwind for the reality tv dating show parody Burning Love from a single season online to concurrently airing episodes of different seasons online and on TV.
Now, they’ve just posted their finale to season 3 and we hope they can keep this up or maybe make a spot on parody of Survivor.
Peter Serafinowicz, who hopefully you already know of or just saw at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, just “uncovered” this video of an alien face’s fantastic mission to build androids on earth. Be forewarned of what may come, even if it’s Monty Python-esque replicants.
Following 4/20, “Greenboy, Prescription for Death” a parody on the classic procedural series Dragnet as related to the dangers of weed not only features a cast of hilarious people both on an off screen (Mike Upchurch, Frank Conniff, Chris Fairbanks, Johnny Pemberton, Tom Kenny, Emily Maya Mills, Lizzy Cooperman, Josh Fadem, and more), but is a hilarious pilot presentation by Mike Upchurch that should definitely get looked at by more eyes.
Give a watch now and watch out for those marijuana cigarettes.
In this latest edition of the hilarious Batman parody by Front Page Films‘ Pete Holmes, Matt McCarthy, and Oren Brimer for College Humor, Batman goes against a Penguin played by special guest Patton Oswalt.

Parodying and putting your own spin on viral videos/memes is often times tedious and the off the mark. However, The Midnight Show does an amazing job of doing “deleted scenes” from this golden oldie of a viral video (can we say that about viral videos yet?) the worst movie death ever.
Watch this now and you might forget about the original bad movie scene it’s based on.

4) So Kristen Wiig is the voice of Babs in this slightly disturbing reboot of Looney Tunes on Cartoon Network and will produce and star in a suicide themed comedy that focuses on a woman who fakes suicide to gain the attention of an ex-boyfriend. We like this dark comedy streak by Wiig and hope it continues.
5) Remember when David Lynch used to do the daily weather? We’re surprised Lynch didn’t go the route of Rick Shapiro and his frequently posted and out of order Morning Meditations from Our Lady of No Thought Depot.
6) One of the more important things to note about GQ’s current “comedy” issue out on magazine racks now is that no one would know if it’s an issue about comedy if GQ didn’t tell anybody.

Roommating Episode 4 – Porn
Joel introduces Erin to pornography.
I never really liked porn.
Ok, sometimes I watch it.
But….I like this episode because it allows Joel and I to explore the viewing preferences of men and women when it comes to pornography or borderline pornography.
What we didn’t touch on is the bigger issue – how pornography has changed the way men and women have sex in the last 25 years. For example, I doubt in the 60’s I would have felt pressure to say to my lover “come in my face” or “all over my tits” or “i’m your dick hole, use me”.*
I’m not sure what to believe when I read studies about how porn has created hyper-sexual men. But it is interesting that, even in the 90’s, the most porn young kids had access to was watching “Real Sex” (or hearing “Real Sex” and watching static), and now they have access to hours of fisting, shrimping, golden showers, scatting, feet fucking, heavy S&M, women fucking machines, and of course, and stuff where the consent of the people involved is questionable.
* I’ve only said one of these.
Discovering porn will probably be a lot like this for me.
