Sundance 2014 Adds Nick Offerman, Amy Poehler, and More David Cross to Its Lineup

Sundance should be thrilled that David Cross’ Hits and Nick Offerman’s American Ham directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts are coming to Park City, UT next year.

That’s right: Offerman has apparently made American Ham, his traveling stage show, into a movie.

David Cross Will Guest Star In A New Dungeons And Dragons Episode Of ‘Community’

In case you don’t know, Dan Harmon is a dedicated fan of Dungeons and Dragons (he plays it live on his podcast Harmontown) and is bringing that together on this latest season of Community along with the likes of David Cross.

So, it looks like there will be plenty to look forward to this season of Community in terms of it going wherever it wants.

In promotion of their book Hollywood Said No!, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross chatted with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show last night as to what exactly Hollywood executives rejected time and time again, but we have a feeling that it’s pretty great anyway.

Watch the interview here and then pick up the book here.

Just that should be enough of a pitch for you to buy it, but you might be interested in the audiobook version as well narrated by Cross and Odenkirk.

It’s kind of weird that David Cross is going on tour with Bob Odenkirk and goes on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to promote it, then Bob is just busy, right and can’t be there?

RIght? Well, luckily, Cross’ biggest fan was there to make up for it. Watch the clip here.

Wits Announces Fall 2013 Lineup Featuring Dave Hill, Maria Bamford, Jim Gaffigan, David Cross, and More

Wits, the true blue variety show taped, broadcast, etc. from the Fitzgerald Theater in Minnesota just announced the line-up for their series of shows coming this fall and it almost reads like a festival line-up.

In addition to have great musical acts such as Aimee Mann, Ted Leo, Yo La Tengo, and Busdriver, Paul F. Tompkins, Tim Heidecker, Dave Hill, Jim Gaffigan, Maria Bamford, David Cross, Ellie Kemper, and more are set to be part of various Wits episodes often in pretty great mini radioplays.

Luckily, they do tape much of the show and put it on YouTube like this clip of Maria Bamford and Bill Corbett & Kevin Murphy from Rifftrax spin on the Wizard of Oz.

David Cross partnered with Syd Butler at French Kiss Records and the Orchard Video Network to create FKR.TV, another online content network to feature original content, many of which will be in the form of a comedy web series.

“Law of the Land” is one of their first series that has a pretty great cast in Baron Vaughn, Brendon Small, Samm Levine, Chris Walsh, Ron Lynch, Matt Besser, James Urbaniak, Phil Lamarr, as well as the show’s writer Ali MacLean in a comedic take on Homeland.

We have yet to see a trailer or teaser before the premiere on Aug. 15th, but we definitely think you should keep an eye on this like we’ll be doing.

Odenkirk just tweeted that not only will all the above happen, but Brian Posehn will be joining them and tickets will go on soon for their tour that begins in September. Dates and pre-sale tickets links can be found @mrbobodenkirk on Twitter.

“It’s a Disaster” is Now on DVD

Without the benefit of a big budget, It’s A Disaster turned out to be one hell of a low key apocalypse dark comedy nicely written and directed by Todd Berger. It won’t have as much explosions or cameos from A-list celebrities (there’s David Cross, America Ferrera, and Julia Stiles if that’s what you looking for) left and right, but, if you get a chance, buy it and watch it on the recently released DVD.

Bob Odenkirk & David Cross Adding Stand-Up Tour to Promoting to Their Book

Two things regarding this:
1) This should be really great and you try to get tickets when they go on sale.
2) If you do get to go, resist in yelling out the name of your favorite Mr. Show sketch in the hopes that they’ll do it live.

As Nielsen Expands Scope of TV Ratings, a David Cross Movie Will Be Released on Vine

The Nielsen Company, in an attempt to more accurately represent viewership of TV shows with the current advent of the Internet and home/mobile devices, has agreed to expand the scope of their reported TV ratings to include Netflix, Amazon Instant, Xbox, Playstation, and the iPad. This is in addition to their Nielsen Twitter rating.

However, it was announced last month that the movie It’s A Disaster starring David Cross (it has a great trailer if you haven’t seen it already) from Oscilloscope will be put on the new 6 second video Twitter based app Vine.

We’re not exactly sure how all of this will play out or how much growing pains we’ll go through, but the once very segmented realms of movies, television, and the Internet are melding together, which is good, we believe, in the long run.

6) Though we’re sure you’ve probably seen this on much more high profile sites then ours, HDNet picked up Goodnight Burbank and David Cross will have an recurring role on Modern Family.

7) As the Joan Rivers episode of Louie expired on Hulu, I edited and expanded The Comedian’s Guide to Feeling Better About Making It In Comedy and posted it on Laughspin. Read both and you probably won’t care about one which one makes you feel better (even if you don’t do comedy).
