If it’s possible, Issa Rae seems to have managed upping the ante on the show’s title for the second season.

Rae dives hard into dating and, as you can see in the trailer, it’s full of opportunity to be anxiety-ridden on so many levels.

Look for the season 2 premiere of Insecure on Sunday, July 23rd at 10:30PM.

Louie, Better Things, Master of None, Lopez, I’m Dying Up Here, and Dice are just a few sitcoms in recent memory that follow the lives and times of various real people (or reasonable facsimiles of real people) in and around comedy.

Andrea Savage’s I’m Sorry coming to TruTV on July 12th at 10PM will be the latest to join that subgenre and, from the trailer, it looks like it’ll be able to hold its own.

See for yourself here.

Lake Bell made a hell of a feature length film debut with In A World… and is now on her to sophomore work, I Do… Until I Don’t (maybe Bell has a thing for titles with ellipsis).

Bell will take a satirical look at the concept of marriage through three different marriages that just happen to feature Ed Helms, herself, Wyatt Cenac, Amber Heard, Paul Reiser, and Mary Steenburgen.

See for yourself in this trailer, then look for a release on September 1st.

Putting together plans for the 4th of July can be burdensome. In LA, as so many people live in such a big area, the Fourth gets even more confounded as there are almost too many celebrations around the entire Greater LA area.

In The 4th, Andre Hyland falls victim to trying to throw a 4th of July BBQ in Los Angeles and encountering the wrong thing at every turn.

See for yourself in the trailer, then look for it in a theater near you on July 21st.

If You’ve Been Missing That Feeling You Got From Michel Gondry, “Brigsby Bear” Might Be For You

It wasn’t too long ago that a true sense of childlike wonderment and delight (that was engineered so even the most jaded adults could be included), came with the mention of Michel Gondry.

That sense seems to pop up again with this trailer for the indie film, Brigsby Bear.

Kyle Mooney and Kevin Costello teamed up with Dave McCary to follow the story of a young man dead set on living out the story of his favorite, but abruptly ended children’s TV show, Brigsby Bear. Sound Gondry-esque enough for you?

Look for its release in select theaters on July 28th.

Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco’s Netflix series, Friends From College looks like it could have been a movie where old friends have one disastrous weekend.

Yet, as it is a series, there’s plenty more twist and turns that they can play with on top of having a fantastic cast of Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, Nat Faxon, Fred Savage, Jae Suh, and Annie Parisse.

See for yourself in the full length trailer.

Then, look for Friends From College to start streaming on Netflix on a month from now on Friday, July 14th.

Director Gillian Robespierre and Jenny Slate proved to be a winning combo on Obvious Child three years ago.

The two thankfully teamed up again along with writing from Elisabeth Holm with a fantastic cast of Edie Falco, John Turturro, Abby Quinn, and Jay Duplass for Landline.

The trailer shows this movie is as much of a 90s period piece on top of following the lives of what looks to be a very well-crafted, fully realized dysfunctional family.

See for yourself in the trailer.

Landline will have a limited theatrical release on July 21st, then expand to theaters everywhere on August 4th.

There’s a fine line when dark comedy just because dark. Then, there’s another line where it becomes funny again. The Coen Brothers accomplish such a feat very well as evidenced by several moments in their film Fargo from 1996.

Oren Uziel’s Shimmer Lake, a new upcoming feature film release from Netflix with Rain Willson, Rob Corddry, Benjamin Walker, Wyatt Russell, Ron Livingston, Stephanie Sigman, John Michael Higgins, and Adam Pally seems to hit that chord quite nicely in its first trailer.

If you’re on board, Shimmer Lake starts streaming on Friday, June 9th on Netflix.

David Michôd‘s War Machine, the dark comedy about the long U.S. military involvement in Afghanistan, just got another trailer and it looks, sounds, and feels like a wartime comedy straight from the pen of Armando Iannucci (i.e. it looks pretty damn good).

This new trailer gives a glimpse into the sharp, almost too close to home humor and the reveling in absurdity of the situation that perhaps this story deserves.

Look for War Machine to start streaming on Netflix near the end of the month on May 26th.

Two protagonists from disparate worlds coming together, against all odds, to fall in love is an oft used formula in the world of romantic comedies.

However, a lot of the time, many of those stories are purely fiction and the verisimilitude takes you out of it.

The Big Sick, written by comedy power couple Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon about how they really did come from very different walks of life, under unusual circumstances, and fell in love, living happily ever after.

Watch the trailer and you’ll see the truth ring in their story as presented in what might be this Summer’s comedy hit.

Look for The Big Sick to come out in limited release on June 23rd and in wide release on July 14th.

Hidden America with Jonah Ray is indeed a fake travel show that expertly skewers the whole TV genre that explores the culture of traveling here and abroad. The upcoming season has excited for more sharp, nuanced parodies of what real travel shows done in real cities with guests Joel Hodgson, Yvette Nicole Brown, Janet Varney and Jorge Garcia.

Also, in blurring the lines between the parody and real world, the one and only Anthony Bourdain of Parts Unknown fame, and a particularly incensed one at that, makes what seems to be a “fun” cameo on this new season of Hidden America.

Writer/director Carson D. Mell’s feature film debut is a very intriguing mesh of horror and comedy.

Another Evil shows that someone who is a so-called ‘ghost assassin’ can be just as bothersome as spirits who won’t stop haunting you. That premise and Mell’s pedigree of writing on Silicon Valley and Eastbound & Down has got us on board for what could very well be an “anti-buddy comedy”.

Watch Trailer Don Rickles Series “Dinner With Don” Which Wrapped Before He Passed Away

One of the more exciting things that were in the works was AARP’s series Dinner with Don that essentially would be Don Rickles’ version of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Guests Amy Poehler, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Zach Galifianakis, and Paul Rudd had dinner with Don and enjoyed going back-and-forth with Mr. Warmth.

Fortunately, before Rickles passing this week, 10 episodes of the show had already been shot. There is no word on when and where it will make its debut, but we hope that its soon.

You can watch trailer over at The Hollywood Reporter.
