Cameron Crowe’s “Deep Tiki” Now Called “Aloha” and Gets a Trailer

Last year, we caught wind of what might be a “Hawaii rocket launch rom com” in Cameron Crowe’s latest film, which was called Deep Tiki at the time.

Since then, the movie’s title has changed to Aloha and the first trailer has arrived. Where it will end up the Cameron Crowe spectrum of romantic comedies from Say Anything to Almost Famous to Elizabethtown has yet to be seen. The love triangle between Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Rachel McAdams seems to lean more in tone towards Elizabethtown, but the presences of Danny McBride, Alec Baldwin, and Bill Murray lean more towards Say Anything.

Either way, we’re intrigued to see another trailer as well as the movie itself.

There’s plenty of more names that were dropped and probably more to come.

We can’t even imagine what they’ll end up cutting for time.

Cameron Crowe Romantic Comedy with Bill Murray, Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone Set for 2015 Release

Once there was a script for a project that writer/director Cameron Crowe was writing called Deep Tiki, which was retooled for a cast of Bill Murray, Bradley Cooper, and Emma Stone. It’s been in the works, and untitled, for well over a year and can be best most fully described, so far as we can tell, as a “Hawaiian rocket launch rom com”.

If you like all of those elements together (and we really can’t imagine why you wouldn’t), be happy to know that this film is set for release in May 2015 according to Crowe in an interview with Variety.

We wouldn’t be surprised if a fun trailer with rockets, great music, Murray’s classic face, all against the Hawaii sunset is coming relatively soon.

Every time Bill Murray comes on to The Late Show with David Letterman, it’s a pretty magical time.

Whether he’s merely telling true stories or thinking up of who should be in the female reboot of The Ghostbusters or “training for a marathon” or getting back from George Clooney’s wedding, Bill and Dave have some damn good fun.

Hopefully, Bill’s on a few more times before Dave leaves The Late Show.

Yes, Bill Murray will be singing Christmas songs and starring a Christmas TV special directed by Sofia Coppola.

While this is certainly something we wouldn’t have guessed for Murray’s next project, we’re surprised that it taken years after Lost In Translation for any thing of this nature to happen with Bill and Coppola. Now that the plans are in motion, we’ll all be very happy to have something to watch that isn’t TV series binge watching we haven’t done during the rest of the year.

There isn’t details as to where it will air or a specific air date, but we’re sure that you’ll check your DVR constantly to make sure you won’t miss it.

Getting a Hold of Bill Murray Is Like Something Out of a Wes Anderson Movie

Bill Murray has no agent. In place of that, he has a lawyer and a 1-800 number where you can leave a voicemail. When a producer of the upcoming movie St. Vincent that Murray stars in wanted to reach Murray to see if he’d be interested, the process he went through was reminiscent of a montage in many a Wes Anderson movie that Murray himself was in.

International flights on a day’s notice, sending scripts to mysterious P.O. boxes, and more are just seemingly routine in Bill Murray’s world

Just read the rest of the journey here on Vulture.

If many of us looked back at our childhood, it would be pretty great if we got Bill Murray to show us the ways of the world.

One lucky kid in the movie St. Vincent has Murray as a neighbor, as well as Melissa McCarthy as a mother, and gets to learn about life through Bill’s lens.

Watch the trailer here and keep an eye out for its release on Oct. 24th.

Also, we wonder if Annie Clark will have a song on the soundtrack or something?

Every time Bill Murray stops by to hang out at The Late Show with David Letterman, it’s always one hell of a great, silly time.

For instance, last night, Bill just needed to check off a few things from his bucket list like telling a joke and playing a clip from his movie “since he’s never done those things before”.

Ivan Reitman Passing Ghostbusters Director Torch To Someone Else

With the passing of Harold Ramis, director Ivan Reitman felt it appropriate to step down in directing the reboot of the beloved franchise. This means that the reboot of Ghostbusters set to start shooting next year will not have Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis, or Bill Murray.

Before you get skeptical, let the casting decisions and director attachments be made as they may be good ones.

Rock the Kasbah will feature Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Shia LaBeouf and Zooey Deschanel as well as being directed by Barry Levinson (Good Morning Vietnam, Wag The Dog) and is supposed to film this summer.
So, you should be looking out for this. Also, given the title of the movie, we’d like to imagine if the, for whatever reason, The Clash’s song Rock The Kasbah couldn’t be in the soundtrack or any trailers.

On Leno’s Final Night of Tonight Show, Kimmel, Conan, Letterman, The Daily Show Go Big

Tonight, Feb. 3rd, 2014 will be the final night of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show after well over a score of years. Of course, it’ll be a big celebration at The Tonight Show with Billy Crystal as the guest.

However, Jimmy Kimmel with cast of Monuments Men including Matt Damon and Bill Murray, Conan with the entire cast of The Walking Dead, David Letterman with Michael Keaton/The Flaming Lips w/Sean Lennon, and The Daily Show with NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio are making the 11PM hour fierce.

We wouldn’t be surprised if everyone has a joke about a Leno leaving in their monologue tonight as well.

Sony Supposedly Set To Start Shooting Ghostbusters 3 In Cleveland Come Spring

Whatever your feelings of Bill Murray being left out of the film, we all hope it’s just all an elaborate prank for Bill to “crash” (you know how he likes to do that) the set if they indeed do start shooting Ghostbusters 3 next year and all will be right with the Ghostbusters universe almost 25 years since Ghostbusters 2.

Bill Murray To Star in Barry Levinson-Directed ‘Rock The Kasbah’

The plot of Rock The Kasbah really rings of The Sapphires that made it’s way to limited release earlier this year with following young female singers into enemy territory, thus seeming a little suspect.

However, having vet Barry Levinson directing (he directed Good Morning Vietnam) and comedy legend Bill Murray starring makes up for a lot that suspicion.

To help commemorate 20 years of being at the reins of The Late Show, Bill Murray is set to make another appearance, which is only news because of what Bill does on Letterman like this.

What will happen? Your guess is as good as ours, but we’re going to guess that Bill will recreate being the first guest on Letterman as a Groundhog Day gag.
