(via Deadline)

Lots of people in comedy right now, especially the big timers, are figuring all sorts of innovative ways to raise money to support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. The brilliant, award-winning, deservingly celebrated Phoebe Waller-Bridge has opted to release a special recording of her solo show performance of Fleabag (which incidentally led her to making the groundbreaking, perfect two seasons of television by the same name).

This live stage production version of Fleabag will begin streaming on Amazon Prime for U.S. access on Fri., Apr. 10th for $5. Proceeds will go to supporting, “…The National Emergencies Trust, NHS Charities Together and Acting For Others, as well as the newly launched Fleabag Support Fund, which will distribute grants of £2,500 to freelancers working in the UK theatre industry affected by the crisis.”

Not that you needed another reason to watch an exclusive live version of Fleabag, but now it’s both for your own enjoyment/enlightenment and supporting organizations that very much need your help.

4) Here’s Neil Gaiman performing a commencement speech in case you forgot how lovely his voice sounds.
5) Here’s the Cheesecake Factory menu in case you forgot how massive and indulgent it is.

That might be breaking some kind of record. Even if it’s not, it’s an impressive feat to take on and he’s doing it for a great cause (collecting donations for the Southern Poverty Law Center) AND will have a great line-up of fellow improvisers joining him throughout throughout the whole run.

When it comes to out of the box business ideas that are done for the fun of it, Howard Kremer is who you should be looking out for.

Kremer’s latest venture is really selling old headshots of his and guests (Brody Stevens pictured above) as if they’re products on a Home Shopping Network or QVC show. This does include embarrassing headshots with all different eras of looks and hairstyles and Howard and guests trying to explain what the deal was with them in those pictures at that time in their lives.

It’s called The Headshot Show and you might have noticed it happening live when catching a show or buying comics at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood. You can tune in every Wednesday (tonight included) at 8PM PST on ShopXsn.com or simply watch from the store if you go to Meltdown Comics on a Wednesday night.

Oh, we should mention that all proceeds from the selling of these headshots go to the ACLU until further notice.

A bunch of LA’s comedy best and brightest (including Dave Ross, Sean Keane, Kate Willett, Brandie Posey) got together at a house and recorded a comedy album called Burn This Election that might be exactly what you need right now.

Here’s a juicy taste of it.

In light of the results of yesterday’s election, not only might you want to hear great jokes decrying Trump, but you probably want to support a cause that stands against him and his actions.

In that spirit, the proceeds of this Burn This Election album goes to support RAINN, the country’s largest organization tasked with combatting sexual assault and helping sexual assault survivors.

You can get and listen to your own digital copy here.

By the way, the sweet album artwork is by Sean Keeton.

Tim Kaine, the fluent Spanish, very affable VP pick of Hillary Clinton, has been received quite nicely by many Democrats.

In fact, it has inspired one notable comedian/author Sara Benincasa to write and publish fan fiction based on Sara’s idea of Tim Kaine being “ the world’s nicest dad who just wants you to stay safe and have a nice time out there”, which she is aptly calling Tim Kaine Is Your Nice Dad.

Half of the proceeds from this book will go to Great Expectations, a VA non profit that helps foster kids go from community college to the workforce.

If the idea of Tim Kaine fan fic sounds good to you, you can get it on Kindle here.
