Tina Fey on Handling Her Youngest Daughter, Her Nude Celebrity Photos, and Her and Amy Poehler’s Movie vs. Star Wars

Last night on The Late Show with David Letterman, Tina Fey sat down and chatted with Dave about the havoc that her youngest daughter is currently wreaking. Fey also discussed a fool proof plan for nude photos in the event that they were stolen from her and leaked to the Internet.

On top of all of that, she found out that the movie that her and Amy Poehler are starring in, The Nest, might be going up against Star Wars Episode VII in theaters next Christmas.

Needless to say, Fey isn’t worried about it all about handling her crazed daughter, taking down Star Wars on opening weekend and outsmarting celebrity photo thieves.

Bill Murray Day at TIFF must have gone well and The Weinstein Company could subsequently want to get St. Vincent out as soon as they can.

This week, Larry David gave a little, emphasis on “a little”, insight into what the upcoming Broadway play that he wrote and will star in called Fish in the Dark while on The Tonight Show.

He also, in very Larry David fashion, hopes that, if it bombs commercially and critically, that no one will be coming with pitchforks after him.

There Is a Birdman Talking Action Figure From Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman

While Iñárritu’s Birdman starring Michael Keaton is making the rounds at film festivals around the world and building up buzz, Empire Magazine posted a picture of an actual action figure of the former superhero character that Keaton plays in the movie.

It talks and has a great warning on the box and is certainly not the type of action figure for kids that have yet to really grasp what a mid life crisis is. Thus far, we’re assuming this is just a limited edition promotional figurine, but we’d be really surprised if this wasn’t available to purchase when it rolls out into limited release on Oct. 17th.

Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s What We Do In The Shadows Gets U.S. Distribution Deal

Before dealing with the speculation as to what he will be doing 4 episodes of with HBO and if it’ll involve Bret McKenzie, Jemaine Clement has co-written and co-directed what seems to be a great tongue-and-cheek vampire mockumentary with Taiki Waititi called What We Do In The Shadows.

While playing at TIFF, it has picked up a distribution deal to play here in the States thanks to The Orchard and Unison Films. That’s great to hear so we’ll get to see what 4 vampires living in New Zealand dealing with modern life will be like.

Rob Brydon and Michelle Gomez Join HBO’s Dark Geopolitical Crisis Comedy “The Brink”

The Brink starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins has just added Rob Brydon who we hope you have seen on The Trip or The Trip to Italy and Michelle Gomez who we’re sure you’ve seen on Doctor Who to the cast for a few episodes.

While there are plenty of parallels in the premises of both, there’s no trailer, teaser, premiere date, or any other such thing to clue us in as to how much The Brink might or might not be like the most famous dark satirical geopolitical comedy, Dr. Strangelove. The addition of Brydon and Gomez as a couple, while certainly a welcome one, only make us more intensely curious as to what The Brink will end up ultimately being.

James Corden Will Indeed Be Replacing Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show

September 8, 2014
Uncategorized

(via Entertainment Weekly)

A few months ago, there was a rumor that leaked that one James Corden from the UK would be replacing Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show at CBS. There was only one unnamed source and neither CBS, Ferguson, or Corden would confirm the rumor, so we continued to wait for the official word on CBS’ choice.

Well, as of today, CBS has confirmed that Corden will succeed Ferguson as another host from across the pond of The Late Late Show starting some time after Ferguson leaves in December and heads for his syndicated 7PM show through Tribute Media.

So, 2015’s CBS late night line-up will be The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden, which will be probably the most intriguing move in late night in the last few years.

The Geckos That John Oliver Had Us Rally Behind Passed Away While in Space

When Russia had lost contact with a space vessel they had sent up with geckoes for the sole purpose of seeing how they would mate in space, John Oliver and Last Week Tonight made a rally cry to go get those geckoes.

Joy was had when they reestablished contact, but, alas, when Russia was looking in the vessel upon landing, they found that the geckoes had died.

So, of course, Oliver had a very fitting tribute to the space sex geckoes on Last Week Tonight complete with duet with A Great Big World.

Chris Rock’s Latest Movie “Top Five” Reportedly Offered $12.5 Million Bid

(via Deadline)

Before embarking on his Black Plague Tour, Chris Rock has something else big on the horizon. His latest movie Top Five following a comedian turned movie star, in which he starred, written, and directed is making quite the ruckus at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Studios are in a bidding war of the likes that have been rarely seen at TIFF and Paramount Pictures reportedly has offered $12.5 million for the worldwide rights to the movie. Not only is that number impressive for a festival buy, but the movie itself only cost around $6 million to make.

So, Rock’s Top Five sounds like it’ll be pretty good.

James Franco Directing and Starring in Movie “The Disaster Artist” Following the Making of “The Room” To Be Adapted by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber

The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell tells the story of how Tommy Wiseau rose to fame, though probably not in the way that he thought he would, by making the infamous movie known as The Room.

James Franco is now adapting that book into a full length feature where he will play Wiseau and is having powerhouse screenwriting duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber write the adaptation. Franco does want Wiseau involved, but only in a finite capacity.

The trailer for this will undoubtedly go viral.

We highly suggest you do all of the above that right now.

Such is the case with his appearance on Conan last night with the one time he filled in for Joan Rivers on her late night talk show and the prank he pulled when leaving his handprints in cement at the famous Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Through a deal between 20th Century Fox TV and China’s Sohu, The Simpsons, for the first time, will be available throughout all of China with Mandarin subtitles. That includes this latest season of The Simpsons as well.

Given China’s history with censorship, we’re curious if everything will be translated properly and go to air in China unedited.

Though 22 Jump Street ended with an awesomely ridiculous montage of a flurry of Jump Street sequels, Rodney Rothman who helped write “22” has now been hired to pen the 3rd installment of the franchise, 23 Jump Street.

There’s no word on Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s involvement or if 23 Jump Street will follow the 23 Jump Street in that closing montage, but we’ll all probably be hyped for it either way.
