Desus & Mero Are as Real as Can Be with Their For Your Consideration Emmy Video
Desus & Mero do a FYC campaign like only Desus & Mero can.
Wet Hot American Summer did their prequel and now they’re going forward in time to the 90s for a sequel that takes place 10 years after the original.
As mentioned above, the jump in time doesn’t change certain things as hijinks still abound all around Camp Firewood. See for yourself in the series trailer.
Look for the episodes of Wet Hot American Summer Ten Years Later to stream on Netflix on Friday, August 4th.
YouTube’s subscription based streaming service might be on to something here. Not only do we enjoy shows that star Rob Huebel and Ryan Hansen, but we love how these two shows pair up quite nicely.
One is Do You Want To See a Dead Body? and the other is Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes. The former involves Huebel hanging out with famous friends and then, of course, showing them a dead body. The latter has Hansen as an off-kilter version himself trying to solving mysteries with detectives.
Without thinking about it too hard, it’s pretty easy to see how there could be a crossover episode as well.
Here’s yet another wondrous morsel of Hack Into Broad City that should keep your appetite of the new season of Broad City at bay (slightly).
It’s an ever evolving mystery on exactly how comedy works and how comedians are able to synthesize their reality into something that will make a group of strangers laugh.
Many series, documentaries, podcasts, movies, books, etc. have explored this topic and will continue to do so as comedy keeps changing.
The latest series to dissect the inner workings of comedy will be coming from Viceland and led by esteemed comedy/entertainment historian Kliph Nestoroff.
Called Funny How?, Kliph will watch comedians try working out their material and then talk shop with them about their process.
Here’s a trailer for the docu-series, which you can catch the premiere of on July 10th.

If you love Doug Stanhope, Brendon Walsh, Morgan Murphy, and Glenn Wool like we do, you’ll be very happy to know that there’s a whole comedy special with all of them together that just started streaming on Seeso today.
Also, how can you not love the title: Doug Stanhope: The Comedians’ Comedian’s Comedians?
Putting together plans for the 4th of July can be burdensome. In LA, as so many people live in such a big area, the Fourth gets even more confounded as there are almost too many celebrations around the entire Greater LA area.
In The 4th, Andre Hyland falls victim to trying to throw a 4th of July BBQ in Los Angeles and encountering the wrong thing at every turn.
See for yourself in the trailer, then look for it in a theater near you on July 21st.
For our money, one of the best ways to catch the fantastic Jen Kirkman in LA is at her recurring show, Lab Test, at the Hollywood Improv Comedy Lab. True to the title, Jen throws new material into a crucible along with great special guests.
The next editions of Jen Kirkman Presents Lab Test are on Wednesday, June 28th & August 16th and tickets are only $5. Please get them here.

We want to keep providing the same great resource that we have to both Los Angeles and comedy at large to the thousands of people who use our services. Pitching in on Patreon will not only make that happen, but so much more (app, branches elsewhere in the country, streamlining the current site, etc.)
In case you weren’t aware, comedy born out of Denver is having a moment right now. You might have seen, in months past, Those Who Can’t, TJ Miller, and Troy Walker on TV and they all to came in some way, shape, or form from Denver comedy.
Now, please welcome Denver’s latest comedy export, Chris Charpentier, a silly breath of fresh air as he does his first late night set on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
If you’re into diving into seeing one of the shows at the Hollywood Fringe Festival going on right now, check out Lucia Brizzi’s Tony Robbins Netflix Special Special.
Basically, it’s an attempt at a self-help special by someone watched self-help magnate Tony Robbins, but clearly still needs help in their life. The result is a damn fun deconstruction of self-help that’s coming apart at its own seams.
They have one more engagement at the Hollywood Fringe this Saturday, June 24th at Three Clubs. Tickets are $12 and you can (and should) get them here.

Yep, we got this tanker desk for a “bit” that we did at Riot LA years ago and just ended up actually using it because that’s what our “budget” allows for. You can help us have a budget without quotation marks through Patreon.

We’ve said it over and over and we’ll say it again: Rory Scovel is one of the funniest comedians working today.
This special, Rory Scovel Tries Stand-Up For The First Time, is proof of it as Scovel, in a deceptively casual way, shows off all of his many skills. He has well crafted material that carefully meshes the absurd, keen observations, and the truth. Yet, he’s always willing to chase the fun of a moment wherever it will take him. It’s a balance that few comics can manage, much less keep going for an hour.
Also, it has a damn great opening (hats off to director Scott Moran as well).
Basically, free up an hour and change as soon as you can and stream Rory Scovel Tries Stand-Up For The First Time ASAP.
It wasn’t too long ago that a true sense of childlike wonderment and delight (that was engineered so even the most jaded adults could be included), came with the mention of Michel Gondry.
Kyle Mooney and Kevin Costello teamed up with Dave McCary to follow the story of a young man dead set on living out the story of his favorite, but abruptly ended children’s TV show, Brigsby Bear. Sound Gondry-esque enough for you?
Look for its release in select theaters on July 28th.
Andy Daly has built a cavalcade of iconic characters throughout his comedy careers. Some of those characters are monstrous, but in a devilishly fun way.
So, Daly is doing a whole solo show Andy Daly: Monsters Take Your Questions where he takes questions as those very characters. We have no doubt Dalton Wilcox and Don DiMello fielding questions will be a hell of a good time.
Catch the show before it heads off to the Edinburgh Fringe this August. Tonight’s engagement is stand by only, but you can buy tickets for upcoming dates (Fri, Jun. 30th @ UCB Sunset 9:30PM and Thu. Jul. 6th @ UCB Franklin 9:30PM) at UCB here.

Really, on top of being able to streamline our operation for Los Angeles to be its best self, we could also go global (i.e. have a Comedy Bureau for the UK, India, etc.) if we got enough money through Patreon.
This summer, TV will have two comedies that center on the different events with different characters that take place in same hotel.
HBO will have The Duplass Brothers’ Room 104 and TBS will have The Guest Book. Both look very intriguing in their own distinct ways and The Guest Book from Greg Garcia also has a pretty nice cast boasting Jenna Fischer, Michael Rapaport, Jaime Pressly, Lauren Lapkus, Michaela Watkins, and Margo Martindale.
See for yourself in the first teaser for The Guest Book, then catch the series premiere on Thursday, August 3rd on TBS.
The Lance Bangs’ orchestrated animated storytelling series Party Legends has returned for its second round at Viceland and has managed, so far, to top itself.
How so?
Well, for starters, Duncan Trussell recounts how he got a dominatrix as part of grieving over the passing of his mother and its animated in an extremely trippy, 3-D style.
See a teaser (that includes a bit of that story) for the new batch of Party Legends here, then catch it on Thursdays at 10PM on Viceland.
As we’ve said before, there are a few comics out there that are built to do sets on late night.
Nikki Glaser is one of the comics and, again, showed why on her recent set from The Tonight Show.
She also made one of the most enjoyable impressions we’ve seen of Jennifer Aniston yet.
Following up Everybody Wants Some, Linklater’s next work will continue his thematic focus on the transitioning between stages of life on how complex and, often, funny they can be.
This time, however, the Maria Semple novel he’s adapting from centers around a fiercely independent architect and mother that goes missing all of sudden. With Blanchett starring as the titular Bernadette (as well as a supporting cast of Kristen Wiig, Billy Crudup, and Judy Greer) and Linklater at the helm, we trust that this will undoubtedly be something to look out for.
Without question, one of the best character comedians and practitioners of the man-on-the-street segment is Conner O’Malley.
From conspiracy theorist wack job to adult entertainment fan boy going through a rough time to a good dad upholding weird traditions, O’Malley made this pilot that essentially creates a universe where all of O’Malley’s different characters can live together in some sort of weird, chaotic, NSFW harmony.
Enjoy TruthHunters.com here and hope that it sparks O’Malley getting to do a series somewhere on TV or on streaming services.
With your $ pledged on Patreon, you can assure that we can keep the lights on here at The Comedy Bureau, build an app, expand to other cities, etc. etc.
Also, you can get some pretty bitchin’ enamel pins.

Please consider becoming an esteemed patron of ours here.
So, this week, Harland Williams will be doing a taping as his character, Caramel Corn the Pug. That means he will be wearing a giant pug head while on stage and be doing stand-up as an anthropomorphized dog.
Yes, this seems to be really happening.
Get your tickets for $20 (with 2 item minimum) for either 7:30PM or 9:45PM shows here.
