Jeffrey Tambor Will Officially No Longer Be Part of ‘Transparent’

Following the internal investigation at Amazon of harassment claims against Tambor, Jill Soloway and Amazon have decided that Tambor’s behavior “could could not be justified or excused under scrutiny,” in a statement to Deadline. Thus, they have decided to sever ties between him and Transparent, the award winning series of which he plays the lead role of Maura Pfefferman.

This is a sign that #MeToo is far from slowing down and the idea that sexual harassment, misbehavior, misconduct, assault, etc. will now have actionable and immediate consequences.

The fate of the show itself has yet to be officially determined, but if they could pull off replacing Kevin Spacey in All The Money in the World with Christopher Plummer, then we’re sure they’ll be able to figure something out.

Key & Peele got a proper send-off for the final season with this Emmy win and what might be talked about as one of Louie Anderson’s best performances of his career in Baskets as the mother nabbed him a statue as well. Transparent, seemingly one of the crown jewels of Amazon’s programming line-up, is about to get into its third season after its first two were groundbreaking, accolade-filled, and awards-decorated.

The trailer for season 3 shows no signs of slowing down in Jill Soloway’s that expertly paints with all the colors and simultaneously putting a lens on changing the idea of what gender and sexuality can be.

Look for the season 3 of Transparent to start streaming on Amazon Prime on Friday, September 23rd.

As campaigning for The Emmys is heating up, The Hollywood Reporter is doing another round of their great, in-depth roundtable discussions.

Their latest brought together comedy actors that are Emmys contenders, which includes…

Jeffrey Tambor…

…Aziz Ansari…

…Jerrod Carmichael…

…Rob Lowe…

…Tony Hale…

…and Keegan Michael Key.

They touch on anything from representation of minorities to the most embarrassing moments, which Rob Lowe probably takes the cake with his dark secret (it’ll probably come up during his roast).

Earlier this year, we reported on an enticing R-rated animated feature in the works called The Adventures of Drunky that follows a bet for the fate of the planet between God and The Devil and a drunk.

From top billing to cameos, the cast is stellar including Sam Rockwell, Steve Coogan, Jeffrey Tambor, Dave Attell, Tyler The Creator, Abby Elliott, John Leguizamo, Jon Glaser, Jay Pharoah, Noel Wells, and James Adomian.

Sounds pretty great, right?

Well, Augenblick Studios has the script done and the dialogue recorded, but need funds to finish animating the whole thing. Thus, an Indiegogo campaign was born.

So far, they’ve raised $27,331 at the time of this post out of their minimum $100K goal. That will get them through the next step of production, but they’re looking to raise $2 million to finish the entire movie. They have just over three weeks to reach their goal and have fabulous rewards at various donations levels including lunch with Jeffrey Tambor, a personal insult voicemail from Dave Attell, digital copy of the movie and more.

Here’s God, as voiced by Jeffrey Tambor, and director Aaron Augenblick filling you in on all the details.

You can (and should) donate here.

Of the three wins for comedy at The SAG Awards this year, two went to Orange Is The New Black.

Transparent’s Jeffrey Tambor did take home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. Yet, Uzo Aduba nabbed Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series and the whole cast of Orange Is The New Black took home the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Take note how both series stream exclusively online and beat out all linear TV comedy series.

Oh, we should mention that Sam Rockwell, Jeffrey Tambor, and Steve Coogan are the starring voice talents.

In addition to that, the movie will also feature the likes of Dave Attell, Tyler The Creator, Abby Elliott, John Leguizamo, Jon Glaser, Jay Pharoah, Noel Wells, and James Adomian amongst others and comes from the bonkers (in a good way) animation studio that brought you Wonder Showzen, Augenblick Studios.

All of those elements plugged into a story that has God, the Devil, and a drunk betting for the fate of the planet and all those living on it has us on board.

One could almost make a sub genre out of dark buddy road trip comedies just from the 21st century. We haven’t checked Netflix, so maybe that is a genre. If not, Jess Weixler and Jennifer Prediger’s Apartment Troubles would be a good example of said genre according to this trailer.

Weixler and Prediger star as the two roommates that go LA or bust in trying to make it in “the biz” and also features a supporting cast of Jeffrey Tambor, Will Forte, and Megan Mullally.

You can watch Apartment Troubles in theaters on Mar. 27th or you can watch it right now off of iTunes.
