Conan O’Brien kicked off his week at Comic-Con appropriately with taking Mad Max: Fury Road’s Doof Wagon down from LA to San Diego.

On top of that, he found “secret” audition tapes for the new Wolverine that will soon replace Hugh Jackman which includes Hannibal Buress, Patton Oswalt, Larry King, and more.

Even more impressive than that, O’Brien passed a “Comic-Con Citizenship Test” proctored by none other than the Nerdist himself, Chris Hardwick.

This was all just Conan’s first day at Comic-Con and we can only imagine the possibilities of what’s to come. Let’s hope for special editions of Clueless Gamer and a walk from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on the Comic-Con floor.

So, either tune in to TBS tonight through Sat. at 11PM to catch what should be a damn fun week of Conan or, if you happen to be at Comic-Con, look for a red pompadour stalking above a sea of cosplayers to see what hijinks Conan O’Brien and Team Coco are up to.

Conan O’Brien’s latest remote segment follows him crashing, with permission, a girls’ night out comprised of his female staff to go watch Magic Mike XXL at midnight.

In case you’re already wondering, O’Brien did try some “Magic Mike” like dance moves to a variety of reactions.

Watch it all happen here.

They made an original Conan, Batman Conan, Zombie Conan, and a Monster Conan.

If you happen to be at Comic Con next month, you’ll have a chance to snag one of these babies for free.

Watch Conan and Andy fill you in with the rest of the details.

Clueless Gamer has just marked its very first multiplayer episode with a 3-on-3 showdown with Halo 5: Guardians.

Conan O’Brien enlisted the help of Aaron Bleyaert and Andy Richter to take on Thomas Middleditch, TJ Miller, and Zach Woods from Silicon Valley.

The results of the battle are all the trash talking, skill disparity based on generational differences, and bribing that you’d want from a Clueless Gamer battle.

Conan takes Bryce Dallas Howard showing off her amazing talent to the next level as a bit by juxtaposing it next to him being able to not run out of things to say about Home Depot.

Not that you were thinking this or that anyone is saying this can’t be done, but a woman crying can be funny.

Glad to see that the most veteran late night talk show host is still up to his tomfoolery.

The latest fun, interactive, experimental stunt that Team Coco is attempting to pull off is having someone stay in the rafters of the Conan set in the “Night at The Conan Studio” contest on airbnb.

There’s sure to be all sorts of hijinks that will make for plenty of great segments. You’ll even get to watch a whole taping of Conan from the literal bird’s eye view.

After being one of the most watch stand-ups on Conan, Jay Larson has his first sit down with Conan O’Brien to cooly shoot the breeze.

While chatting they cover Jay’s new exploits as a dad, crushing it right out of the gate and how Boston is, after all these years, still kind of the same.

Really, after this, we’re pretty confident that Jay might be one of the chillest dads of all time.

Conan O’Brien Gives His Staff Performance Reviews

With Conan O’Brien personally conducting the performance reviews, how well do you think Associate Producer Jordan Schlansky fared?

Conan donned a pair of intimidating glasses and the title of CEO of Conaco to give his staff a performance review.

As working at Conan isn’t like most jobs, these performance reviews were a little different from the norm (i.e. preparedness to save O’Brien in the event of an emergency). Obviously, O’Brien pays a visit to Jordan Schlansky to see what his worth to Conaco is.

On top of all of that, Andy Richter’s performance review is even more touchy than the rest and also pretty priceless.

Conan O’Brien Thanks David Letterman For Saving His Late Night Career and Tells People To Watch Letterman During His Show

Late night talk shows at 12:35AM were not only pioneered by David Letterman, but they were apparently kept afloat by Dave as well.

On last night’s Conan, Conan O’Brien expressed his gratitude to David Letterman in a story of how Late Night With Conan O’Brien turned the corner from a rocky start with the Letterman’s aid.

In an even more touching move, Conan, in the middle of his show, along with Patton Oswalt urged viewers to set their DVRs to record Conan and then switch to The Late Show as soon as it was starting.

Like we briefly mentioned yesterday, Conan O’Brien is now the longest running active host of a late night talk show. we’re glad to have an elder statesman that’s still up to orchestrated chaos reign.

TBS Orders Alien Abduction Comedy Pilot “The Group” From Conan O’Brien and Greg Daniels

(via Deadline)

TBS is really stepping up their game this year.

Shows from Samantha Bee and Jason Jones as well as Angie Tribeca already has raised anticipation of the new of programming coming to TBS.

TBS/TNT President Kevin Reilly is trying to keep that anticipation up on the TBS end with a pilot from the minds of Conan O’Brien and The Office’s Greg Daniels.

Their project, “The Group”, is centered on a support group for folks that think they’ve been through an alien abduction as they’re profiled by a very skeptical journalist. Of course, he becomes unsure of what’s going on the further he explores their stories.

We’d definitely hope this goes to series just so we can see the pilot of this.

If this goes well, maybe all those fake shows that Conan makes faux promos for might get reconsidered?

Conan O’Brien To Go on Six Week Long Remote Trips Next Year

Whether they read this thing we wrote awhile back, we’re thrilled to hear that Conan is going to roam more “in the wild” so to speak in 2016.

Probably one of the best parts of this era of Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show career is when he steps away from the desk and couch and goes out into the world. For years, O’Brien has made situations that wouldn’t seem to have any inherent comedy in them like delivering Chinese food, going into doll store, or doing commercial auditions, and make something absolutely hysterical. It’s comedy alchemy making comedy gold from seemingly nothing.

Conan’s trip to Cuba is proof positive of how doing an entire show of remotes would work quite well.

So, ahead of what is sure to be a memorable week at Comic-Con for Conan and company next month, we all have way more remote segments to look forward to from Conan in the form of six week-long trips starting next year.

Hopefully, this means more trips to breweries, distilleries, etc. where Conan tries to shorten the guided tour to get to drinking.

Conan O’Brien Might Have Found His Favorite Sexually Explicit Game on Clueless Gamer, “The Witcher III: Wild Hunt”

If there’s ever been proof that you can still be young/juvenile later on in life, Conan O’Brien is it.

The latest episode of Clueless Gamer has Conan O’Brien playing the big new video game title The Witcher III: Wild Hunt with Aaron Bleyaert. While there is plenty of hunting down monsters as a contract killer, Conan hears that might be sexually explicit scenes in the game and, like a teenager, he makes his entire goal to get to those parts in the game.

Yes, this is finally happening.

Last year, Conan announced that he was going to be taping a week of shows at Comic Con like he’s done all over the country in different cities over the years.

Well, July 8th-11th will be the dates that they’ll tape stuff from the world famous convention, which means they’ll actually have new episodes airing on Fri. and Sat.

Here’s Conan with all the details.

You have heard plenty and will be hearing plenty how much of an impact David Letterman made on comedy.

Pretty much all of it is worth watching, reading, etc.

As Dave’s final day, May 20th, at The Late Show nears, the reminiscing of Letterman’s landmark career has gotten well under way.

This week, a montage of his guests over the decades was put together showcasing Dave in his element with some of his favorite guests and favorite moments on The Late Show.

Also, Conan O’Brien wrote a heartfelt, personal essay at EW about what David Letterman meant to him and the state of comedy even as it is now.

Rest assured, there will be plenty more oral histories, speeches, etc. for Dave over the next two and a half weeks.

Jimmy Pardo Signs Overall Deal with Conan’s Conaco

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Maybe Pardo can now make an entire game show out of that one bit where audience members attempt to get asked questions by him.

Not only is Jimmy Pardo the longtime warm-up for Conan O’Brien as well as a regular guest, but he is now part of the Conaco empire after signing an overall deal.

For years, Jimmy has tried to develop various shows like Write Now!, The Weekly Awards, etc. and perhaps now has a better shot at getting those projects past being a pilot.

Pardo’s probably got a lot of very intriguing things that will come through this pipeline. Though we don’t know what it would entail, we’d imagine Jimmy doing some sort of game show named “Go Home and Google It”.

Conan Associate Producer Jordan Schlansky showed as much excitement as he’s ever shown and his face still barely changes expression.

To make things more “fun”, he’s enlisted the help of the infamous Jordan Schlansky who shows signs that he might possibly be excited.

Conan O’Brien and Jon Stewart are also set to be profiled and interviewed on the show.

Already, host David Steinberg is setting to chat one-on-one with Stephen Colbert, Michael Keaton, and Dan Aykroyd about comedy in the 4th season of Showtime’s Inside Comedy.

Both late night heavyweights O’Brien and Stewart should make for a pretty interesting season especially given how in-depth Steinberg gets with his interviews and now that the next era of late night has been pretty much set and off to its start.

Check out the season premiere on May 5th.

Improve Your Day and Life By Watching Tig Notaro and Jon Dore on Conan

After watching this interview, you might think, “Tig and Jon should have their own show”. Luckily, that’s Knock, Knock, It’s Tig Notaro coming to Showtime next week on Apr. 17th.

Anytime Jon Dore is in the studio at Conan, hijinks are the order of the day and he has a good time retelling the Goldilocks story in the middle of their interview with Tig Notaro and Conan O’Brien offering color commentary.

They also got to talking about their new show where they do stand-up at people’s houses “Knock, Knock, It’s Tig Notaro”, which sounds like it will be great both in concept and from what you can see from their chemistry on Conan.

Any takers on an anteater vs. whatever it is Conan created?

For his latest remote, Conan O’Brien took a shot at giving UC Irvine a much cooler mascot than the current one, an anteater.

O’Brien did so with haphazardly grabbed costume items from his show’s costume/wardrobe department.

Watch and enjoy the results here, then hope they put Conan’s mascot on some UC Irvine shirt.

Brian Stack Is Leaving “Conan” to Join “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

In case you needed another reason to watch Stephen Colbert take over The Late Show from David Letterman, the comedic brilliance of Brian Stack is going to be part of Colbert’s team.

Much of the absurdist fun that Conan O’Brien has had over the years in his various versions of his show heavily feature one Brian Stack in a multitude of ridiculous characters including Frankenstein, the voice of Wiki Bear, a traveling salesman, and many more.

Announced yesterday, Stack’s last episode of Conan will be tonight and he will then be taking off to bring his genius to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and that show will be all the better for it.

Stack is the sort of guy that will probably get a great tribute montage of his best moments on Conan very soon.

Now, see Conan fans in another such place, Pakistan.

Apparently, there are fans across the planet thousands and thousands of miles away from The Warner Bros. Studio backlot, where they tape the show, that are just as excited about Conan as the audience that’s sitting in at the taping according to this video that was sent to Conan’s staff.

As it turns out, Conan O’Brien had to “run and gun” a lot of the great bits and segments for the special Conan in Cuba episode.

So, to further explain the whole experience, Conan sat down with writers Jose Arroyo and Jessie Gaskell as well as Aaron Bleyaert at Team Coco’s digital arm and getting punched by Conan in the Clueless Gamer series to talk how they managed to pull of the feat of going to Cuba and making the special as great as it was.
