Larry David Going to Broadway with Fish in the Dark

(via Showbiz 411)

The supposed play that Larry David was rumored earlier this year to be possibly doing is now actually happening. David has written Fish in the Dark and Scott Rudin is producing.

There isn’t a time table as to when this will hit Broadway quite yet, but, as far as live stage productions that are coming soon, you should keep this and Trey Parker’s Cannibal: The Musical on your radar.

Sequels to The LEGO Movie To Be Released on Memorial Day Weekend 2018 and 2019

Film franchises are really jumping in on this announcing release dates years in advance as of late. Marvel, DC, and now The LEGO Movie franchise has May 25th, 2018 and May 24th, 2019 set as dates for the release of two more LEGO movies in addition to the The LEGO Movie 2 set for May 26th, 2017 and a Ninjago spinoff is set for Sept. 2016.

On top of all that, you should note that the presence of Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the writers and directors of the first LEGO Movie, seem to be absent in all of these sequels. Hopefully, the same tone, wit, and originality will be kept up for the next four movies.

The Interview with Seth Rogen and James Franco Moved to Christmas Release Date

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Despite North Korea’s protestations against the movie’s subject matter that focuses on killing Kim Jong-Un, Sony is moving the release of The Interview starring Seth Rogen and James Franco back to a bigger release date, Christmas.

Originally, the movie was slated for release in early October, but Sony is lining up its Christmas weekend offering for The Interview, where it’ll play against the third installment of The Hobbit franchise and more.

This will also give North Korea two more months to further decry the movie, though we’re not sure how much more they could say outside of an “act of terrorism”.

In addition to the tomfoolery he had with TI and Jimmy Fallon, Will Arnett also further assured us that there will be a 5th season of Arrested Development on The Tonight Show last night after having revealed some details on The Today Show earlier.

Netflix’s Ted Sarandos was “positive” of a return, but Arnett made doubly sure to tell us all that it will be definitely happening.

However, there’s no telling what the timetable is for shooting or a release, especially considering everyone’s schedules.

So, Netflix Surpassed HBO This Past Quarter in Subscriber Revenue

(via Entertainment Weekly)

The online streaming giant Netflix has been making a lot of waves over the last couple of years with their entrance into producing their own content. In fact, after resurrecting Arrested Development, Orange Is The New Black, and more, Netflix has just, in this past quarter, surpassed HBO in subscriber revenue.

While that doesn’t exactly mean that Netflix has grown bigger than HBO, which has more of an established brand, more original content, and, overall, more accolades and money coming in, it certainly does mean that Netflix (and online streaming in general) is absolutely headed in that direction.

Maybe, a stand alone HBO GO will be up for subscription in the not so distant future and we can all watch Silicon Valley, Veep, and Girls without using our friends and loved ones’ passwords.
