Well, if you love schadenfreude and stand-up comedy, it’s doesn’t get more schadenfreude-ish than having comedians watch their earliest sets with other comedians commenting on it and a crowd strangers watching the whole affair.
That’s exactly what Jay Larson’s Burned Material will be when it kicks off at the end of the month at Nerdmelt with fantastic comedians Rory Scovel, Fahim Anwar, Brent Morin.
Tickets are $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

Basically, this is probably somewhere between Comedy Bang! Bang! and Shark Tank that actually awards $1000 grants to one lucky entrepreneur.
More specifically:
The Awesome Foundation is a worldwide network of people devoted to forwarding the interest of awesomeness in the universe. The Foundation distributes a series of monthly $1,000 grants to projects and their creators. The money is pooled together from the coffers of our self-organizing “micro-trustees” and given upfront in cash, check, or gold doubloons (but never actually in gold doubloons).
Matt Walsh, Scot Armstrong, Andy Richter, Brad Morris, Allison Raskin, and Jamie Denbo will make up the special panel for this Awesome Foundation Comedy Show.
Tickets are $25 and you can (and should) get them here. Also, you can get a VIP ticket that includes a meet-and-greet with Matt Walsh and Scot Armstrong before the show and a premium seat for $200.

Yes, The Comedy Bureau will have officially served the LA comedy scene for 7 years at the end of this month. That’s 56 years in dog years and (probably 70 in “bureau years”?)
This time, we actually took enough of a break to remind ourselves that we should put on a show (and actually try to make some money doing so).
As you can see from this scrawled upon napkin straight from the very desk of TCB itself, it ought to be a really good time. Also, there will be a raffle that includes fancy enamel pins, our album (more on that later), etc.
You can get tickets now for $10 or $15 cash at door. Get tickets, more details (that are more legible) here.
One of the UK’s beloved comedy duos, Max & Ivan, has crossed both the pond and the country to perform their award winning show The Reunion.
As of right now, this is a one-night-only special event, so you best get your tickets soon. They’re going for $7 and you can (and should) get them here.

Toasty is half real cocktail party, half fictional cocktail party with a bunch of characters giving toasts from folks that are, shall we say, not quite well-adjusted. It also happens to be one of our, hands down, favorite things ever.
The line-up would be stellar for a normal comedy show, but, as this is a slightly otherworldly show, it’s even more special.
Please get your tickets as soon as you can because space is limited. They’re $20 (includes free drinks and snacks) and you can get them here.

Second City will be doing two nights of Always Legal to Laugh, featuring all weed based sketches and improv, both from their archives and modern day originals, making for a nice way to remember that recreationally legal cannabis in California is only a few months away from being available.
They’re bringing their best and brightest to Hollywood’s Montalban Theater for the occasion including Frank Caeti, Edgar Blackmon, Jaime Moyer, Holly Laurent, Tawny Newsome, Eddie Mujica, Naomi Snieckus.
Tickets start at $25 and you can and should get them here.

This latest edition of Franky Guttman and Michael Bilow’s Dark Matters, a Coast-to-Coast-AM-ish comedy podcast that’s always recorded live, is going where they’ve never gone before. For the 30th birthday of Bilow will be taking a polygraph test with his parents, sister, and a crystal expert in attendance as special guests.
Not so many folks would be into publicly examining their life and what has led them to this point, but we’re sure this will end up being a birthday that Michael and everyone else in the crowd will never forget.
As with all shows at The Pack Theater, it’s pay what you can. Get more details here.

People being nice to each other is such a novel concept these days that having people competitively complimenting each other would indeed be a basis for a show worth going out to see.
That’s why we keep telling you to go to Kyle Ayers Boast Rattle, which has its latest edition this Thursday with a “joy-filled, rosy eyed” line-up.
Tickets are $7 and you can (and really should) get them here.

Sure, you’ve seen psychics. You’ve probably even seen funny psychics.
However, have you seen a funny psychic that derives their clairvoyance and sight into the future through three random songs from your personal music library?
Well, if you’re acquainted, either through national radio or podcast, with Dr. Lars Dingman, the “iTunes Psychic” then you know that a live edition of the iTunes Psychic is something you shouldn’t miss out on.
