Sweden’s Simone Giertz has made a career out of making robots that are seemingly designed to do a singular function, but are really made to only kind of do that one function in the quest to bring joy to all.

Giertz has a very popular YouTube channel where you can see a drone try to cut hair, a robot that can argue with the Internet, and more.

This week, she got to show off her wares to Stephen Colbert and The Late Show and it was a whole bunch of fun.

You’ll also be surprised to know that CBS censors curse words in foreign languages.

Though “Force Majeure” Was Snubbed at The Oscars, It Cleaned House at The Guldbagge Awards

Robert Östlund’s Force Majeure was hands down one of the best films we saw last year, regardless of its foreign status. Naturally, we weren’t fans of it not getting an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film  a weeks ago.

However, Östlund has done quite well in his home country at Sweden’s Oscars known as The Guldbagge Awards winning six awards including Best Film and Best Director.

You can call it homefield advantage if you want, but Force Majeure deserves every award it has coming to it for how bleakly hilarious it is.

You Probably Won’t See a More Dryly Funny Movie Involving an Avalanche Than “Force Majeure”

Really, the avalanche is tangential to what’s so funny about Swedish dramedy, “Force Majeure” from Ruben Östlund. A Swedish family of four goes to the French Alps on vacation and goes through briefly traumatic experience, but then goes on to deal with something more profound in how misinformed their traditional gender and family roles are.

If you’re into seeing what appears to be a happily married couple with two kids subversively, but hysterically question why they’re with each other, Force Majeure is the movie for you.

Catch it in the handful of theaters that it’s still playing it in LA.

Greg & Amy Poehler’s ‘Welcome To Sweden’ Gets Second Season Order At TV4

While the first season has yet to make its U.S. premiere on NBC, Amy Poehler and her brother, Greg, have just gotten a second season in Sweden of their series Welcome to Sweden.

This should be a tell tale sign that we’re in for something good when Welcome to Sweden hits NBC July 10th.

Amy and Greg Poehler’s ‘Welcome To Sweden’ Finds It Way to NBC

The only English speaking comedy series in Sweden created by the brother sister team of Amy and Greg Poehler will be able to be watched by American audiences thanks to NBC.

Good move by NBC for keeping Amy Poehler around as well as her now awards show hosting pal Tina Fey.
