The games that Paul F. Tompkins plays with his guests on his candid interview show, Speakeasy, are just delightful. Case in point, letting Tony Hale as Buster Bluth finish off the beginnings of Mother’s Day sentiments.

Whether it’s surprising to you or not, traveling back in time to stop Hitler is something is joked about quite a bit in comedy. However, this bit from Myq Kaplan on his Conan set from last night is the best we’ve ever heard.
As far as physical comedy goes these days, the name you have to be looking for is Josh Fadem. This latest short is only one in a great series of Fadem doing simple everyday things and making them really funny crashing into them, etc.

FX Promoted John Landgraf to CEO

As John Oliver is filling in for Jon Stewart over at The Daily Show for the summer, Oliver is deadly terrified of what may happen and thus looking for any advice. While on Letterman last night, Oliver got Letterman’s advice on how to avoid talking about a movie while promoting it, which was pretty great.
In a related story, Brian Williams made a sincere gesture to Jon Stewart last night on The Daily Show to not let this “Oliver Twist” guy take over at the top and end of the interview.
It was honestly only a matter of time before Nick Offerman, the man we’ve mythologized from his facial hair alone, was going to come out with a book on how to live life to the fullest. It’s coming this fall in the form of Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man’s Principles for Delicious Living and if you’re looking for a small preview, Offerman gave a taste on Conan last night.

Based off this cast list, we very well may see Aubrey Plaza mime the words of Kyle Kinane in the drunk retelling of The Haymarket Riot. We cannot wait for July 9th when Drunk History premieres on Comedy Central.
The very funny Will Weldon has started a new web series, “One Night Man”, where he gives us more clear picture of what someone is thinking during a one night stand by letting us hear the thoughts of someone going through it, even when the one night stand goes horribly awry (come to think of it, isn’t that what always happens?)
Either way, it’s hilarious, dark, and worth watching now.
Well, it looks like September is going to bring a whole new season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia as well as an entire new comedy channel in the highly anticipated FXx.

FXx Makes First Series Order with Danny McBride’s Animated ‘Chozen’
The process of programming an entire comedy channel at FX’s comedy spin-off channel, FXx, has begun.
Just as it has been confirmed (as was suspected) that Eastbound & Down’s latest season will be its last, Danny McBride is already set for his next project, an animated comedy at FXx called ‘Chozen’.

Andy Kindler did a set on The Late Show with David Letterman last night and we’re so happy the rest of the country got to learn Kindler’s comedy formulas chunk as well as his transitions bits, and a third comedy technique that you’ll just have to watch the set to see.
All comedy 101 aside, it’s good to see someone finally get fun and loose on Letterman.
