Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents, the current brand for Comedy Central’s half-hour stand-up comedy specials, has just announced a new line-up featuring 9 comedians that are, in our opinion, solid through and through.
If you’re in New Orleans at the beginning of next month, you can attend the tapings for these specials at The Civic in New Orleans. Tickets available here.
Last year, real life married comedians Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher went on tour as part of their honeymoon. They not only captured their journey in a web series, but offered other couples sincere, but still hilarious, advice on how they might better their relationships.
So, Natasha and Moshe are embarking again across North America on what is now called “The Endless Honeymoon Tour” this summer.
We guess if you can keep the “honeymoon phase” going, the magic doesn’t stop, right?
Sara Schaefer, whose comedy we hope you enjoyed on her excellent album Chrysalis, has lined up an impressive span of dates which have her hopping around North America all summer long and finishing the off tour with a month long run at the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
So, it’s a global tour that you ought to catch at one stop or another.

Those are the 14 names that will get to do a half hour Comedy Central special that will be now called “Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents” later this Fall. If you take a closer look, this might be CC’s best, most diverse half-hour line-up yet (i.e. it’s mostly fantastic comics that aren’t straight white guys)
Kind of harkens back to the days of when Comedy Central had “Comedy Central Presents”, doesn’t it?
The tapings will take place next month, Wednesday, April 19th-Saturday, April 22nd, in New Orleans at The Civic Theatre. You can get free tickets here.

Whether it be stand-up, films, sketch, improv, or any other sort of comedy, Hell Yes Fest is, for the first time, now taking submissions for this year’s edition of the festival set to take place from Oct. 1st-11th in New Orleans. This way, they can reach further to bring in comedy from around the country down to their neck of the woods.
The deadline is June 1st and you can submit here for live comedy and here for films. So, if you want the chance of getting in at a festival and spending a week in New Orleans, stop reading this and get to submitting already.
While there are plenty of great series that follow the lives of stand-up comedians, you would hard pressed to find great show that follows the lives of an improv group.
Sean Patton and his writing partner Rory Windhorst might have come up with that very series in “Yes, and..” It centers on a dysfunctional improv group based in New Orleans and has Sean Patton and Brooks Wheelan in the cast.

Hailing from LA, DJ Douggpound, Andre Hyland, and Mikey Kampmann are bringing their comedic stylings to The South from New Orleans to Atlanta later this month as part of the Triple Dippers South American Tour.

Kurt Braunohler Indeed Made It To New Orleans on a Jet Ski
If you haven’t been following Kurt Braunohler’s Instagram for his journey from Chicago to New Orleans on a jet ski, you’re missing out on something both funny and majestic. As evidenced in the link above, he made it to New Orleans as scheduled.
He held up his part of the bargain, now you should donate to send goats and chickens to Africa.
Kurt Braunohler Has Officially Left Chicago on a Jet Ski Bound for New Orleans
At Chicago’s Navy Pier at 7:15AM, one Kurt Braunohler has made his departure via jet ski to New Orleans. His jet ski, you should note, is pretty awesome as well as it’s 1/3 stars and stripes and 2/3 tropical floral print. He’s also wearing a tuxedo wet suit, which we didn’t realize was even a thing until we saw Kurt wear it.
He’s scheduled to arrive in New Orleans next Thurs. Jun. 5th. and you can still support Kurt’s crowdfunding project to send goats and chickens to Africa here.
Submit Your Quirky, Awesome Film to Hell Yes Fest
Hell Yes Fest is a “bad ass comedy festival” from that resides both in Austin, TX, and New Orleans, LA and features many of our favorite comedians. They’re also having a film portion of their festival, which you can submit to. Whether it be a web series, pilot, feature film, etc., it’ll be up for consideration for Hell Yes Fest! in New Orleans Nov 12-16th.
Early deadline is July 1st and then final deadline is Sept. 8th. if you’re interested.
