Pick of the Day: Hannah Einbinder: El Rey Taping (in LA) 4/20 (RESCHEDULED from 3/17)

Ever since we peeped Hannah Einbinder start forming the shape of her grand, conceptual comedic ideas on stage, we had a quite the hunch that she was on a path to something pretty damn great.

Did we know she would be an award winning prestige comedy playing opposite the renowned Jean Smart? Well, not exactly, but we can’t say that we’re entirely surprised that Hannah is rising to the occasion. Einbinder’s ornately offbeat sense of humor on stage, with all of its carefully arranged bells and whistles, is something to really behold. So, Hannah being on the precipice of taping her very first hour special is absolutely a happening that we thoroughly think you shouldn’t miss if you’re in and around LA on Mar. 17th. right at the heart of the billboard river that is The Sunset Strip at The Roxy. on 4/20 (because those damn atmospheric rivers have to cause a bunch of property damage) on The Miracle Mile for LA’s lauded, gorgeous El Rey Theatre (has one of the dreamiest marquees in the Greater LA Area).

There will be an early and late show at 7PM and 10PM respectively with tickets being $35 a pop. We have no doubt that this will sell out probably in a jif. So get your tix here.

It’s so rare to seem someone great actual headline in LA, much less at The Comedy Store.

So, you really ought to not miss your chance to see the one and only Eric Andre, harbinger of (comedic) chaos, do his latest hour up in The Comedy Store’s Belly Room next Fri., Nov. 15th at 8PM. We’re not sure exactly what’s going to happen, but that is part of the thrill of seeing Eric Andre live these days, especially on this Legalize Everything Tour.

Tickets are only $15 (+ 2 item min.). Go get them before they sell out here.

Since Historical Roasts just dropped on Netflix today, we only feel it only appropriate to give you a heads up on what certainly will be an inappropriate evening, a Historical Roast of Mother Teresa at the Comedy Store this week. This might actually be the most prestigious dais they’ve had on a roast with Gandhi, Princess Di, Mr. Rogers, Jesus, Oprah, Martin Luther King Jr., and Pope John Paul II.

The original co-reators and hosts Eddie Furth and Ryan Pigg of the show will be presiding over the evening in the Belly Room of The Comedy Store (so you best get your tickets quick). Do so here.

Sure sounds like Jay Larson and company will share stories of their best, most outrageous, epic pranks with this special evening of comedy and storytelling at The Comedy Store’s Belly Room. We’d bet that you’ll both wonder how they got away with it to tell you the tale and be glad that you’re not part of the story.

Get your tickets (note: there is a 2 drink min.) for the 23rd here.

Over a decade ago, Dave Hill initiated one of the funniest exchanges ever in trying to start a Norwegian Black Metal band with a kid from Indiana. The conversations became known as The Black Metal Dialogues.

All these years later, Dave and actual bandmate Phil Costello are going to do The Black Metal Dialogues Live! next month at The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip.

Even if you’re not a metal head, we’re pretty sure you’ll enjoy “the vagina monologues of black metal”.

Please get your tickets here.

Mo Mandel Attempts to Make a Promo with a Digital Billboard for His New Seeso Special “Negative Reinforcement”

Having your own face on a billboard, especially on the legendary Sunset Strip in WeHo, is quite the milestone for any entertainer.

That’s why Mo Mandel wanted to make a promo for his brand new stand-up special Negative Reinforcement, which started streaming on Seeso this week, showing off his visage on the heart of The Sunset Strip.

However, you should know that the ad for Mo’s special is on a digital billboard that rotates through a cycle of plenty of other ads. He still gave a shot at making a promo anyway.

Oh, also, you should go watch Negative Reinforcement on Seeso since Mo is pretty damn funny as shown in these clips of said special.

Remain Champagne: AN OPEN LETTER TO THAT COUPLE I JUST SAW ON THE SUNSET STRIP

remainchampagne:

Look at you guys! Nicely dressed, smiling, out on the town. Looks like you just had dinner maybe. This whole Sunset Strip thing just keeps getting brighter and brighter what with all the computerized billboards and new stores and clubs and reflecting windows so everyone can see…

Matt Champagne runs into the weirdest thing on Sunset Blvd. that isn’t Jesus at the Comedy Store.
