Waking up from a coma after a long period of time, many years in fact can be jarring. Though a fictional depiction of someone waking up from a coma needs an update for these days rather than relying on something like While You Were Sleeping.

One of our favorite sketch groups around, WomenComedy (Dave Ross, Jake Weisman, Allen Strickland Williams, and Pat Bishop), is now moving up to the next level, or as they’re saying, “selling out” by going to IFC.com to make their uber-absurdist sketches.
It’s so easy to fall into the phenomenon known as road rage. Another car doing anything that’s the least bit unexpected could potentially throw you into a tirade of bigotry and threats. In fact, it’s such a cavalcade of hate speech, it’s kind of amazing that most people can string that many derogatory words into coherent thoughts.
The reenactments bleeding into the drunkenness of the storyteller along with Rich Fulcher as Waring and Jack Black as Orson Welles are priceless in these clips.
Going from here in LA all the way to Seattle, WA, the very funny Dave Ross and Barbara Gray are going out on tour along the West Coast for the first two weeks in August.
We highly suggest that you see any stop of this Him & Her Tour if you can and the Him & Her Tour would like you to know that Dave and Barbara are indeed two close friends that are not having sex.
This spring, Dave Ross is coming to a city near you to perform stand-up. Seriously, he’s playing 42 different cities. You’re probably near one of them, so you’ll probably have a chance to see him from April through to the end of May and we highly recommend doing that because Dave is pretty damn funny.
As we announced earlier this week, Dave Ross, creator of the wonderful live show Holy Fuck, is going to have a Nerdist podcast. Terrified will start next week on Wed. July 10th featuring both Dave and a guest talking about what terrifies them, which, especially knowing Dave’s comedy will make for something really great.
Though it’s sad to see one of LA’s best comedy shows come to an end in Holy Fuck, the show’s creator, the very funny Dave Ross, already has his next big project lined up with a Nerdist podcast.
Revealed last night at Holy Fuck’s final show, ‘Terrified’ will be a podcast wherein Dave will host and guests will likely talk, as the show’s title suggests, about what terrifies them. It starts up next week and we’re really looking forward to it as what terrifies comedians is a lot of where great comedy comes from.
Two of LA’s up and coming comedians Matt Ingebretson and Dave Ross are both vastly inexperienced in fighting as well as fencing. That’s why they did a video where they do exactly that and consequently why we’re posting it as it’s pretty damn funny.
If you don’t know comedian Dave Ross who has made his way through the ranks of LA comedy scene, we hope this Moth Grandslam winning story about tripping on acid in one of the last places you want to trip on acid will make you remember the name and want to see him live.
A monthly storytelling show at Stories-Books and Cafe, Two Headed Beast, was started by the very funny Dave Ross and Jake Weisman that we very much enjoy attending as much as we can. Here’s a nice little documentary behind the show and how great it is to see comedians, writers, interesting people tell stories in the patio of a book store in Echo Park.
We’re also sad that Everything had to come to an end.
3) Our good friends over at RE:COM Magazine have come out with their latest issue, which we have indeed posted about, but needs to be heard about more in any way possible. It’s really that great and insightful and full of articles about the cutting edge of comedy and yes, we have a piece in there too. Buy one or download a digital copy.
7) Laughspin posted a list of the 11 of the funniest stories told by comedians today and while it’s a solid list, we feel the likes of Sean Patton, Kumail Nanjiani, Margot Leitman, Pete Holmes, Moshe Kasher, Marc Maron, and Giulia Rozzi were left out. Also, who could forget the Paul F. Tompkins legendary story about meeting the smallest man in the world Michu on his album Impersonal.

12) Watched 3 comedy shows back to back to back on Saturday. Yeah, I’m not doing that for awhile.
1) Emmy nominations came out today and Louis C.K. is nominated four times (apparently he edited his own special, Hilarious.), Conan got nominated while Leno did not, Modern Family gets plenty of love (in Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, they take 4 of the six nominations), and Futurama gets a couple a nods.
3) Paul Scheer leads the way with National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego:: Sports Utility Vehicle or NTSF:SD:SUV premieres on Adult Swim next week! Saw a preview at Scheer and Rob Hubel’s live show Crash Test and it was hilarious. Check out the teaser now, then watch it on Adult Swim next Thursday July 21st.
5) If you feel like truly staying in because you want to catch Louie on FX at 10:30PM, don’t forget to catch the premiere of the 2nd Season of the Green Room with Paul Provenza on Showtime 11PM AND the legendary Don Rickles will be making an appearance on the Tonight Show on NBC 11:35PM.
