If you’re not on board the Caitlin Gill train yet or, in this case, inside the gigantic barbed wire boxing glove costume, then you need to get on board/inside ASAP. Gill has been killing it on whatever stage she has been on since she moved down from San Francisco and Caitlin doing an hour, along with Bobcat Goldthwait, David Gborie, and Clare O’Kane opening, is a must-see.

Long ago, before Rhys Darby was in a show about another musical sketch comedy duo, Rhys was part of his own musical comedy sketch duo with Grant Lobban called Rhysently Granted. Then, Darby rose to acclaim with his own comedy and playing a supporting role in that other musical sketch comedy duo’s show, Flight of The Conchords.
20 years later, Darby is teaming up with Lobban again to show us all what we’re missing. So far, they’re doing two shows in LA, one at the Nerdmelt Showroom on Tuesday, March 29th at 7PM and one at Westside Comedy Theater on Wednesday, Mar. 30th at 8PM, which will also include a solo stand-up performance from Rhys.

If you live in Hollywood, you learn almost instantly that it’s far removed from the glitz and glamour that’s depicted on stage and screen. One great example of that is the Ralphs on Sunset Blvd. that’s open 24/7, affectionately called the “Rock n’ Roll Ralphs”.
Steve Rannazzisi had an ordeal there that gives you an idea of why this Ralphs is “special” and has earned its “rock n’ roll” status in a story for This Is Not Happening with Ari Shaffir.
Exclusive: Comedian Dick Gregory to be honored with star on the Walk of Fame on Feb. 2. Via @WOFstargirl
— Variety (@Variety) January 27, 2015
If you’re perchance walking along Hollywood Blvd. gazing along the various names on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, wondering who is exactly who and why are they there, take note of the Walk of Fame’s newest member, comedian Dick Gregory.
In a time of racial tension and freedom of expression being questioned, Gregory, his comedy that bridged black and white audiences in the 60s, his activism in The Civil Rights Movement, and more deserve a moment of your time.
The ceremony with the star will take place on Feb. 2nd.

The Tonight Show is going to take a week and come back to the West Coast next February. Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, and company will first tape an episode in Phoenix right after the Super Bowl on Feb. 1st and will then head to Universal Studios Hollywood from Feb. 2nd-5th for a week of shows here in LA.
Fun fact: While The Tonight Show hasn’t been in LA since Jimmy Fallon took over as the host earlier this year, The Tonight Show hasn’t been on the Universal Studios backlot since The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.
Perhaps, there will be some fun crossover, rivalry bits between Conan and Fallon and Kimmel?
The Laugh Factory has gathered submissions from around the world of comedians vying for the Laugh Factory’s distinction of Funniest Person in the World. Ranging from Israel to South Korea to South Africa, there’s stand-up to watch from all over the world featuring the amazing comedic talents of people like Canada’s Mark Forward or the Netherlands’ Stefan Pop.
Through a few rounds of voting, any one of these people could win $10,000 and be part of a tour. So, give an international act a chance here in the States.
So, UCB Is Going to Have a New Space Near Sunset Blvd. x Western Ave.
There’s a building on the north side of Sunset Blvd., less than a block East of Western Ave. that has Upright Citizen Brigade posted on it in big bold letters. We’re guessing that’s it going to be a supplementary performance space for UCB, but no official announcement has been made.
However, new businesses can try to get in on being next to this new space, whatever it is.
