Watch Ahamed Weinberg Scream at Random Public Places to Raise Money and Awareness for Throat Cancer Foundation

Via Instagram, comedian/filmmaker/actor Ahamed Weinberg indeed did scream at public places that ranged from the LA Zoo to an Armed Forces Recruiting Center to an Ikea and much much more for a few bucks.

Lest you judge too quickly, know that the stunt was pulled to raise money for the Throat Cancer Foundation and raise awareness in general of throat cancer and it’s horribly debilitating effects (Ahamed got a nice thank you note if you needed proof).

There are so many levels that you can enjoy this from the catharsis that comes from yelling into the void to yelling in unsuspecting environs to the hot dog costume that Ahamed dons in some of the videos. Please enjoy it all here.

Well, of the places that you can and have watched a comedy show, we’re going to bet that a tennis court hasn’t made your list (it hasn’t been checked off of our list either).

That can change next week when Match Point! Comedy debuts and will present the likes of Aparna Nancherla, Nick Vatterott, and Ben Brandfon and their comedy on a Silverlake tennis court along with hosts Gil, Isaac, and Luke.

If you have a bird watching approach to comedy show venues, you might want to get in on this. Get more details here.

Groundbreaking LGBTQ writer/director/actress Desiree Akhavan (The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Appropriate Behavior) will very soon be coming out with her latest work, a dating comedy series told earnestly from the bisexual perspective.

As to make that premise very clear, the series is titled The Bisexual and already shows promise in this trailer. It has the feel of You’re The Worst or Catastrophe, but from a new point of view that very likely will be refreshing.

Get a taste of it with this trailer. We’re going to guess that it’ll be premiering in the UK first, then a streaming service for us here Stateside as it was with Catastrophe. Specifically, it’ll be available in the UK via Channel 4 and in America on Hulu.

Mike Birbiglia’s The New One to Have a Broadway Run

Perhaps the work of Nick Kroll and John Mulaney and Oh, Hello broke down a bit of a barrier between comedy (that of the stand-up, sketch, and improv world that is) and Broadway.

Maybe the finely woven joke and story tapestries of Mike Birbiglia that have toured the world and been adapted into movies just naturally found its way to Broadway as it’s one of the few places Mike’s work has yet to make its mark.

In any case, the brilliant Mike Birbiglia will be doing a Broadway run at the Cort Theatre of his latest show, the New One this Fall/Winter.

If you’re in, around, or going to NYC, you should go snag your tickets here.

The last time Conan O’Brien went on a live tour was almost a decade ago (and right before he moved to TBS). Such a different and far off time, right?

Anyhow, Conan is going out on tour yet again all across country along with Rory Scovel, Ron Funches, Deon Cole, Laurie Kilmartin, Marina Franklin, Taylor Tomlinson, Moses Storm, Flula Borg, and more as well as, per the tour’s name, giving out hot stock tips, apparently.

Conan breaking down the stock market alone is a good enough reason to get tickets, which go on sale this Friday, Sept. 28th, on this 18 city tour that goes from Nov. 2nd-Dec. 15th. You can snag them later this week at: http://teamcoco.com/tour

Outside the realms of cinema and comedy, Buster Keaton often doesn’t get as much credit as his contemporaries like Charlie Chaplin for the foundations that he set up for directing, performing, and, overall, being a star.

Peter Bogdanovich has set out to make up for this with a feature length documentary following Keaton’s life and the auteurs and performers (that includes anybody from Quentin Tarantino to Johnny Knoxville) that he had an indelible mark on in this millennium.

Get a taste of it with this trailer and look for The Great Buster in select theaters starting October 5th.

The ATC umbrella will be responsible for Comedy Central’s next stand-up showcase series as well as three one-hour specials, one of which will be from Paul Virzi.

As Netflix is going toe-to-toe in stand-up offering versus Comedy Central and virtually any other channel, network, service, or outlet offering stand-up, we’ll be excited to see what Burr and Madrigal cook up with this deal over the next year or so.

It’s not often that Chris Gethard swings by LA, so you really ought not to pass up a chance to see him.

Also, a live taping of his amazing podcast Beautiful Anonymous is another thing that you should make plans for whenever it happens.

On top of all of that, Chris is out promoting his upcoming life advice book, Lose Well, and, at this point, you’re probably going to want to check that out too. It comes out on Oct. 16th, but if you pre-order right now, “Chris will send you a video message, an audio file you can use as your outgoing voicemail message, or he’ll call you directly for a two-minute chat!”

Luckily, you can do all three on Wed., Oct. 24th at Dynasty Typewriter. Tickets are $40, which will include a copy of Lose Well. Get a ticket here ASAP (we have a feeling it might sell out.

ABC Developing Working-Class Midwestern Family Comedy “Everything’s Under Control” From Megan Gailey & Aaron Burdette

Though a “working-class midwestern family comedy” with a grandmother who gets Alzheimer’s could end up looking a myriad of ways, we really have dug Megan Gailey and sharp, yet grounded sense of humor ever since we saw her go up on LA stages. Also, Burdette wrote on the far-too-short-lived and highly innovative Man Seeking Woman on FX, which makes us think that this might be more than your typical dysfunctional family single camera comedy.

As always, we’ll just have to find out if and when this gets a series order.

So, please enjoy their performance of “Maybe That’s God” on Conan here.

*we’re going to guess that Conan jokingly asks for an apology because of that f-bomb that got censored.
