While so much of this election is unbelievable, Adam Conover and the good folks at Adam Ruins Everything are going to show that there is precedence for the craziness of this year, effectively “ruining” whatever you were misconceptions you were having about politics being the way it is now.

The Adam Ruins Everything Election Special premieres tonight at 10PM on TruTV.

“Jon Glaser Loves Gear” Looks Pretty Damn Good in These Preview Clips

October 21, 2016
Uncategorized
jon glaser, jon glaser loves gear, preview, trutv

Jon Glaser Loves Gear is set to premiere next week on Wednesday, October 26th on TruTV. Leading up to now, the show has been shrouded in a bit of mystery, especially, for how layered it is.

Jon Glaser plays himself doing a show that reviews “gear” of all shapes and sizes and categories (bikes, tactical armor, socks, GoPro cameras, etc.). That’s one level of the show. Then, Jon also has to deal with the underlying universe in which the show operates. That includes a tense relationship with his wife, having an actress play his wife on his gear review show, having a somewhat sentient smart phone voiced by John Hodgman, etc. This kind of silly chaos is Glaser’s forte.

As all of these preview clips show, Glaser pulls this very meta premise off with flying colors and we think you should make a note now to watch the premiere Jon Glaser Loves Gear next week on October 26th.

Also, the theme song is extremely catchy and will undoubtedly get stuck in your head (in a good way).

Jon Glaser Loves Gear looks to be the multi-layered absurdist show that might spiritually follow up where Review with Forrest MacNeil left off as Jon Glaser reviews gear, but also struggles with personal issues that seep into reviewing gear and vice versa.

See for yourself in the first full trailer here, then look for the series premiere on Wednesday, October 26th at 10PM on TruTV.

After four seasons, some New Yorkers know that one Billy Eichner might be on the prowl with his subjective pop culture trivia games.

So, with season 5 coming soon, there are people who are as ready to have a surprise mic stuck in their face as Billy is ready to yell at strangers. Also, anyone from Jon Hamm to Aziz Ansari to Lupita Nyong’o are guests this time around.

Watch the trailer for season 5 here, then look for the premiere on Tuesday, November 15th on TruTV.

These Jon Glaser Loves Gear Promos Are So Promising

Jon Glaser has somehow managed to balance being grounded and also being absolutely absurd in a lot of his comedy, which is part and parcel of why things like Delocated are so beloved.

His new show, Jon Glaser Loves Gear, plays up this low key silliness in the best way possible.

See for yourself in these promos.

Then, absolutely tune in to the premiere of Jon Glaser Loves Gear on Wednesday, October 26th at 10PM on TruTV.

TruTV Greenlights 3rd Original Scripted Series “I’m Sorry” from Andrea Savage

Uncategorized

Do you even remember that TruTV used to deal in reality TV exclusively? Given how well their rebrand has gone, we’re guessing probably not.

TruTV’s progress as a comedy channel seemingly continues to go well as they have ordered a new sitcom from Andrea Savage (Episodes, Hotwives) that follows her actual life. It’s called I’m Sorry and slated for a 2017 premiere and has the likes of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, as well as Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer all as EPs in addition to Savage.

With Better Things, looks like female led sitcoms on cable based on the lives of real comedic actresses might become a trend.

It’s about time Jon Glaser was back on television.

Jon Glaser, of Delocated and Neon Joe Werewolf Hunter fame, has his latest show, Jon Glaser Loves Gear, coming next month on TruTV. True to Glaser’s brand of comedy, it’ll be a show that follows reviews of “gear” that goes on a deep and dark, personal tangent. The likes of John Hodgman, Janeane Garofalo, Jo Firestone, and Peter Grosz will be going on this journey with Jon.

A special sneak preview will air at 11PM on Tuesday, October 25th, then the actual premiere will be on Wednesday, October 26th at 10PM, all on TruTV.

TruTV Orders Bobcat Goldthwait Anthology Series “Bobcat Goldthwait’s Messed Up Stories”

It looks like Bobcat Goldthwait will finally bring his filmic vision (a la World’s Greatest Dad, Windy City Heat, Sleeping Dogs Lie, God Bless America), which he has been celebrated for, on to the small screen.

TruTV’s latest series order is quite the doozy as they’re giving Bobcat Goldthwait, who had been serving as a director on Those Who Can’t on TruTV, his own show that allows Bobcat to tell an anthology of different stories in different genres, all at his own whim.

Whether it be “1970s-era science fiction, psychological thriller, romantic comedy and reality”, Goldthwait will get to put his lens on it, which is reliably dark, unapologetic, and always hysterical.

If you’ve seen Bobcat’s work as an auteur, you’d know this is a big deal.
