Well, here’s your first look at and reminder of the upcoming Comedy Central half hour specials (now branded as the third season of Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents) for:

Jaboukie Young-White, Sara Schaefer, Vanessa Gonzalez, Joe Kwaczala, Charles Gould, Will Miles, Nore Davis, Tom Thakkar, Dulcé Sloan, Allen Strickland Williams, Mia Jackson, and David Gborie.

From what we can see, it looks like it’ll be a good season. Check for it on Comedy Central starting Oct. 18th.

In case you haven’t noticed in LA, there has been a lot of comics doing more extended sets for various submissions to networks or streaming services (or maybe just do an extended set because stage time is a precious commodity out here). That means a lot of our favorite comics in LA that don’t normally get to do a half hour or more are also doing a half-hour or even a hour coming up.

Comedy Central Announces Latest Half-Hour Specials from Emmy Blotnick, Tim Dillon, Devin Field, Megan Gailey, Chris Garcia, Langston Kerman, Mike Lawrence, Ryan O’Flanagan, and Sarah Tiana

Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents, the current brand for Comedy Central’s half-hour stand-up comedy specials, has just announced a new line-up featuring 9 comedians that are, in our opinion, solid through and through.

If you’re in New Orleans at the beginning of next month, you can attend the tapings for these specials at The Civic in New Orleans. Tickets available here.

Those are the 14 names that will get to do a half hour Comedy Central special that will be now called “Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents” later this Fall. If you take a closer look, this might be CC’s best, most diverse half-hour line-up yet (i.e. it’s mostly fantastic comics that aren’t straight white guys)

Kind of harkens back to the days of when Comedy Central had “Comedy Central Presents”, doesn’t it?

The tapings will take place next month, Wednesday, April 19th-Saturday, April 22nd, in New Orleans at The Civic Theatre. You can get free tickets here.

Netflix Is Now Taping Half Hour Comedy Specials

Netflix has nabbed several golden geese with lining-up comedy specials from Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Louis CK, Amy Schumer, and Jerry Seinfeld.

That doesn’t mean they want to do comedy specials with some of comedy’s best rising stars.

So, with that in mind, they’ve gathered Nikki Glaser, Deon Cole, Beth Stelling, Fortune Feimster, and Dan Soder for half hour comedy specials, which is the next logical step for Netflix’s ever expanding stand-up and comedy empire.

If you’re in LA on Tuesday, February 28th and/or Wednesday, March 1st you can go the tapings at Cicada Restaurant in DTLA. RSVP for tickets here.

This week’s pairing of Comedy Central’s The Half Hour brings 22-23 minutes of heat from Naomi Ekperigin, who might have recently seen on Late Night, and Ahmed Bharoocha who has been one of our favorites for awhile now.

You can catch their half hours respectively at 12AM and 12:30AM tonight on Comedy Central.

Here’s this Ekperigin bit on becoming a Jewish wife if you’re still undecided with your plans tonight.

Given that Marc Maron’s brand new IFC series ‘Maron’ premieres tonight with an episode that wasn’t the one uploaded to YouTube and the very funny Dan Soder and Nikki Glaser’s half hour Comedy Central specials are premiering tonight, maybe you should stay in or don’t feel so bad for staying in if that’s your normal routine on Friday night.
