We’re not surprised at all that Shahruz Shaukat, a guy behind the genius Podbay.fm co-developed this.

Richard Linklater Looking to Add Jon Hamm, Danny McBride, Key & Peele, and More to Incredible Mr. Limpet

Taking from 1964’s The Incredible Mr. Limpet that had Don Knotts turn into a fish and help hunt Nazi U-boats, director Richard Linklater is going for a remake and lining up a pretty great cast. Zach Galifianakis is attached to play Mr. Limpet, the role Knotts played, and there are no Nazis in this one.

However, Jon Hamm, Sarah Silverman, Danny McBride, Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Jordan Peele, and Keegan-Michael Key are all in talks to join the cast. With Linklater at the helm and this cast, this might be one of the more fascinating, possibly great remakes in a long time.

Clerks 3 Will Have to Wait as The Weinstein Company Has Reportedly Passed on It

Kevin Smith was just about to get around to doing a third installment of Clerks when the whole project was brought to a screeching halt. The Weinstein Company, the owners of the franchise rights, have passed on it according to Smith based on the budget being too high for their liking, which was $6 million.

There’s no further word on the fate of Clerks 3, but we’d bet this is probably isn’t the end of the road just yet.

Steven Soderbergh and David Gordon Green Comedy Pilot “Red Oaks” Coming to Amazon

Amazon Studios have added their latest comedy pilot to their upcoming slate of shows that will be put on display for viewers to watch and decide which goes to series.

That comedy pilot is a coming of age comedy from producer Steven Soderbergh and director David Gordon Green entitled Red Oaks set in 1985. Soderbergh and Green collaborating on a comedy series at Amazon has us thoroughly intrigued.

David Wain’s satirical romantic comedy that pokes fun at the very motifs and conventions that define romantic comedies as a genre is pretty damn hilarious.

IFC Orders Sequel to ‘Spoils of Babylon’, ‘The Spoils Before Dying’

Will Ferrell will again don a fedora and a giant beard as Eric Jonrosh to bring another tale of America’s past that’s wonderfully ridiculous as IFC has just ordered a follow up to the Spoils of Babylon mini series.

The cast has yet to be set for The Spoils Before Dying, but they’ll undoubtedly get an amazing ensemble cast like they did the first time. The loose description seems to be much more noir-ish than Spoils of Babylon.

Summer 2015, when this will premiere, can’t come soon enough.

The Brooklyn Cyclones Went For The Fences Celebrating 25th Anniversary of Seinfeld

Between temporarily changing the name of the stadium to Vandelay Industries Park, having the Soup Nazi in attendance, and doing a Elaine Benes style dance contest, the minor league baseball team known as The Brooklyn Cyclones probably had the best celebration of Seinfeld’s 25th Anniversary this weekend.

Some Versions of ‘Modern Family’ Around the World Have A Few Big Differences From The Original

Currently, Iran, Chile, and Greece have or are working on their own versions of ABC’s hit sitcom and perennial award winning series Modern Family.

In Iran and Chile however, same-sex marriage is not legal and thus, Cam and Mitchell are not adapted into the Iranian and Chilean versions of the show titled as “Haft Sang” and “Familia Moderna” respectively. Even more perturbing is the idea that producers for Haft Sang have not gotten rights to adapt Modern Family.

Jerry Seinfeld Hangs Out with His Old Friend George Wallace and His Hero Robert Klein

The latest two episodes of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee has Jerry Seinfeld take a ride and grab a cup of coffee with two comedians that he has known the longest. Seinfeld and George Wallace not only came up together at the same time, but think of each other as brothers. Robert Klein, throughout the entire canon of stand-up comedy, is one of Seinfeld’s absolute heroes.

It’s fascinating to see Wallace rib Jerry a little and Klein talk about stand-up in the 60s.

There Might Be a New Video Service From a Former Hulu CEO, Jason Kilar

Vessel is the name of a start up company focused on video that’s being fronted by Jason Kilar who used to be a CEO at Hulu. The details aren’t clear as to what or how extensive the service will be, but with the founders’ mission being “to delight consumers and content creators alike”, their must be something here along the lines of what Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon are doing right now.

This might mean more opportunity for great original comedy series without the hassle of dealing with TV.
