Pick of the Day: Tomorrow! with Ron Lynch 16th Anniversary Jam! (IG Live) 7/24

For 16 years, Tomorrow! has been the thing to do on Saturday night at midnight in LA. For so many years, longer than we’ve been doing or covering comedy, Ron Lynch has faithfully brought the perfect mix of absurdity, silliness, beauty, and honesty that’s worth keeping the night going that late.

Of course, for the last year, they haven’t been able to do that in a proper venue and Lynch company have taken to Instagram Live to keep the Tomorrow! flame going and indeed they have kept the show alive and kicking for all these months since whenever March 2020 was (that was a decade ago, right?).

To mark their 16 year anniversary, Ron will be bringing back the original trio, himself, Craig Anton, and Brendon Small, that started off this midnight institution as well as such luminary comedians as Dana Gould, Laura Kightlinger, and Brent Weinbach. Very likely, they’ll have more than just that to celebrate the occasion (in addition to the “Core Four” and Michael Mortilla).

These days, it ought to be something really special if you’re going to tune into an IG Live show, but the 16 Year Anniversary of Tomorrow! with Ron Lynch more than fits that bill. Tune in at Sat. Jul. 24th at 11PM PT/2AM ET on IG Live @ronlynch1 and support the show on Venmo @tomorrowshow.

Best of all, you won’t have to worry about the Delta variant!

Pick of the Day: Tomorrow with Ron Lynch 15th Anniversary

You’ve seen that many annual, big time, tent pole events are opting to go virtual because of the global pandemic rather than just entirely postpone or cancel their plans for 2020. Comic-Con and JFL are indeed going to live-stream events and the same will be true of Tomorrow with Ron Lynch, the LA comedy variety treasure that has been faithfully bringing the weird/wonderful/hilarious to LA crowds every Saturday night now for 15 years.

This first virtual anniversary of Tomorrow with Ron Lynch will take place on Instagram Live where host Ron Lynch has been keeping Tomorrow going for months now @ronlynch1 on Saturdays at 11PM PT/2AM EST.

For the anniversary shows, they always round up some big guests as well as their all time favorites and this time is no different. Here’s the line-up for this Saturday’s 15 Year Anniversary:

Fred Armisen
David Arquette
Kate Micucci
Brendon Small
Craig Anton
Brett Loudermilk
Bangs the Clown
Jay London
THE CORE 4
Chris Walsh
Katie Crown
Brian Barlow
Davey Johnson
Michael Mortilla
Martin Olson
You might not get the complimentary food or cheap toys/party favors that normally come with every Tomorrow anniversary, but the delightfully strange spirit of Tomorrow with Ron Lynch will definitely be there like it always has been, whether virtually or in person.

Again, tune in on Sat. Jul. 25th at 11PM PT/2AM EST @ronlynch1 on IG Live

If you want to see how daft comedy can truly get (in the best way possible of course, done by very talented, clever folks), you might want to catch Brendon Small and Brendon Walsh’s BREN2ON (pronounced BREN-TU-DIN) at the end of this month (Tuesday, May 29th at 8PM) at Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe.

Brendon and Brendon really push the limits of how silly and dumb they can get (i.e. prank calls, DIY crafts, etc.) and, in a unique way, it’s brilliant. Also, the amazing Morgan Murphy, Henry Phillips, and Jamie Loftus will be joining them as well.

Tickets are $5 and you can (and really should) get them here.

Los Angeles is losing The Steve Allen Theater, a theater that should be more near and dear to its heart for all the comedy, variety, music, magic, theater, curiosities, etc. that Trepany House has presented over the years.

The least you could do is catch the theater’s swan song, which will be a show packed to the gills with Trepany House’s all time favorites.

Tickets for general admission are $20 and VIP tickets are $50. Get them quick because they will probably sell out.

Well, the time for their swan song has unfortunately come, but what a swan song it will be.

The very last Tomorrow! with Ron Lynch will be this Saturday at midnight full of their main players, best and brightest, all time favorites, old friends, comedy legends, etc.

Watch “The Roast of Ron Lynch” as a Great Reminder of Traditional Roasts

While the upcoming Roast of Justin Bieber is a night of taking on a highly divisive figure with all the insults and verbal barbs that professional insult and verbal barb makers can muster as physical abuse is illegal, there was a time where roasts were for the ones you love.

The Roast of Ron Lynch wonderfully harkens back to that time.

Ron Lynch is, whether you or Ron knows it or not, an American comedy treasure and, as such, a roast in his honor was held a few weeks back at Trepany House @ The Steve Allen Theater. In attendance was a dais of his friends and contemporaries including Emo Philips, Chuck Sklar, Kevin Kataoka, Brendon Small, Joe Wagner, Katie Crown, The Walsh Brothers, Davey Johnson, and more.

They all took their approach of making fun of Ron and each other, saying something heartfelt, Ron expertly responding, and, as you might imagine made it a night to never forget.

Watch and enjoy a classic roast of a great comedian here.
