Kim Seltzer and Aliya Kamalova have made a great, unique storytelling show by simply putting two best friends, usually a comedian and their best friend, on stage together to tell a story.

The results are wonderful and offer depth, color, and undeniable charm to stories that are only discovered when best friends tell those stories together.

The latest edition of The Best Friends Show happens Saturday Feb. 20th at Nerdmelt with a pretty great bunch of best friends including: Anna Seregina, Daniel Sloss & Mike Mulloy, Moshe Kasher & Brent Weinbach.

Even though it’s a dramedy, we’re still imagining Steve Coogan trading Michael Caine impressions with Paul Rudd.

Rudd and Coogan actually play a well-to-do couple that has to deal with a surprise grandson in a script from the writer and director of Hamlet 2, Andrew Fleming, who has also signed on to direct.

Coogan and Rudd on screen together ought to be a really good time as is. The two of them playing a couple should be

The line between reality and parody keeps getting more and more blurred.

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin sat down and chatted with Donald Trump and Senator Bernie Sanders as played by Anthony Atamanuik and James Adomian and was so dazzled by their impressions that she wasn’t quite sure how to go about the interview and whether to talk the characters or the players behind them.

Either way, seeing Trump vs. Bernie on CNN is a pretty solid win for us all.

That Variety Show with Maya Rudolph and Martin Short Has a Greenlight at NBC

Did it take the success of a few live TV musicals to convince executives they should finally pull the trigger on this one?

Talk of a variety show fronted by Maya Rudolph at NBC, then later sharing top billing with Martin Short, have been around for years now. In fact, Rudolph already did a solid one-off special as a sort of proof-of-concept of the show. Yet, movement on the show from where we’re standing looked minimal at best.

Finally, this variety show with two consummate all around comedic talents (sing, dance, be funny, etc.) is going to series starting sometime in May, probably right around when Saturday Night Live has its season finale.

Speaking of which, we’re really anxious to see how a Maya and Martin variety show will fit in NBC’s comedy slate along side SNL.

Well, that’s definitely a good move on Paramount’s part.

While there is certainly a lot to be suspicious about as another 90s TV show is being adapted and repackaged for audiences in 2016, Hannibal Buress joining in is definitely a plus. He is currently in final negotiations to play one of the town locals in this feature adaptation of Baywatch.

If he has some of the best lines in Broad City, what’s to stop him from stealing this movie?

A series of articles were written by Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgaard in his travels across the Northern parts of the United States that specifically followed the tracks of Vikings hundreds of years before. They were published in the NY Times, entitled “My Saga”, and will be the source material for a feature film that Alexander Payne has signed on to direct.
