Nick Kroll’s Kroll Show is returning for its 2nd season in the start of both a new year and an exciting roll out of Comedy Central programming (i.e. Andy Daly’s Review is supposed to premiere next year as well).
Louis C.K. Inks Overall Deal with FX for New Series
It shouldn’t be shocking to you, but, at the same time, great news that Louis C.K. is getting an overall deal at FX/FXx to produce more series.
Perhaps, he’ll try to develop those pitches in the one episode of Louie where he walked a TV exec from having lunch with him.
Jay Larson’s first story on Conan is one of the most viewed stand up clips for Team Coco (and if you watch it you’ll see why).

‘Girls’ EP Murray Miller Inks Deal with HBO/Developing Comedy with Mike White
This is good news for a few reasons.
One, HBO is developing another comedy. Two, HBO is having one of the Girls’ brass, executive producer Murray Miller, develop a series. And three, Enlightened’s Mike White might possibly be returning to HBO.
Old friends and both fine comedians Pete Holmes and John Mulaney have a nice chat on The Pete Holmes Show.
For the rest of us, that translates to Mulaney revealing why you shouldn’t trust Pete with secrets (that’s actually what Pete’s monologue was about) and also roasting him on national television.
‘Inside Comedy’ Renewed for Third Season at Showtime
The David Steinberg hosted one-on-one conversation, behind-the-mic/curtain/screen/etc. series Inside Comedy is getting a third season that will feature a wide variety of comedians in the comedic spectrum from Zach Galifianakis to Dick Van Dyke to Bette Middler to Richard Belzer to Jimmy Fallon as he takes over The Tonight Show and a few more.
Based off the last two seasons, you’ll probably hear some stories that you haven’t heard on podcasts.
Other than this description of the show off the production company Shadowmachine’s website “TRIP TANK is a block of animation shows in a variety of formats by a variety of talented writers, creators, and animators,” there’s not much other detail about Comedy Central’s brand new animated series probably coming next year.

Dave Hill’s Witch Taint Now Has a Promotional Hot Sauce
Years ago, the hilarious Dave Hill had this fun dialogue with a Norwegian Black Metal band in trying to join their group. In said dialogue, he talked about his own solo black metal band, Witch Taint, and how in touch with the darkness he was.
Even though a full album has yet to be released from Witch Taint, there’s a hot sauce now being released in promotion of the band. If anything, it’s another good excuse to post what has now become known as The Black Metal Dialogues (probably the funniest thing you read that day when you read it/the funniest thing you’ll read today)
If you take daytime court shows and replace the claims by adult plaintiffs against adult defendants with claims by child versions of that, there’s strangely a very thin line between the two. That’s why Kids Court, the newest series at Nerdist’s YouTube Channel is really funny.
Also, there’s the hysterical Andy Kindler as judge, which makes this even more, pushing this to really damn funny.

R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet has become such a cult comedy phenomenon that we wonder if R. Kelly is aware how much of his show has been .gif’d?

HBO Making TV Special Out of Billy Crystal’s One Man Show ‘700 Sundays’
That’s right-Billy Crystal’s hit one-man show 700 Sundays is going to be produced into a special for HBO. If you haven’t seen it, you might have seen Crystal doing the late night talk show circuit and be pretty great throughout.
Basically, you should get excited for this when it comes out next year.
“Ted Turner” trying to hunt down Will Forte on a fake buffalo was pretty damn funny on Conan this week, but, if for no other reason, please watch this clip for the plethora of insulting nicknames “Turner” hurls at Conan O’Brien.
The Coen Brothers Are Working On a “Musical Comedy”
The headline really says all you need to know to start frantically searching for casting rumors, production stills, teasers, etc. Have you seen Inside Llewyn Davis/everything else they’ve done?
Even with little details outside the project to have more traditional music numbers, we’re definitely up for whatever musical comedy The Coen Brothers are going to throw our way.

Sundance Unveils 2014 Competition Lineups/Potential 2014-15 Indie Comedy Darlings
In the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, The Skeleton Twins with Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, Happy Christmas with Lena Dunham, Obvious Child with Jenny Slate, Life After Beth with Aubrey Plaza, Ping Pong Summer with Amy Sedaris will all be part of the official competition.
