Former NSA Director To Be First Guest of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
As far as first guest choices, John Oliver and company are making a bold statement by not interviewing any of Oliver’s old friends or a big name or some cross-section of the two. Instead, Oliver is setting the tone for Last Week Tonight premiering this Sun. at HBO by having a former NSA director General Keith Alexander (Ret.) sit down and chat with him.
A choice like this definitely feels like Oliver is truly at the helm of the show and we can’t wait to see what Oliver gets away with in a few days.
In the middle of his interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Colin Quinn has some things he’d like to see on the show that would make it go viral in any way possible.

This week, Jim Gaffigan chatted with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and gave a pretty great preview of his fantastic (we’ve been playing the our press copy on repeat since we got it) new hour special Obsessed, premiering this Sun. on Comedy Central at 10PM. Really, Gaffigan simply did a nice chunk of his act in conversation, which left Fallon slapping his desk laughing throughout the whole thing pretty much.
Zooey Deschanel & Anton Yelchin To Star in Dark Comedy ‘The Driftless Area’
Even with a vague description of being “pitted against a volatile crook” and “falling for a enigmatic woman”, The Driftless Area could be promising for the fact that it’s a dark comedy with Anton Yelchin, who you might have just seen in Only Lovers Left Alive, and Zooey Deschanel starring.
Perhaps, by “enigmatic woman”, which we’re assuming is Deschanel, there’s a chance that Zooey Could be the type of crazy enigmatic that she played so well on Weeds.
With Last Week Tonight premiering this Sun. on HBO, John Oliver made a visit or, rather, he was summoned by Jon Stewart to The Daily Show, his former gig.

Seth Meyers To Host The 2014 Emmys
Seth Meyers will now add to his hosting resume of Weekend Update, the ESPYs, White House Correspondents Dinner, and, most recently, Late Night, The Emmys this year.
Though it would be unlikely, it would be great if Donald Trump was in the audience and Seth could roast him all over again.
Last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Gary Gulman shows how great word choice can be when doing stand-up, especially when it comes to talking about Hitler, the Jews, and God.
Andy Peters Is Recording His Debut Comedy Album
One of our favorite comedians to watch around LA or really anywhere as he’s played so many of the comedy festivals around the country is Andy Peters.
He’s finally recording his first comedy album, as presented by The Super Serious Show, another favorite of ours, Wed. May 7th at the Virgil 7PM and then, hopefully, more of the world laugh as hard as we do at his spirited and hysterical performances.
