‘Silicon Valley’ EP Alec Berg Inks Rich Overall Deal at HBO

Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley doesn’t even premiere until next month and the executive producer Alec Berg already has an overall deal with HBO. 

Of course, he’s written/directed/produced at Curb Your Enthusiasm as more cache for this deal, but we think that this is still a good sign that you should watch Silicon Valley.

In a reboot of the original landmark Chevy Chase vehicle, Jason Sudeikis picks up the role of Fletch. We had no idea that a new Fletch was in the works, but it’s not surprising that Hollywood would be doing another remake. 

Still, with that said, Sudeikis might do well for Fletch Won.

Online media distribution service VHX is now open to anyone who wants to sell their digital video content directly to anyone who wants to buy it.
Having previously worked with Aziz Ansari, Ira Glass, and more, VHX is something worth checking out if you can’t get your comedy special/film/etc. distributed through the traditional means of a network, studio, etc.

Season 2 of Maron Premiering in May, Conan O’Brien, Tig Notaro, Bill Burr & More Guest Starring

IFC’s Maron will return on May 8th for its second season with a boatload of guest stars including the aforementioned Conan O’Brien, Tig Notaro, and Bill Burr as well as David Cross, Tom Kenny, Moshe Kasher, Paul Feig, Chris Hardwick, Dave Koechner, Eddie Pepitone, Andy Richter, and even more than the already stacked list.

It won’t be able to take place of your weekly obsession over True Detective as the premiere is over almost two months away, but it’ll surely take up your time when it airs.

As you read above, Vimeo is pushing forward with $10 million to encourage their own content in the ever burgeoning hosting online video content.

Hopefully, this goes to a bunch of promising indie comedies that otherwise wouldn’t get greenlit from a studio because of any number reasons (usually they can’t A-list talent attached).

Hopefully, none of you chucked your PS3 for PS4’s too quickly as HBO GO is now available via your PS3. You can watch your favorite HBO comedies such as GIrls or Veep via your gaming console of probably the last few years.

Don’t get too excited though as you can’t just sign up for HBO Go on your PS3 without a subscription just yet because, well, actually, we don’t really know.
