Two Del Close Biopics Are In The Making

The legendary improv comedy guru, Del Close, has two different feature length films being made on the subject of him. We’re glad to see that he’s getting that much respect, but we wonder if this will play out like every duel between movies that were really similar (Capote & Infamous, Deep Impact & Armageddon, etc.)

Perhaps, the Internet will show TV what it was missing (RIP Sports Show with Norm MacDonald).

Is It That Surprising That Jimmy Fallon Would Succeed Jay Leno and Seth Meyers Succeed Jimmy Fallon?

March 22, 2013

fox, jay leno, jimmy fallon, late night, nbc, seth meyers, tonight show

There has been plenty of gossip and rumors over the last few days regarding the transitioning of Jay Leno at The Tonight Show to move to NYC and handing the reins to Late Night host, Jimmy Fallon. Even though the deal hasn’t been officially made, there’s even more speculation with Seth Meyers possibly filling in for Fallon if he indeed goes to 11:30 or Fox wanting Leno.

Again, this is still all based on high ranking NBC sources and not a done deal.

Having The Tonight Show move back to NYC might be a little surprising, but the rest of this seems pretty straightforward and pretty much in line with NBC’s current tone of late night comedy. If the worry is about the younger demographic (i.e. competing with Jimmy Kimmel), why aren’t they trying something a little different, tonally, like IFC or FX?

The legendary non-stop (shows happen all 24 hours in a day for a few days) improv extravaganza over a weekend, is coming closer, Fri. Jun. 28th-Sun. Jun. 30th, but there’s still time to submit, which you should do if you have an improv group in NYC or can get there at that time, until April 2nd.

This was all amazing, hilarious, and happened in the span of a couple of days. If you’re not going to see live comedy, and we know this almost sounds obvious, please change that immediately and go to a show.

This Better Be Funny Ep. 65 Jake and Jeremy Go to Adultcon

This Better Be Funny

As the episode title suggests, Jake and Jeremy make their way past a man screaming fire and brimstone in front of the Los Angeles Convention Centerto Adultcon, mostly to see if Jake will freak the fuck out as he has claimed that sex terrifies him. Surprisingly, there’s a good amount of porn and non-porn booths, a thing that Jake is quick to notice and, no surprise here, they run into a comedian at a porn convention, Alex Loulis. Whether you’ll find out if Jake causes a scene or has a panic attack as boobs and penises are on screens everywhere, you’ll just have to listen to the whole episode.

Also, apologies for all the bad hip hop playing in the background.
