Watch Sam Morril Return to Conan
Looks like NYC’s Sam Morril is on his way to being one of the regularly featured stand-ups on Conan.
He made his debut on the show last year and then notched in a fine set this week with his well crafted cleverness.
Looks like NYC’s Sam Morril is on his way to being one of the regularly featured stand-ups on Conan.

The triumvirate of IFC’s Documentary Now!, Seth Meyers, Bill Hader, and Fred Armisen all met this week on Late Night with Seth Meyers and announced that IFC had ordered seasons 2 and 3 of the parody docu-series.
Upon hearing the news for “the first time”, Hader “exclaimed” surprise and joy during his interview.
Any takers on what documentaries, doc styles they’ll parody in the coming seasons? Michael Moore, Alex Gibney, Act of Killing?
NYC’s Maggie Maye made her first stand-up appearance on Conan last night and made a very good first impression with jokes about her look to the secret behind the word “sassy”, and more.
Hopefully, it comes as no surprise that the star and co-writer of Mistress America is a delight to talk to.
Greta Gerwig is starting to make the rounds on late night in promotion of her latest film that she stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Whether it’s wanting to desperately be on Law & Order or talking self help books, Gerwig shows that she should be on late night way more often.
Never one to shy away from commenting on how an interview is going in the middle of the interview, Colin Quinn has taken analyzing his televised conversations with talk show hosts to the next level.
While watch him with Meyers about trying to not be in Trainwreck, Amazon book commenters, and…
…being banned in Afghanistan would be all well and good and funny on its own, Colin added another layer to the whole thing.
Watch him do a talking point-by-talking point breakdown with Seth Meyers after the taping. We hope future guests at Late Night with Seth Meyers and elsewhere think about rating their performance along similar lines.
Tom Papa got to do both stand-up and panel for his latest appearance on Conan, which really just made it a nicely done two-part stand-up set.
Watch parts one and “two” here.
The debate between the Republican presidential candidates is tonight and, as you probably well know, Donald Trump is among them. Having captured many jingoist, bigoted soundbites as well as a healthy lead in the polls, the world is poised to watch just what will come out of Trump’s mouth and how all the other candidates will have to respond.
To get you ready for tonight, Late Night with Seth Meyers’ staff writer and bit player Conner O’Malley simulated what tonight’s debate might look like. Watch it here.
While Michael Ian Black is often the sharpest wit on The Jim Gaffigan Show or wherever he happens to be appearing in person, he found that on a recent ride on a Tilt-A-Whirl that it isn’t as enjoyable as he once remembered it.
Watch him tell the story of how that happened on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Season 2 of one of USA Network’s best comedies, Playing House, premieres at 10PM tonight.
To get you primed for it, watch Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair give some steamy details about what’s in store for this season and a little preview from the first episode of season two.
The exuberant Russell Howard finally made a return from the UK to do stand-up on U.S. television after doing Conan a few years ago.
Last night, he made yet another good case on The Tonight Show for why you should know his name on this side of the pond.
Watch his set here to see why.
Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner’s Hulu series Difficult People is coming soon, which means that they’re thankfully starting to make the talk show rounds.
Their first stop was at Late Night with Seth Meyers and they revealed a little about what their executive producer Amy Poehler “is like behind the scenes”, if “you know” what “we mean”.
As David Letterman was making his exit from the late night world earlier this year, you might have heard that they were throwing away his set at The Ed Sullivan Theater.
Chris Gethard heard about that, and in a very appropriate symbolic move, took one late night’s legend trash in the hopes to make it his very own gold at The Chris Gethard Show now on Fusion.
Watch Gethard detail the whole experience on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Inside Amy Schumer received more than a few Primetime Emmy nominations yesterday. Amy Schumer got to mark the achievement, which comes in a concentrated period of her career chock full of achievements, milestones, and accolades for Amy, when appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
The great thing is that she’s pretty much the same Amy that America has come to love and applaud over the last year or so.
When she seems like some of the character she portrays…
…or trying to do bits at the Time 100 Gala…
…or hanging with her longtime friends at the premiere of her movie, Amy is quickly becoming an American sweetheart for 2015.
Also, we’ll say it once more: Go watch Trainwreck. It’s great.
While on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Mike Birbiglia talked the ins-and-outs of being in Amy Schumer and Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, which is, apparently, a little like getting a hotel bill after watching a bunch of porn in your room and then having an older sibling be better than you at whatever you’re best at.
Watch his interview on Late Night here.
Also, make sure to watch Trainwreck this weekend. You’ll laugh really hard at how Birbiglia is used in the movie.
John Roy took the stage at Conan for a great set in 2012 with a dark hoodie and a red t-shirt.
Three years later, he did pretty much the same thing with what looks to be the same hoodie and t-shirt combo and another great set. Maybe he’ll make it a tradition?
Watch this latest and greatest set from John Roy here.
Mark Normand has a great track record of doing stand-up on Conan. He marked his third appearance last night and, like his debut set, cruised down a row of applause breaks with jokes on gender roles, bathroom attendants, racism, and modes of transportation all nicely tied together.
Watch his set here.
LA transplant by way of SF, Jesse Elias got to perform his first late night stand-up set on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and really got to showcase the weird, wonderful, and detail oriented comedian that we’ve gotten to know since he moved here.
Please watch and enjoy his set.
James Corden has been hosting The Late Late Show for almost three months now and has waited to have his first stand-up comedian perform on the show, presumably to make it more special.
Well, Nick Thune made doubly sure, as the show’s first comedian to perform stand-up, that it would be unforgettably special.
So, without further adieu, watch Thune’s “award winning” first set here.
On last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jerry Seinfeld wasted no time in getting to pulling back the curtain on how talk show interviews are set up and his subsequent distaste for pre-interviews/artificial conversation.
He does give props to Meyers for not having notes visible on his desk.
Then, he moved on to commenting on political correctness and how he has found that it has gone too far .
Jerry makes solid points on both counts and will inevitably have people/the Internet endlessly debate and further entrench themselves in whatever side they take.
Whether you agree or disagree, it won’t keep from Jerry from joking about what he wants and avoiding talking to producers before he goes on late night talks shows.
Late night talk shows at 12:35AM were not only pioneered by David Letterman, but they were apparently kept afloat by Dave as well.
On last night’s Conan, Conan O’Brien expressed his gratitude to David Letterman in a story of how Late Night With Conan O’Brien turned the corner from a rocky start with the Letterman’s aid.
In an even more touching move, Conan, in the middle of his show, along with Patton Oswalt urged viewers to set their DVRs to record Conan and then switch to The Late Show as soon as it was starting.
Like we briefly mentioned yesterday, Conan O’Brien is now the longest running active host of a late night talk show. we’re glad to have an elder statesman that’s still up to orchestrated chaos reign.
Already, you’ve heard from Conan O’Brien and Jon Stewart on Dave’s departure from The Late Show.
So, as today’s the final day of The Late Show with David Letterman, the rest of the late night world gave their parting wishes.
Jimmy Kimmel gave one of his most heartfelt, sincere moments in his farewell to Dave.
Jimmy Fallon gave thanks to Dave for paving the way for what late night is now.
Seth Meyers told his favorite Letterman story as well as recreated the opening credits of Late Night a la Dave’s version.
There will be more of these to come to be sure.
The Best Show’s Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster got to sit down and chat with Seth Meyers about the history of The Best Show.
This includes fake and real callers to their show and how Tom will handle them or just hang up.
After this appearance, we’re curious what sort of callers The Best Show will get now and how weird they’ll be.
As part of TBS’ Upfronts presentation, Samantha Bee had a little teaser for her arriving at a new network and joining the male dominated late night club.
So far from this year’s Upfronts, other shows should take note on how to make an entrance from Bee.
The latest stand-up performance on Conan comes from Jerry Rocha who defies your expectations as someone who is Mexican, but kind of doesn’t look the stereotypical part.
As you saw with Tina Fey and the last fancy dress she’ll ever wear on Letterman, many women that make an appearance on a late night talk show go through a bunch of hoops, specifically in regards to their looks and what they’re wearing, in order to promote their movie, tv show, etc.
Inside Amy Schumer’s latest sketch summarizes the phenomenon with a little NSFW exaggeration pretty well.
Also, seeing Bill Hader as late night talk show host caricature is pretty great too.
