When doing the alchemy of taking heartbreak and turning it into comedy, it often manifests as stand-up or a short film. Doing an entire solo musical is a whole other incredibly ambitious endeavor and one Sydney Kane has found her way to doing just that with Wife Material, set to take stage at The Roxy later this month. Sydney traces her steps for us going from embarking on the biggest and most personal and most successful work to date on this week’s TCB Field Report.

Follow Sydney @sydneymorgankane and get tix to Wife Material at The Roxy on 4/21 here.

Produced by Jake Kroeger

The Goddamn Comedy Jam, which you might know in its adapted for television version The Comedy Jam, is doing another round of their half stand-up/storytelling, half rock show at The Roxy in West Hollywood on 9/11.

Probably like us, you’re already wondering what someone like Kevin Nealon might sing or do. You’ll have to go and see for yourself.

Tickets probably won’t be around for much longer. Get them while you can here.
