Bob Odenkirk & Glenn Howerton Join FX’s ‘Fargo’

So, Colin Hanks, Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thorton, Kate Walsh, Oliver Platt, and now, Bob Odenkirk and Glenn Howerton will be part of the TV adaptation of Fargo at FX.

For the sake of all of us, this needs to go to air ASAP (or whenever the Coen Brothers think it’s good enough).

Ed Helms Producing NBC Comedy with Parks and Recreation Writer Aisha Muharr

NBC is doing good to stay with the folks that have kept their comedies critically acclaimed over the last several years.

Ed Helms not to mention a Parks and Recreation writer in Aisha Muharrar have NBC latest project on their development slate and we can’t wait to see what comes of all of this.

Comedian Bert Kreischer to Star in NBC Comedy

The life of Bert Kreischer will possibly be turned into a sitcom and we’ll finally get to see and hear it in a non-animated, non-stand-up format.

Hopefully, it will feature that Russian mob story.

Melissa McCarthy Producing Odd Couple Comedy For Fox

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone have sold another comedy project in 2013 making for possibly an era of television comedy where you know the producers names are now recognizable instead of heard about interviews or in books about eras of television. In addition to McCarthy and Falcone, Amy Poehler, Bob Odenkirk, Rashida Jones, Ed Helms, Louis C.K., Will Ferrell, and more are all producing various TV projects at this very moment.

We think and hope that the creatives being in control of the shows will continue this latest golden era of TV, especially when it comes to comedy

Just watch the gorgeous trailer that has all the makings of one hell of a parody.

Our LA Podfest Recap For Nerdist

Many of you who are fans of so many comedy podcasts were unable to attend even though you probably, as our readers, live within in Los Angeles County (we get it-you have stuff to do and it’s on the Westside).

Well, we went all weekend long and recapped all of what we saw and heard at Nerdist for those that didn’t want to make the drive. By the way, some people came from London, Sydney, and Washington D.C. for this.

Also, if you want a more visceral recap, please check out the hilarious Andy Peters’ Wandertown, a podcast that interview podcasters at a podcast festival and/or the livestreams from Dailymotion of several the live podcast tapings.

Honestly, we’re just happy to hear that Jay Larson and Sean Patton will be on TV and will also be on TV together.

It’s just the frosting on this cake that two of the funniest stand up comedians working right now that we should all know will be hanging out at America’s best bars.

Showtime Lands “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” from Aline Brosh McKenna & Rachel Bloom

Though a series called “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” could go several ways, it being at Showtime with the likes of Aline Brosh McKenna (Devil Wears Prada) and Rachel Bloom (who did this awesome parody of almost every top 40 song) should potentially make for something really great.

The Best of the Original An Evening at The Improv Now on DVD

A&E used to not have a bunch of reality shows and actually had stand up featured on their channel in a oft-referenced show known as An Evening at the Improv. Featuring the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Crystal, Fred Willard, Jim Carrey, Bill Maher, Michael Keaton (it’s the Michael Keaton you’re thinking of and he was pretty funny as a stand up), and more, you can now relive the last golden age of stand up before this current one.

Fox Won’t Air New Animated Series Murder Police; Shopping Series to Other Networks

Well, publicity move or not, the notion that Fox won’t air Murder Police but still want to shop it around elsewhere makes us wonder what exactly did they object to that is more extreme than any of their animated series, especially with what is made with abandon at Fox ADHD.

We wouldn’t be surprised at all, however, if the series stays within the Fox Entertainment Group family and ends of at FXx.

Well, aside from both Sean and Hayes being comedy writers and interviewing Jake Johnson from the hit sitcom New Girl, it’ll focus on the more industry side of things.

Adult Swim Is Airing Pilots from Tim & Eric and Paul Scheer

We’re not sure if how the pilots do ratings wise or reviews/internet buzz wise will affect their being picked up or not, but more networks could probably stop doing a lot of guess work if they aired their pilots.

Also, a Paul Scheer version of Pretty Little Liars is definitely something we want to see ASAP.

What could be considered an Australian version of Eureka is possibly coming to ABC, which is a pleasant surprise to see. For it being a high concept comedy and the director of Zombieland, the movie, on board, this might be worth ordering to series.

From the fallout of her writers at Fashion Police and their strike, Joan Rivers was up for a possible expulsion at the WGA, but has thus decided to support the writers by not rendering any writing services in hopes that the striking writers will return.

Currently, amongst those striking writers, Eliza Skinner currently writes for Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell and Bryan Cook tours with his Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction.

As of the time of this article, there is no word if the writers will return yet.

We’d hope that David Letterman does something like he did for his 20th Anniversary with Bill Murray to celebrate the occasion of extending his contract and keep doing stuff like that because it was pretty great.

We’d be happy to watch that type of Late Show well through 2015.
