You thought you saw a lot of promise with the last trailer for Masterminds. With this new trailer, more promise of a crazy heist comedy is coming to fruition.

Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, and Owen Wilson are some of the luckiest inept thieves of all time, then hilarious have it out with each other as movie bank thieves do.

Watch the trailer here, then look for Masterminds in theaters on Aug. 19th.

Feeling tempted? Watch Will Ferrell star in A #DeadlyAdoption tonight at 8/7c. pic.twitter.com/05czAddici

At one time, we all thought that A Deadly Adoption might have been nixed even though it reportedly was already in the can.

Luckily, that was all a ruse and the premiere of A Deadly Adoption with Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell playing up all the Lifetime TV movie tropes is happening tonight on Lifetime at 8PM.

With both this and Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever on their resume, we’re curious to see how else Lifetime will expand and redefine their brand in the coming months.

Here’s The First Trailer For IFC’s “The Spoils Before Dying”

IFC will have its latest mini series adaptation from the fictionally legendary author Eric Jonrosh (Will Ferrell) and his “masterpiece” The Spoils Before Dying next month on Wed. Jul. 8th at 9PM.

It’s a meta tale of murder, mistaken identity, jazz and questioning tropes of the whole film noir genre.

You can a great feel for just that in trailer right over here.

If you were wondering how much of a send-up/tribute the Lifetime-esque movie A Deadly Adoption with Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig would be of Lifetime, you’ll enjoy the full trailer that definitely shows all the Lifetime movie tropes and then some.

It premieres this Sat. Jun. 20th at 8PM on Lifetime.

Get Your First Look at Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig in Lifetime Movie “A Deadly Adoption”

A teaser for the intentionally campy Lifetime movie A Deadly Adoption starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig was just released today, which should further convince you that the movie is going to premiere on Jun. 20th.

We’re guessing that you should get ready for some of Ferrell’s best outbursts since in some time.

Looks Like That Will Ferrell/Kristen Wiig Lifetime Movie “A Deadly Adoption” Is Happening After All

Unless Ferrell and Wiig are doing a sort of long game prank, the overwrought Lifetime style movie will be coming this month.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig would be doing a sort of send-up of Lifetime movies on Lifetime, then it was supposedly scrapped as the news was supposedly leaked.

A billboard that was reportedly spotted says otherwise.

The date June 20th, the Lifetime logo, and Ferrell and Wiig’s face show that this movie might indeed be happening.

We’ll all have to wait almost three weeks from now to see if that’s true, but, at this point, we wouldn’t be surprised if this is still just a bit.

Catch “Welcome To Me” As Soon As You Can

kristen wiig, welcome to me

It came out last week in limited release and we can only hope that it gets to expand to more theaters soon as a great alternative to the big summer blockbuster fare.

If you’ve been waiting for a moment where Kristen Wiig gets to go full Kristen Wiig, so to speak, that moment comes with Welcome To Me, directed by Shira Piven and written by Eliot Laurence. Seemingly, every off-kilter quirk gets full range to go wherever Wiig wanted it to, whether it be somewhere hysterical, dark, or between the two. The premise of a mentally unstable person winning the lottery and then making her own talk show really did provide a great stage to showcase Wiig and have a great supporting cast in Joan Cusack, James Marsden, Linda Cardellini, and Wes Bentley to contrast as the “straight men”.

It’s playing at Sundance Sunset Cinemas in West Hollywood and, if it wasn’t clear, we suggest you go catch it as soon as you can.

Kristen Wiig Goes on “The Tonight Show” as Khaleesi

How much do you wanna bet that the pre-interview for this didn’t go past, “Well, Kristen’s just going to come as Khaleesi.”?

In her tradition of showing up as famous personalities that she, seemingly on purpose, doesn’t research all that much, Kristen Wiig came on to The Tonight Show as Game of Thrones’ Khaleesi. It’s probably the best way to promote her movie, Welcome To Me, about a slightly abnormal person winning the lottery and making their own talk show as well.

Of course, Wiig didn’t disappoint and we’d like to think that Westeros would just come under this Khaleesi’s rule by her charm alone rather than the threat of dragons.

Watch it all here.

Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig Will Be in an Intentionally Campy Lifetime Movie “A Deadly Adoption” UPDATED: This Apparently Isn’t Happening

Uncategorized

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Though the news broke on Apr. 1st, this apparently isn’t a prank.

UPDATE: (via Deadline): This movie was still apparently not a prank, but it wasn’t supposed to be leaked either and now Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig have reportedly scrapped the whole thing.

In order to commemorate Lifetime’s 25 years on television, they’re poking fun at themselves by having Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez make a hammed up version of their already maudlin TV movies that they’ve become famous for.

The movie is going to be called A Deadly Adoption and will star Ferrell and Kristen Wiig where the two try to adopt an unborn child of a mother that they’re giving shelter to. As an added bonus, Spoils of Babylon writer Andrew Steele penned the script for the TV movie, which sounds pretty perfect to us.

So, it would seem that along with the Grumpy Cat movie last year, Lifetime is willing to have more fun these days.

Zach Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig Are Some Charming, Hapless Bank Robbers in “Masterminds” Trailer

More intriguing than a heist that involves stealing $17 million is the fact that Zach Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig will be goofing around in the movie that’s based around the true life story of said heist.

The trailer for Masterminds shows Galifianakis and Wiig as robbers that are, perhaps, in over their heads, but almost delightfully so.

Fans of 2001′s Bandits might dig this a lot, but we have a feeling that this will be a big Summer comedy hit with direction from Jared Hess and writing from a team including Jody Hill and Danny McBride..

Watch the trailer here.

Kristen Wiig and Haley Joel Osment Return and Maya Rudolph and More Join “The Spoils Before Dying”

Not that we had any doubts, but it looks the next installment of IFC’s Spoils mini-series franchise, The Spoils Before Dying, could be just as epically overwrought featuring one heck of a cast.

Already, they have Michael K. Williams starring and now, they have Kristen Wiig, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Sheen, Val Kilmer, Steve Tom, and Marc Evan Jackson returning from The Spoils of Babylon as well as new cast members including Kate McKinnon, Tim Meadows, Chris Parnell, Emily Ratajkowski, Andy Daly, Chris Mulkey, Chin Han, Jack Kilmer, Patty Guggenheim, and Bérénice Marlohe.

So, just imagine all of this cast in a noir-ish murder mystery that follows a jazz piano player, but does so according to the words of Eric Jonrosh (Will Ferrell in a beard, fedora, and fat suit).

“Welcome To Me” With Kristen Wiig Has a New Trailer Just as Delightful as The Last One

Over a month ago, a wonderful trailer was briefly released for “Welcome To Me” starring Kristen Wiig as an off-kilter lottery winner that starts her own talk show with her winnings. Then, it disappeared.

Almost a month later, there is a new trailer that you should watch just as obsessively as you did the last one. There’s probably never been a movie that’s more perfect for Wiig and, we’ll say it again, Kristen should probably have her own show like the fictionalized one in this movie.

OK, that’ s enough from us. Watch the trailer for Welcome To Me here.

A lot of crazy things happened at The Grammys last night, most of them planned. One of the great, planned things was Kristen Wiig dancing, as only Kristen Wiig can dance, with Maddie Ziegler, Sia’s recent go-to interpretative dancer, for a live performance of Chandelier.

On Sun. Feb. 15th at 8PM, Saturday Night Live will celebrate their 40 years on NBC. They made some quick announcements during the Super Bowl of who will be appearing on this special anniversary episode spanning the entire generations of SNL including:

Bill Murray, Kristen Wiig, Laraine Newman, Eddie Murphy, Norm MacDonald, Peyton Manning, Fred Armisen, Chris Rock, Dana Carvey, Will Ferrell Seth Meyers, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Garrett Morris, Amy Poehler, Steve Martin, Molly Shannon, Martin Short, Tom Hanks, Maya Rudolph, Dan Aykroyd, Jim Carrey, Alec Baldwin, Jason Sudeikis, David Spade, Paul Rudd, and Mike Myers.

There’s plenty of more names that were dropped and probably more to come.

We can’t even imagine what they’ll end up cutting for time.

What If Kristen Wiig Won The Lottery and Created Her Own Talk Show? Watch Trailer for “Welcome To Me”

January 31, 2015
Uncategorized

After a series of dramadies and more grounded roles with Kristen Wiig, Wiig seems like she will get to be more of the wonderful weirdo that we all came to know and love on SNL in her latest film Welcome To Me from director Shira Piven and writer Eliot Laurence.

Wiig plays a woman who is more than a little offbeat, but then suddenly wins the lottery and creates her own talk show. The result, from this trailer anyway, seems to be Wiig getting to run with however absurd she wants to get.

After watching this, we hope that in some universe if not this one that Wiig would be the host kind of like she is here for a real talk show.

*Trailer has been taken down for the time being.

Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon Are Paul Feig’s New Ghostbusters

Rather than further the speculation on whether Chris Pratt will end up being a new incarnation of Indiana Jones, revel in the cast of Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot. Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon will strap on proton packs and take down ghoulies in what’s supposed to be a scarier take on the franchise.

Looks like Bill Murray was right on with two of the four choices.

The Antics of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig Make Golden Globes Worth Watching

Last night’s Golden Globes was the third and last time that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosted the ceremony and they did not disappoint. Their monologue had all their jokes and bits hit so well, as you’d expect for the room and over the telecast. They also didn’t shy away from the Bill Cosby jokes they said they were going to, an incredibly bold move for an awards show monologue.

This makes us think that they’re idea that this would be the last Golden Globes one worth entertaining.

However, it would also be worth entertaining the presenter segment with Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. Come to think of it, they would be a pretty great hosting duo as well, wouldn’t they? #GoldenGlobesSeason2?

Millennium Entertainment Set to Release Kristen Wiig Dark Comedy “Welcome To Me” in 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed the dark turn that Kristen Wiig had in The Skeleton Twins this year, so, naturally, we’re looking forward to another dark comedy starring her in 2015 in Welcome To Me.

In the movie, Wiig wins the lottery and then decides to make a TV show about herself, which seems like a perfect storm for a dark indie comedy.

Disney Pixar’s latest original, non-sequel film, The Good Dinosaur, is coming almost a year to the day from now (more precisely a year and 5 days on Nov. 25th, 2015).

The voices of Neil Patrick Harris, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Frances McDormand, and more will all play out the story of a dinosaur befriending a human. It undoubtedly will, like most of the Disney Pixar canon, make us all laugh and tug at our heart strings.

Just check out the first image of Arlo the Apatosaurus (i.e. “The Good Dinosaur”) above and try to be cold and heartless.

“The Skeleton Twins” Expands to 50 Theaters Today and You Should Go See It

The Skeleton Twins has played in LA and NYC for the week to a great critical and commercial reception and there’s definitely a reason, if not several, for why that’s happening.

The top billing from Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig doesn’t disappoint as they show how fun both of them hanging out during SNL rehearsals can be, but also they throughly go to dark places and make us want to follow them all the way there and back. Luke Wilson is also played beautifully as a stark contrast to their misanthropic, self-destructive duo. Co-writer-director Craig Johnson manages to take something that, on paper, could be just intensely dark and heavy, and presents with a deft, caring hand.

Constantly switching gears between the hysterical and the cathartic, it’s definitely worth checking out, especially since it expanded to 50 theaters this weekend.

Some of the best/worst times at karaoke are when overly excited people sign up for a song only knowing the chorus of the song. Inevitably, there’s a lot of mumbling, stumbling, and overall bewilderment between choruses.

That’s exactly what Kristen Wiig and Ellen DeGeneres did with Frozen’s hit song Let It Go (you might have seen Paul Scheer lipsync it on Mexican late night earlier) by butchering it beautifully on Ellen.

Please watch and enjoy here.
