The contracts of Noel Wells and John Milhiser, much like Brooks Wheelan, were not renewed for the next season of Saturday Night Live. Nasim Pedrad is also leaving for Mulaney, which is making its series premiere this Fall on Fox.

With three cast members gone and the fate of the cast member who got bumped up from staff writer, Michael Patrick O’Brien, up in the air, one has to wonder if SNL will do a large casting overhaul for next season just like they did for this season.

Marc Maron Finds a New Way to Worry About Cancer & a Substitute for Coffee

Leave it to Marc Maron’s day off to pester a doctor to get an MRI because Maron thinks he has cancer.

Marc told that story on Late Night with Seth Meyers as well as what he does to get going in the morning in place of coffee, which is, appropriately enough for Marc, more complicated and intense than a cup of coffee.

Sounds like an episode recap of a pretty great episode of his IFC series Maron.

NBC, Funny or Die, and Comic Relief Teaming Up for U.S. Red Nose Day

The gigantic UK comedy fundraiser known as Red Nose Day is making its way stateside, specifically to NBC with the help of Comic Relief and Funny or Die.

Featuring sketches, stand-up, and more from, undoubtedly, the biggest names possible, there will be a three hour show that will raise money for big charities. The names of performers and charities have yet to be announced, but Red Nose Day has been noted for raising over a $1 billion in donations.

Looks like they don’t need an old school telethon to run through the wee hours of the morning. We’ll see what they’ll pull off when the show goes down next spring.

Nathan Fielder Hires Focus Group To Give Him a Whole New Image on Nathan For You

If there’s one a recurring issue that Nathan Fielder seems to have throughout hosting his show Nathan For You, it seems to be that many folks don’t like his persona very much. With this in mind, he hired an expressly diverse focus group to give him pointers on camera and make over his entire image in the hope that people will like him more.

Of course, this experiment doesn’t happen without a few Nathan’s own “obstacles”. Watch parts one and two here.

What we’re wondering is if there will be certain pages, given Eichner’s penchant for screaming, that will just have exclamation marks.

Netflix’s latest comedy series slated for production is Grace & Frankie starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin featuring the two as arch rivals that become friends over the fact that their husbands want to marry each other. If that wasn’t intriguing enough, Sam Waterston is playing one of the husbands.

If that somehow not enough to draw your interest, perhaps the you’ll pay attention to June Diane Raphael and Baron Vaughn being cast as respective daughter and son on either side of this new family dynamic.

It’s announcements like these that make us glad Netflix releases all the episodes at once, so we can indeed binge watch.

Last year, Rory Albanese left his long tenure at The Daily Show as a writer/executive producer to pursue other projects, do a bit of stand-up, etc. In fact, he signed a development deal with Warner Bros. and subsequently sold a project.

Now, Albanese is returning to his EP role on a Comedy Central series, except it will be on the brand new show with another Daily Show alum, Larry Wilmore and his upcoming show,The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore set to replace The Colbert Report.

Though this doesn’t give us much more details on The Minority Report, it should instill a more confidence in whatever they’re up to in developing it right now.

The end of Craig Ferguson’s run at The Late Late Show may be the end of The Late Late Show as well.

In CBS’ TCA presentation, CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler revealed that she’s been toying with the idea of doing something different when David Letterman and Ferguson end their runs at The Late Show and The Late Late Show, respectively.

So far, Stephen Colbert is slated to replace Letterman at The Late Show, which will presumably be called The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. There has been much speculation over what would happen in the 12:30AM slot following Colbert then, but no replacement host has been picked and it might not even be a comedy-oriented program according to Tassler.

Tassler doesn’t make it clear whether that will happen or not, but only details the possibilities, which could further shake up the late night world.
