The Comedy Bureau’s Heading West (to Venice) For Its Latest Show on May 18th
Sasha Merci
Andrés du Bouchet
This Thursday, it will have been a year since Peacock started prancing around Club Tee Gee over in the lovely part of LA known as Atwater Village. In that time, it has quickly grown into a neatly packed and produced, tight stand-up show that has become a neighborhood (and LA) favorite on Thursday nights. Going for an entire year, especially when you’re maintaining a high quality show every week is incredibly difficult and deserves a nod of admiration (in person at this week’s show preferably)
So, join host Kiran Deol and a very, very special, extra stacked line-up all for the always nice price of a $5 suggested donation to celebrate Peacock’s One Year Anniversary.
If you’re not on the du Bouchet train of pure absurdity, then, well, umm, please reconsider what you’re watching as Andrés is one of the pillars of why Conan remains great to this day (and certainly why their bits and sketches are often unrivaled in late night).
For more proof, du Bouchet does the best take on a character sizzle reel ever with this latest piece. Please enjoy over and over and over (then get on that du Bouchet train already).
Glad to see that Conan’s Andrés du Bouchet got to reprise his spot on creepy Butterscotch clown character for the upcoming release of the It Chapter Two sequel and really went all out for it (especially for Conan being at Comic-Con this week).
Most of all, you have to appreciate how Team Coco got away with the ending of this sketch. See it all for yourself here.
Peacock has already been off-to-the-races in terms of putting on a great weekly Thursday stand-up show in the heart of Atwater Village.
This Thursday is very special as you can see that the writers of Conan are assembling on to one show WITH Conan sidekick and announcer, the one and only Andy Richter hosting. Did we mention that it’s only a $5 suggested donation to attend? OK, we mentioned it now. So, make a reminder on your phone for #TeamPeacock (or PeaCoco?) at Club Tee Gee this Thurs. 6/27.
Did you see that line-up there? It’s yet another hot one at Hot Tub that you really ought to not miss.
Thankfully, we got a pair of tickets to giveaway, per usual

One of our favorite Andrés du Bouchet characters on Conan makes another appearance just to say that the “very real” country of Boliviguay not only has their own Comic-Con, but one that rivals the biggest one in the world, the San Diego Comic-Con (AKA THE Comic-Con).
Watch and enjoy every little detail here. You might have to watch it repeatedly to savor all of it.
TOMORROW HAPPENING IS MANDATORY AND SO IS OUR MANDATORY HOLIDAY OFFICE PARTY.
Also, free popcorn, holiday gift pens, great comedy, dance party, suggestion box prize giveaway will be had.
There seems to be no excuse for you to not go… Did we mention that all of this is FREE?
Just RSVP here so your mandatory attendance is covered.
This is just TWO DAYS AWAY.
Again, your attendance is pleasantly mandatory. RSVP here: http://dola.com/mandatoryholidayofficeparty
In order to be a more benevolent benevolent bureau, we’ve decided to make our MANDATORY HOLIDAY OFFICE PARTY a free event, which means you have zero excuses for not fulfilling your mandatory attendance.
Also, there will be free gift pens as you can see below (while supplies last-though we did order hundreds of them) for all of your hard work this year!
All you have to do is RSVP here and then come and have a good time (because you’re required to do so).
It is the holidays. As such, we will be marking the occasion, with no particular favoritism towards any specific holiday, for all The Comedy Bureau faithful.
So, Deep Eddy Vodka, DoLA and TCB present a MANDATORY HOLIDAY OFFICE PARTY full of non-denominational, non-partisan “fun”. You will look forward to enjoying performances by Rory Scovel, Kyle Kinane, Andrés du Bouchet, Jamie Loftus, The Wheel Show, and TCB’s own Jake Kroeger.
*We also have required for this event to have free popcorn
Deep Eddy Vodka will be presenting a curated menu of cocktails to ensure a “good time” will be had.
Tickets are only $5 and you can (and need to) get them here.

While many television networks are looking for their next big sketch comedy hit series, we want to let everyone know once again that Conan and Team Coco are still making some of the best sketches around.
Case in point: this World Series sketch that begs the question, “Does the Boliviguay government disavow the World Baseball Classic due to their stance on sandwiches?”
You know, Butterscotch doesn’t eat children like Pennywise from It, but, because he’s real to everyone and dances the most eerie dance ever, he might be almost as scary.
Enjoy Andrés du Bouchet and Todd Levin’s creation once more here.
The latest adaptation of Stephen King’s It is a box office hit, which has many clowns upset for allegedly promoting the idea that clowns are scary.
On last night’s Conan, O’Brien “let” one such clown (that’s some sort of unholy cross between Tim Curry’s Pennywise and John Wayne Gacy’s Pogo The Clown) “speak” to this injustice.
We’ve said it for awhile and we’ll keep saying it, Conan still has the best sketches in late night and this (written by Todd Levin) is just one more piece of proof.
For those wondering, that’s Andrés du Bouchet under all that objectively scary clown make-up.
Blending a show and semi-fictional parties together, CleftClips’ Toasty allows comedians to give the toasts that they have always dreamed of. It’s one of our all time favorite shows and the line-up for the latest edition, as you can see above, is stellar.
Tickets are $20 (the venue is small, so they will be limited and you should get them sooner rather than later), and cocktail attire is required.
Conan Writers Dan Cronin and Andrés du Bouchet Are Doing a Live Q&A About the Nut Spoon Sketch
You may say, “Nut spoon? What’s a nut spoon and how can that be fodder for a sketch?” Well, comedy legend Carl Reiner is a big fan of the ‘nut spoon sketch’ that aired on last week’s Conan.
As a result, Conan staffers Dan Cronin and Andrés du Bouchet are doing a Q&A just on that sketch alone with Aaron Bleyaert moderating. No other show would do a whole conversation on camera about a single sketch and that’s part of why we love Conan.
Watch the Q&A that’s live right now here.
The folks responsible for writing some of the funniest things in late night are doing a show this Monday night at Flappers. That includes Conan staff writers Laurie Kilmartin, Brian Kiley, Dan Cronin, Todd Levin, Andrés du Bouchet, Levi MacDougall, and Jose Arroyo.
Tickets are $10 (with a two item minimum) and you can (and should) get them here.

Breaking the fourth wall, rolling with whatever comes along, clever ridiculousness, and Andrés du Bouchet are just some of the reasons why some of best late night sketches are on Conan.
Watch du Bouchet’s latest turn as a recently defected Russian ‘kompromat’ (state sponsored blackmailer) here.
Here is some straight up, pure, unfiltered silliness from the brilliant Andrés du Bouchet.
No further explanation will be given as it isn’t needed.
The magic of one of the best live weekly comedy shows in the entire world, Hot Tub, was captured awhile back, but is now set to come out as a double LP as part of Record Store Day on November 25th thanks to Kill Rock Stars and Redeye Worldwide.
On the album, Hot Tub with Kurt and Kristen: Live at the Virgil, will be performances from Eugene Mirman, Kyle Kinane, John Roberts, Aparna Nancherla, Emily Heller, Eddie Pepitone, Beth Stelling, Karen Kilgariff, Andrés du Bouchet, Heather Lawless, and, of course, Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal.
Make sure that your local record shop will be carrying this so you can go and pick it up.
Here’s yet another Conan desk piece that rides that line of being spectacularly daft and very clever at the same time with one of the best fictitious cameraman of all time, Andrés du Bouchet.
A cavalcade of hysterical folks in character all follow the lead of host Tony Sam and Daniel Van Kirk in the great all-character comedy showcase, Persona.

No further explanation needed other than Andrés du Bouchet, who plays Khan here, is so damn great.
