Hasan Minhaj makes his latest appearance on The Daily Show as the “Senior Senate Intelligence Report Correspondent” to remark on the recently released CIA Torture Report.

Minhaj makes an “awesome” case, albeit a paradoxical one, for us to not feel so down on ourselves as a nation. Watch it here.

The TV legend Norman Lear stopped by for a nice long chat with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show to promote his new memoir Even This I Get to Experience.

Stewart goes through Lear’s unbelievable career and also finds that All In The Family probably wouldn’t make it to air today. You’re going to want to watch this for brush up on your sitcom history.

Jon Stewart Admits One Factual Error on The Daily Show While Various Pundits/D.A’s Let Stewart Have It

December 10, 2014

factual error, ferguson, jon stewart, the daily show

Jon Stewart makes fun of how the news is reported four nights a week on The Daily Show on Comedy Central. As The Daily Show does routinely grill various newscasters, pundits, etc. on a nightly basis, it would be natural for them to want to grill Stewart on anything that they can.

So, when a District Attorney from San Bernardino County pointed out one factual error by Stewart on a segment on Ferguson, Fox News and the like had a field day.

Last night, Stewart admitted, on air, that he was wrong, but also pointed out that the field day that pundits were having on Stewart steered the conversation away from questioning the methods of the police and the lack of oversight on that,

When reporting on the events in Ferguson, Missouri, Jon Stewart and The Daily Show looked to their Senior Black Correspondent, soon to be host of The Nightly Show, Larry Wilmore.

Here are his very poignant, well spoken thoughts on the issue, which, very easily, could be applied to the decision to not indict the NYPD officer who choked Eric Garner to death.

Last night on The Daily Show, the newest correspondent to the best f*cking news team ever, the wonderful Hasan Minhaj, made his very first appearance on the show.

Hasan was in a debate segment regarding treatment of pigs used for meat against Jordan Klepper and brought a great sense of gravitas to contrast Jordan. We cannot wait to see more from Hasan very soon.

Watch his debut here.

John Oliver Fills in Once More for Jon Stewart at The Daily Show

Jon Stewart’s directorial debut with Rosewater opens today and, as you could imagine, he used last night’s episode of The Daily Show to promote it.

With that being the case, Stewart felt it would be tasteless to be also promoting while hosting. So, he was just in luck that one John Oliver, who has had filled in for him before, had just wrapped season one of Last Week Tonight at HBO and was free to fill in.

Watch Oliver sit once more at The Daily Show desk right here.

The confusion and rush of a midterm election can rival that one of a presidential one, you shouldn’t worry about what mudslinging ad campaign you’ll side on this year.

The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are set to air live on Nov. 4th, the fateful day of this latest midterm election to make, at the very least, you laugh and hopefully understand some of what’s happening along with a chat between Jon Stewart and Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus.

Also, the aptly titled “Democalypse 2014: America Remembers It Forgot to Vote” and “Midterms ‘014: Detour to Gridlock: An Exciting Thing That I Am Totally Interested In—Wait! Don’t Change the Channel. Look at this Video of a Duckling Following a Cat Dressed Like a Shark Riding a Roomba! ‘014!” should be enough to already make you feel good about the 4th that has no fireworks.

While Michael Che’s tenure at The Daily Show was brief, The Daily Show has not wasted any time in finding a replacement.

In fact, they’ve just hired two really good replacements in Hasan Minhaj, who we would hope you would know from his stand-up and hosting Stand Up Planet, and internationally touring comedian Trevor Noah.

Be absolutely sure to check out their segments in November and December, respectively. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Jon Stewart fell ill last night to the point where he could, for the night, not fulfill his duties as host of The Daily Show. So, filling in for him, was Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones who tussled back and forth with another Daily Show correspondent/his wife Samantha Bee.

On top of all of those hijinks while Jon’s not at home, Jones and Bee enjoyed a reunion interview with former correspondent Wyatt Cenac and some nice pie.

Who knows what these kids will get into if Jon’s not home again?

Behind the face of The Daily Show and its host Jon Stewart is an entire, well oiled machine that maintains one of the sharpest comedy shows around as a perennial award winning comedy series.

Now, you can hear their story in a podcast called The Daily Show Podcast Without Jon Stewart that follows the folks on the show that are exclusively not Jon Stewart.

They just released their first episode with head writer Elliott Kalan and correspondent Jessica L. Williams, so you’ll probably be adding this to your regular podcast list soon.

Watch Jon Stewart Make a Great Interview Out of Almost Nothing

Last night on The Daily Show, Elisabeth Moss was the guest as she was promoting her new film The One I Love. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the film, she can’t really talk about it all that much just like so can’t talk about it that much, leaving little to talk about.

So, that leaves Jon Stewart to showcase his marvelous interviewing skills by figuring something else out, seemingly on the spot and doing most of the talking. It’s probably the most undervalued skill set of a TV show host. We would be surprised if this was all covered in a pre-interview.

Watch it all here.

On Leno’s Final Night of Tonight Show, Kimmel, Conan, Letterman, The Daily Show Go Big

Tonight, Feb. 3rd, 2014 will be the final night of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show after well over a score of years. Of course, it’ll be a big celebration at The Tonight Show with Billy Crystal as the guest.

However, Jimmy Kimmel with cast of Monuments Men including Matt Damon and Bill Murray, Conan with the entire cast of The Walking Dead, David Letterman with Michael Keaton/The Flaming Lips w/Sean Lennon, and The Daily Show with NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio are making the 11PM hour fierce.

We wouldn’t be surprised if everyone has a joke about a Leno leaving in their monologue tonight as well.

The Daily Show Promotes Three To Executive Producer

As Rory Albanese and Tim Carvell have left The Daily Show for a development deal and showrunner of John Oliver at HBO respectively, there was room for EPs there.

So, The Daily Show went internally and hired three of their long time staffers in Steve Bodow, Jen Flanz, and Adam Lowitt.

John Oliver Leaving The Daily Show to Star in HBO Show That Sounds a Lot Like The Daily Show

Just like that scene at the beginning of Inception where Cobb impresses Saito at the covert audition, HBO must have been really impressed with the Summer of John Oliver at The Daily Show and are giving him his own show that looks at politics, culture, and more (seemingly much like The Daily Show).

That only leaves us to wonder if there is a heir apparent in mind now for Jon Stewart?
