2) Kristen Wiig gets to “Here’s the Thing” with Alec Baldwin…

3) Tonight on late night:

Jane Lynch on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC 11:35PM)

4) The Laugh Your Ashville Off Comedy Festival out of Asheville, North Carolina is both having Jim Gaffigan perform and now accepting submissions. If you haven’t already clicked the link for more info, then do it now.

5) Hello Giggles got an extended preview of Lena Dunham’s Girls on HBO…

6) Give a hand to David Seger who did a vocal audition for M83 and taped a camera to a whiskey bottle for his latest short, Charlie’s 34th Birthday.

7) The Napa Valley Film Festival is now accepting submissions…

8) An open mic at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival called RAW Comedy apparently is prohibiting material “…that is racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise seriously offends the sensibilities of the audience.” Comedy is never without a sense of irony even if it’s at its own expense.

9) If you’re looking to defend picking up an issue of Playboy, reference the Jimmy Pardo interview in last month’s issue with photo by Mandee Johnson.

The amazing and wonderful Jimmy Pardo from Never Not Funny and Conan was interviewed by Playboy Magazine last month and used one of my Polaroids from the show.  Thanks Jimmy!

10) Chris Fleming, in a brand new web series, isn’t a man or a woman; just Gayle.

11) What’s in a name? Everything; especially if you’re name is “rape joker”.

3) In only a few days, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival will get underway, but if you can’t make the trek from LA, or elsewhere, to Portland, there’s the LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival in two weeks that you may also make the trek to if you’re from elsewhere.

4) This is the last day to vote for all the voter categories for Comedy Central’s Comedy Awards…

5) Any Easter humor today is totally eclipsed by Brian Blaquesmith’s tribute to the late Thomas Kinkade (via @pattonoswalt)

6) Just in case today is making you feel generous (for whatever reason that would make you so) Jesse Thorn’s MaxFunDrive is ending today and Creepy Caress’ Kickstarter still has a way to go.

7) We had no idea that the hilarious Kristine Levine has a podcast about having worked in a porn store. Check out the KA podcast.

8) Speaking of podcasts, Sean Green briefly conquered “comedy podcast” on Google…

9) Even if it was just for 5 seconds, I consider it an Easter miracle that people stopped talking about The Hunger Games.

1) What’s that? You want to see Marc Maron, Johnathan Katz, and Maria Bamford in a web sitcom-ish cartoon set in Noah’s Ark? OF COURSE YOU DO.

2) Last night’s Conan had Chris Elliott discover the best way to drink when you’re depressed and Cy Amundson make his late-night stand-up debut.

3) Perhaps the Peabody Awards get comedy more than the Golden Globes for not having a comedy and/or musical category and just giving awards to Portlandia, Parks and Recreation, and The Colbert Report.

The Colbert Report Wins Second Peabody! Who’s not nothonoring Stephen Colbert now? It’s the Peabody Awards, who just announced that The Colbert Report is among this year’s recipients. Click the image to watch Stephen react to the first one back in 2008, then tune in to an all-new episode tonight at 11:30/10:30c. (Photo by Will Ragozzino/Getty Images)

4) Tonight on late night:
Jeffrey Tambor on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS 12:35AM)
The Moth on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC 1:35AM)

5) Wayne Brady will replace Louis CK at the RTCA Dinner and likely does away with all the good will that Chappelle Show sketch did for him unless he will be that Wayne Brady.

6) Meet the cast of the In Living Color reboot…

7) You’ve seen the conclusion to the Channel 101 series Intimate Indiscretions, right? Simply put, it’s fucking amazing.

8) To submit to:
Mondo Media wants ideas for animated short series…
Feel Good Film Festival
Top Story Weekly is looking for writers…

9) Live comedy abroad-ish:
Scott Pilgrim screening at the Brattle Theatre
Doug Stanhope UK Tour
Drew Carey and the Midnight Show in Phoenix

11) On today’s Puddin’, it’s a completely normal first day for Dana Gould as shown by David Koechner and Eddie Pepitone.

12) At this point, we feel obligated to link to Dan Harmon apologizing to Chevy Chase for playing his angry voicemail at Harmontown, but, for the record, for about 95% of this story, in our opinion, this has been unnecessary gossip.

13) After being goaded to impress a slutty looking girl who I don’t want to go out with because a comedian asked me to, I get why some people hate seeing comedy.

comedy news, los angeles

1) Comedy Central is rolling out the hour comedy specials like nobody’s business today. On Apr. 21st, Paul F. Tompkins’ storytelling special Laboring Under Delusions on Apr. 21st right after Patton Oswalt’s Finest Hour makes its network TV debut. THEN, Hannibal Buress’ Animal Furnace will debut on May 20th. All we can say is, damn.

Whatever the post-landline-era equivalent of taking the phone off the hook is, you’re going to want to do that on April 21. It starts at 10/9c with the network television premiere of Patton Oswalt’s Grammy-nominated special Finest Hour. Then, at 11/10c it’s the premiere of Paul F. Tompkins’s brand-new one-hour stand-up special, Laboring Under Delusions. Extended and uncensored versions of both specials will drop on DVD the following Tuesday, April 24. (photo credit: Mark Davis)

2) Woody Allen is continuing his “European Comedy Film Tour” with his next film To Rome With Love. Here’s the trailer.

3) Want a preview of Jim Gaffigan’s upcoming special Mr. Universe? Jim Gaffigan’s got you covered.

4) Watch Keith Apicary/Nathan Barnatt straight-up fuck up everyone at a music video audition while wearing a fanny pack.

5) The Letterman-Ferguson late night duo will stay at CBS through 2014…

6) Weird Al Yankovic just premiered his web interview show, Face to Face, on the Nerdist Channel.

7) Tonight on late night:
Chris Elliott and Cy Amundson on Conan (TBS 11PM)
Maya Rudolph on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC 11:35PM)
Rachel Dratch on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (NBC 12:35AM)
Ted Danson on The Late Late, Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS 12:35AM)

Last night on late night, Kate Miccuci showed Conan their “beach date”.

8) Patton Oswalt will be hosting this year’s Webby Awards and should set the standard for awards hosting in 2012.

9) Carol Hartsell of Huffington Post Comedy personally responded to Two & A Half Men creator Lee Arohnson’s comment about their being “peak vagina on television”.

10) On our latest episode of This Better Be Funny, we try to come up with the grittiest TV shows for children and pitch the worst movies ever with hysterical guest Andy Peters.

11) HEY! If you want to laugh at something, then laugh. Don’t let the fact that you’re the only one laughing stop you from doing so. Especially when it comes to a live comedy show, your laugh might just save a comedian’s life. (I am the Comedy Bureau and I approve this message).

1) Check out the awesomeness that will be the Bridgetown Comedy Festival this year now that their calendar is updated…

2) The Nerdist YouTube Channel has gone LIVE! In case you we were wondering what the programming schedule was kind of like, Chris Hardwick gave us one…

3) Congrats to LA’s own Jen Murphy and Andrew Sleighter for finishing in the top four in the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival!

4) Tonight on late night:
Kate Miccuci on Conan (TBS 11PM)
Moshe Kasher on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC 1:35AM)

5) Jon Daly’s Rafflecast has finally made it’s return with Megan Amram, Rob Huebel, and Brandon Johnson as guests!

6) Not that it should be a surprise to any of you, but Alf Lamont’s article about the lack of right-wing comedians has sparked a response from a right-wing comedian on Breitbart.com.

7) We have no idea what Jason Segel and Kelly Oxford are concocting, but whatever it is, even if it’s set at the bowling alley where this Instagram was taken, we’re excited.

I throw peace signs much harder than the bowling balls Jason Segel throws. FYI- We’re now writing partners and are going to destroy everything in a way that will make you feel whole again.

8) Ladies and Gentlemen, Michael Scott’s Threat Level Midnight as a Criterion…

9) Tracy Morgan can’t speak in tweets. Here’s the proof.

10) At this year’s Comedy Awards, Don Rickles will be honored with the Johnny Carson Award for Comedic Excellence. Also, you all still have time to vote for the 6 Viewer’s Choice categories for The Comedy Awards.

11) In case you missed it last night, #PFTGOT (Paul F. Tompkins live-tweeting Game of Thrones Season Premiere)

12) Did you ever hear what the real person said to the alt comic? “What the hell is an alt comic?”
