There’s Almost Too Much Fun To Be Had at the Todd Glass Show

August 30, 2013
Uncategorized

If you just thought listening to the audio of the Todd Glass Show was amazing, just look at the shenanigans that happen in the studio with toupees and dancing and Eddie Pepitone when coupled with video.

Todd Glass and company almost seem like they’re having so much fun that someone is going to tell them to keep it down, but, luckily, it’s Todd and that isn’t going to happen.

Bill Murray making an appearance for David Letterman’s 20th Anniversary of hosting The Late Show at CBS did not disappoint.

Just watch Bill’s dazzling entrance, his gift to Dave, his time capsule, and a special song, and wish every episode of The Late Show kind of went like this.

Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael Have a Bunch of Fun in Ass Backwards Trailer

While there is a story of former child pageant stars grown up trying to relive their former glory, “Ass Backwards” seems to be a great vehicle for Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael (and a bunch of great co-stars in Alicia Silverstone, Bob Odenkirk, Paul Scheer, and more) to showcase just how funny they are.

Watch the trailer for “Ass Backwards” here.

The Moth Publishing Stories in Print

The cult phenomenon of The Moth Storytelling series is now putting several of their best tales from the hundreds that have been told under their banner into print. For the point of The Moth being stories that are told in person, it seems a little odd, but as they’re also well told stories, it’s a very natural move.  To be included are stories from such great and funny storytellers as Brian Finkelstein and the late Mike DeStefano.

“The Moth” is now on pre-order to be released on Sept. 3rd.

Andy Daly’s “Review” Coming to Comedy Central in 2014

There were a lot of really intriguing projects that were on this year’s development slate over at Comedy Central such as Andy Daly’s Review show where he’ll review kind of anything.

Don’t worry if you were thinking it wasn’t going to air; just know that you’ll have to wait until next year for that to happen (OK, stop making that face–if you can wait until 2014 for a new season of Louie, you can wait a few more months for this).

Taylor Williamson Is The Only Other Comedian To Get to Finals on America’s Got Talent

On the last season of America’s Got Talent, Tom Cotter was runner up in the show and that’s as far as any stand up comedian had ever placed on AGT. However, Taylor Williamson is poised to do either the same or actually win the show as he has just advanced to the finals this week.

Congratulations to Taylor and we really hope he wins it all (i.e. vote for him when the finals showdown comes around).

Justin Spitzer & Aaron Kaplan Sell Detroit Auto Co. Comedy Pilot to NBC

Another The Office-esque single camera comedy is coming from former Office writer Justin Spitzer at NBC this time, instead of a municipal government department or an office supply company, it’ll be set in Detroit at an automotive company.

So, we guess that there will be a darker tone? We’d more confidently guess, by this move, that NBC isn’t done with single camera workplace comedies though.

‘This Is the End’ Back in Theaters Next Month

While this is good news for both This Is The End and repeat audiences as well as people that didn’t get a chance to see it, this is definitely an intriguing statement on the Hollywood Summer Box Office possibly becoming a shadow of its former self.

Also, it’s great to see a somewhat original comedy feature (it was based off of a short film made by the same people) that critically and commercially fared well is what is being given a little credence, for a week at least, over another tentpole blockbuster a-list star filled adaptation of a YA novel series.

Bob’s Burgers Returning at End of September

Bob’s Burgers is coming back for its 4th season at the end of the month, Sun. Sept. 29th 8:30PM, for any of those wondering/need a specific date to look forward to.

Also, interesting to note is that Fox seems to be grouping all their animated shows under the Fox Animation Domination banner as you’ll see at the bottom of the Bob’s Burgers ad that John Roberts tweeted out. We wonder if that makes the Fox ADHD brand a little more well rounded.

A sequel to the 1994 buddy comedy “Dumb and Dumber” starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels is really happening sometime next year.

While doing a sequel 20 years later might seem suspicious, we’re sure that will be plenty of great memes and .gifs contrasting Harry and Lloyd with Will McAvoy and Joel Barish, respectively.

Funny or Die enlisted the comedic genius of Superego and both Paul F. Comedy Central’s Roast of James Franco Airs Tonight on TV and Online

The time has finally come for Comedy Central’s latest roast of James Franco, which many wonder will be the moment where these roasts take on the more traditional spirit of roasts by honoring the person being roasted. Having seen some many of the jokes being worked out around LA, we have faith that this might just be the case. A good tell tale sign of that is that if you see all the members of the dais, at the end of their sets, don’t say, “Thanks for being a good sport,” like they did for Donald Trump.

The Roast of James Franco is on Comedy Central (as well online at ComedyCentral.com) tonight at 10PM.

In short, don’t miss these.
