american, bill hicks, comedy awards, comedy central, comedy crawl, comedy news, los angeles, morning debriefing, norm macdonald, open mic run, sports show, tip of the hat

1) As the Comedy Awards already happened and we already know who won, I’d say watch the premiere of Norm MacDonald’s Sports Show at 10:30PM April 12th first, but the Comedy Awards are chronologically on first at 9PM, so just watch both on Comedy Central.

2) You probably already suspected that American: The Bill Hicks Story was going to be reviewed like this, but it’s nice to actually read it in reality. [via PopcornBiz]

1) Rolling Stone’s got a pretty good podcast list.  With The Pod F. Tompkast, WTF! w/Marc Maron, The Nerdist, The Smartest Man in the World w/Greg Proops, Comedy Death Ray Radio, and more that we all should probably listen to, Rolling Stone almost makes up for the garbage “Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” list they put out every year.

2) Jay Larson’s CD taping is TONIGHT at 8PM and you can still bypass the general cover fee with promo code: LARSON.  Along with performances from Pete Holmes, Melissa Villasenor, and Al Jackson, don’t miss a chance to laugh until your head will almost fall off and a chance for your laugh to be recorded forever.

3) Besides already knowing who won the upcoming Comedy Awards airing Sun. Apr. 10th, find out more with interviews from Tony Sam and Kate Riley at HahaJK.com-Red Carpet–Chloe Moretz–sketch duo briTANick.

4) Last night was a good night Late Night TV: Norm MacDonald on Kimmel Part 1–Part 2 & Don Rickles on Letterman & Marc Maron on Ferguson.

1) LA Comedy invaded your TV last night:
Brent Weinbach on Lopez Tonight killin’ it.
Mo Mandel on Conan killin’ it.
Norm MacDonald gettin into a Twitter fight with Steve Martin on Letterman and killin’ it.

2) Don’t let 522 (last checked when I linked this) people down, help Garfunkel and Oates get on Conan via this Facebook page. (The Comedy Bureau doesn’t guarantee this is a way to get the girls on Conan, but it won’t hurt so just go ahead and do it)

3) Marc Maron Interview on Serial Optimist.  All Serial Optimist interviews are top notch, which makes this one an absolute read.

4) John Oliver’s NY Stand Up Show. Midnight. Comedy Central. Maria Bamford. Moshe Kasher. That’s it.  Well… don’t forget to watch it!

5) Tonight at Gallery 1988 7PM, “Is This Thing On?” debuts scores of artists and their take on some of the most prolific and popular comedians of the current moment (i.e. there’s a painting of Louis CK as a zombie.)

6) Marc Maron and the WTF Podcast was just featured in the New York Times yesterday, which people hopefully don’t attach to the simultaneous death of hundreds of birds just a few days ago like my Dad does (Dad’s opinion of Maron “He seems angry. Hmmmm.”)  Just read it.  It’s important.

7) The Comedy Bureau “Tips Its Hat” today to SHAWN PEARLMAN “@shawnpearlman It’s 10PM. Do you know where my watch is?” Shawn has some of the best, sharpest one liners in Los Angeles and you shouldn’t miss a chance to catch his cleverness. Website. Twitter. Check back at the Comedy Bureau for upcoming dates.

8) From the “You Should Have Been There” Lagoon: Josh Fadem Stand Up Pratfalls

9) Donate to the Comedy Bureau. That is… if you ever want to laugh again. (*note: I have no ability to make people incapable of laughter).

10) I’m on a show tonight that has a theme of “Happily Ever After”.  The fact that I’m on a show with that theme is hilarious.
