Luckily, there’s this great gay wedding advice sketch from this new season to hold you over.

Rick and Morty Season One Out on DVD in Oct.

While there’s certainly ways to watch episodes of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty legally online, it’s hard to not want to get the DVD box set of one of the best shows on TV despite it not getting thrown into the same sentences as everyone’s favorite one hour dramas on cable and online streaming providers.

So, with that in mind, keep Oct. 7th in mind, the day that season one of Rick and Morty comes out on DVD. Series co-creator Justin Roiland will even pick someone at random to win a copy if you RT this tweet.

TruTV Rebranding Itself as a Comedy Channel to Have “Way More Fun”

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Come Oct. 27th, TruTV will no longer be the land of Court TV as they will have officially rebranded themselves with an entirely new comedy line-up. “Way more fun” is the tagline they’ll have and the tone they’re aiming for and having series like the sketch show Friends of the People is certainly a good start.

In the era where Comedy Central has had a resurgence, IFC has successfully rebranded themselves as a comedy channel, Adult Swim making great live action and animated comedy series, HBO as well as FX earning plenty of accolades with their comedy series, and Netflix/Hulu/Amazon/Yahoo all collecting their own noteworthy comedy series line-ups, TruTV definitely has their work cut out for them, but we’re excited to see where they go.

With the premiere of his HBO stand up special Love at the Store just around the corner, Jerrod Carmichael wanted to make sure people watch it give something back.

So, he sponsored a PeeWee football team, which is a great thing for a community. He even went as far as buying them jerseys that just so happen to “coincidentally” tie into his special.

Watch Jerrod’s marketing savvy altruism at work plus a great Steve Rannazzisi cameo and be sure to watch Love at the Store Oct. 4th at 10PM on HBO.

In order to actually go, he needed to raise money via Kickstarter and Dave was aiming for $15,000 over a month.

Well, he got funded pretty much in just over a day and is now at $23,005 with 25 days to go. It should be a testament to his comedy and how much fans are willing to support comedy they love.

So, get your money’s worth Melbourne and enjoy Dave and his show aptly title Hot Head while he’s there.

One of our favorite hometown festivals, every year, is the fantastic Riot LA Comedy Festival presented by KCRW and we’re happy to hear that it’s coming back for a third year come Jan. 2015.

Specifically, Jan. 16-18th, 2015, we’ll all have a ball here in LA with some of the best comedy around the city and the world. Without it, honestly, we wouldn’t want to imagine what we’d have to do just like The Sklar Brothers, Paul F. Tompkins, Fred Willard, Paula Poundstone, Sean Patton, Ron Funches and more would be doing things that probably rather not be doing instead of comedy (as shown in this Riot LA “Vignette”).

The great multi-hypenate comedian Tim Minchin has taken a beat poem that follows a dinner party debate of science vs. belief from his live 2008 show “Ready For This?” (that was adapted into an animated short film) and has now adapted it into a graphic novel called Storm. Though an atypical road for a creative work like a poem, Minchin would be the comedic voice to make all of this work wonderfully.

Minchin will be throwing a global launch event on Oct. 6th that will be live streamed from Soho House in West Hollywood 11AM PST. For now, you can and should pre-order Storm on Amazon here.

Study Finds That More People Watch TV Online at YouTube Than Anywhere Else

Out of all the places that you can currently watch TV online including Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, and so many more, the first online video giant, YouTube, still holds it spot at top of the online streaming mountain.

While that might result might be unsurprising, you should note that Netflix is only came in 5% under YouTube and, given the trail blazing slate of original programming over the last few years, Netflix is only headed onwards and upwards in their share of the online TV market.

Based on how crowded the field is and that YouTube has plenty of viable competition, it’s not surprising that YouTube is reinvesting in its top content creators.

A month ago, Chris Gethard announced he was taking a mini hiatus from The Chris Gethard Show to think about the future of the show including the possibility of bringing it to a close for good.

Well, we’re happy to tell you that The Chris Gethard Show taped an episode last night and is indeed back. Gethard tried to send this open letter, but ultimately had to post it on the show’s Tumblr because he was trying to send it to too many people at once,

TCGS will continue on, but Chris plans on it being a stripped down, simpler version, though just as much fun. You can catch up on all of the show and subcribe here, by the way.

So, if you were crossing your fingers and holding your breath this whole time, you can ease up from hopefully turning purple and cramping your fingers.

Now, Mortdecai will roll out on Jan. 23rd, two weeks early to the chagrin of art theft comedy/Johnny Depp fans.
