Women Comedy Have Their Version of “Sex Education”

April 7, 2015

It’s probably more informative than what a lot of your parents told you.

Women Comedy’s new video shows what we’ve all probably been missing when it comes to sex education and life in general really.

Watch and learn that the birds and bees is a bunch of nonsense.

Women Comedy continue to spread their much needed brand of comedy at every corner of the web.

First it was just their YouTube channel, then IFC, then Funny or Die, and now, Dave/Jake/Allen/Pat are at Comedy Central’s CC:Studios.

Just watch why they’re at Comedy Central’s digital arm with this first sketch entitled “God’s Vagina”.

What Waking Up From a Coma in 2015 Is Like According to Women Comedy

Waking up from a coma after a long period of time, many years in fact can be jarring. Though a fictional depiction of someone waking up from a coma needs an update for these days rather than relying on something like While You Were Sleeping.

With that in mind, Women Comedy present a present day “100% real” reenactment of waking from a coma is like in 2015.

Women Comedy continue their run at IFC’s Comedy Crib with a new video that shows what we’re all really thinking when we’re discussing a book at a book club we’ve joined. (spoiler alert: not books)

Enjoy this sketch with great cameos from Jamie Lee, Eliza Skinner, Matt Ingebretson and then really question why you even read books in the first place.

Fortunately, you can just watch this sketch because you there’s no choice otherwise here.

One of our favorite sketch groups around, Women Comedy (Dave Ross, Jake Weisman, Allen Strickland Williams, and Pat Bishop), is now moving up to the next level, or as they’re saying, “selling out” by going to IFC.com to make their uber-absurdist sketches.

Women’s Jake Weisman says to start looking out for new videos at IFC starting tomorrow.

In the meantime, you can get caught up with their YouTube channel as well as their darkly satirical Twitter account.

Go to this if you can and buy it when it comes out.

The Simple Solution to Road Rage as Demonstrated by Women Comedy

allen strickland williams, dave ross, jake weisman, pat bishop, road rage, sketch, women comedy

It’s so easy to fall into the phenomenon known as road rage. Another car doing anything that’s the least bit unexpected could potentially throw you into a tirade of bigotry and threats. In fact, it’s such a cavalcade of hate speech, it’s kind of amazing that most people can string that many derogatory words into coherent thoughts.

Sketch group Women has a very simple solution for that. Watch it here.

The reenactments bleeding into the drunkenness of the storyteller along with Rich Fulcher as Waring and Jack Black as Orson Welles are priceless in these clips.

Dave Ross Is Going on Nationwide Tour

This spring, Dave Ross is coming to a city near you to perform stand-up. Seriously, he’s playing 42 different cities. You’re probably near one of them, so you’ll probably have a chance to see him from April through to the end of May and we highly recommend doing that because Dave is pretty damn funny.

For you Angelenos, you’ll be happy to know he’s also headlining the Hollywood Improv at the end of it.

Though it’s sad to see one of LA’s best comedy shows come to an end in Holy Fuck, the show’s creator, the very funny Dave Ross, already has his next big project lined up with a Nerdist podcast.

Revealed last night at Holy Fuck’s final show, ‘Terrified’ will be a podcast wherein Dave will host and guests will likely talk, as the show’s title suggests, about what terrifies them. It starts up next week and we’re really looking forward to it as what terrifies comedians is a lot of where great comedy comes from.

1) MTV’s scripted horror-comedy series Death Valley premieres tonight and definitely shows some promise and a welcome spin on the “emo-monster genre” that has dominated entertainment over the last 5 years. Let’s give it a chance and watch (10:30PM MTV).

Buy one or download a digital copy.

4) Well, that’s just wonderful.

6) The Laughter Against the Machine Tour with W. Kamau Bell, Janine Brito, and Nato Green only has 11 days left to reach their Kickstarter goal. If you don’t have money to donate, you can always tell others that do.

7) Laughspin posted a list of the 11 of the funniest stories told by comedians today and while it’s a solid list, we feel the likes of Sean Patton, Kumail Nanjiani, Margot Leitman, Pete Holmes, Moshe Kasher, Marc Maron, and Giulia Rozzi were left out. Also, who could forget the Paul F. Tompkins legendary story about meeting the smallest man in the world Michu on his album Impersonal.
