New Wave Entertainment To Bring More Live Comedy to Movie Theaters via Fathom Events
As comedy specials like those of Kevin Hart’s and live events like Rifftrax have shown promise in movie theaters over the last few years, it was only a matter of time before someone was going to go full bore with live comedy on the big screen. Turns out that someone will be New Wave Entertainment teaming up with the biggest live event movie distributor Fathom Events.
Not exactly sure what will come of all of this, but we’d probably bet the a movie theater crowd won’t heckle.
Hannibal Buress Gets Multiplatform Deal with Comedy Central
A pilot order, a spot as a series regular, another stand-up special, and more are coming from Hannibal Buress by way of Comedy Central from this deal and we couldn’t be happier about it.
Congratulations to Hannibal and we can’t wait for all this to come out.
As part of a remote segment for Conan, the hysterical Tig Notaro went to local businesses around LA to get her headshot on the wall. The businesses were surprisingly not opposed to the idea, but Tig wasn’t just going to give them any headshot. Also, she calls Sarah Silverman to verify her headshot being on a wall of furniture store, which is pretty great.
Their benefit at the Laugh Factory went off without a hitch and yet the writers of E!’s Fashion Police are still on strike. They’ll be picketing tomorrow at 5750 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA from 11:30AM-12:30PM and they’re calling on all who are in support of them to march and rally with them tomorrow.
For his story at the fantastic show Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction created by Bryan Cook, the very funny Jim Hamilton enlisted the aid of one La Bamba from Conan’s Basic Cable Band to give wondrous detail to his filthy, but kind of uplifting Charlie Brown fan fiction.

Tig Notaro’s Live Getting Physical CD Release
Tig Notaro’s fantastic album Live that originally just supposed to be a long set at Largo last year is now getting a physical album release. It was deservedly regarded as one of the top comedy albums of the year by many publications and garnered great praise from Louis CK.
So, set aside money for this even if you already own the digital version.
2013 Critics’ Choice TV Awards Nominations for Comedy
Louie, Parks and Recreation, Veep, Girls, Community, Conan, The Daily Show, Archer, Enlightened, and The Simpsons all received nominations for this year’s Critics’ Choice TV Awards.
Let’s hope they all win.

We’re so glad the incredibly funny Henry Phillips got a web series over at JASH/buhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh called “You and Your F*cking Coffee”. Mike Judge co-stars in this that follows the descent of a family all because of some fucking coffee.
Finally, the hilarious Jen Kirkman has gotten her own podcast, “I Seem Fun: The Diary of Jen Kirkman”. It’s just her in her bed with a microphone and Kirkman’s stream of consciousness on things like aggressive parfaits, book signing incidents, and more that we want to hear Jen discuss solo.
