The juxtaposition of humor and gun control, especially right now, is one that is both tricky yet that seems to come up quite frequently. As NYC’s Yannis Pappas was indeed shot with a gun, he brings a very personal take with the humor, which is usually the best way around touchy subjects.

NBC Picks Up Pilot From John Mulaney and Lorne Michaels
It’s a multi-cam sitcom, but it is also written by and starring John Mulaney. In case you were wondering, especially after his fantastic stand-up special New In Town, Mulaney definitely deserves a show.
This means Tommy Johnagin and John Mulaney have projects at NBC, which makes us start suspecting that NBC meant to use a different word than “broad” regarding their new comedy strategy.

There Is Still Time to Submit to The Friars Club Comedy Film Festival
More and more, there are film festivals with a specific slant towards comedy. Certainly one that takes place at the famous Friars Club is one you should look into.
Their extended deadline for narrative and documentary features and shorts is Feb. 15th.
The recently launched Video Podcast Network started off with a live Comedy Bang Bang (see what we did there) streamed from this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Featuring Paul Scheer, Casey Wilson, Michaela Watkins, and host Scott Aukerman, we all get another shot (remember the IFC show?) of experiencing CBB with both our ears and eyes.
