Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner’s Hulu series Difficult People is coming soon, which means that they’re thankfully starting to make the talk show rounds.

Their first stop was at Late Night with Seth Meyers and they revealed a little about what their executive producer Amy Poehler “is like behind the scenes”, if “you know” what “we mean”.

Watch it here.

The Chris Gethard Show’s Set Officially Includes “Late Show with David Letterman” Garbage

As David Letterman was making his exit from the late night world earlier this year, you might have heard that they were throwing away his set at The Ed Sullivan Theater.

Chris Gethard heard about that, and in a very appropriate symbolic move, took one late night’s legend trash in the hopes to make it his very own gold at The Chris Gethard Show now on Fusion.

Watch Gethard detail the whole experience on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Watch a Post-Emmy Nomination Amy Schumer on Late Night with Seth Meyers

Inside Amy Schumer received more than a few Primetime Emmy nominations yesterday. Amy Schumer got to mark the achievement, which comes in a concentrated period of her career chock full of achievements, milestones, and accolades for Amy, when appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

The great thing is that she’s pretty much the same Amy that America has come to love and applaud over the last year or so.

When she seems like some of the character she portrays…

…or trying to do bits at the Time 100 Gala…

…or hanging with her longtime friends at the premiere of her movie, Amy is quickly becoming an American sweetheart for 2015.

Also, we’ll say it once more: Go watch Trainwreck. It’s great.

While on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Mike Birbiglia talked the ins-and-outs of being in Amy Schumer and Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, which is, apparently, a little like getting a hotel bill after watching a bunch of porn in your room and then having an older sibling be better than you at whatever you’re best at.

Watch his interview on Late Night here.

Also, make sure to watch Trainwreck this weekend. You’ll laugh really hard at how Birbiglia is used in the movie.

Bill Hader and Fred Armisen seemingly get to live out a fantasy of playing characters throughout real life inspired fake historical documentary shorts in the series Documentary Now! that they developed with Seth Meyers.

Watch the trailer featuring Hader and Armisen dressed up in plenty of wonderfully outlandish costumes as wonderfully outlandish characters, then tune into the premiere on IFC on Aug. 20th at 10PM.

Jerry Seinfeld Tells Seth Meyers He Wants a Little Less Political Correctness and Set Up in Talk Show Interviews

On last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jerry Seinfeld wasted no time in getting to pulling back the curtain on how talk show interviews are set up and his subsequent distaste for pre-interviews/artificial conversation.

He does give props to Meyers for not having notes visible on his desk.

Then, he moved on to commenting on political correctness and how he has found that it has gone too far .

Jerry makes solid points on both counts and will inevitably have people/the Internet endlessly debate and further entrench themselves in whatever side they take.

Whether you agree or disagree, it won’t keep from Jerry from joking about what he wants and avoiding talking to producers before he goes on late night talks shows.

We can’t wait to see what Hader, Armisen, and Meyers get a former Queen Elizabeth to say.

Helen Mirren is set to host the parody documentary series created by Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, and Seth Meyers called Documentary Now! coming to IFC on Aug. 20th.

We wonder if this will take her down more comedic roads, more roles like she’s had in Red, if this really clicks.

Already, you’ve heard from Conan O’Brien and Jon Stewart on Dave’s departure from The Late Show.

So, as today’s the final day of The Late Show with David Letterman, the rest of the late night world gave their parting wishes.

Jimmy Kimmel gave one of his most heartfelt, sincere moments in his farewell to Dave.

Jimmy Fallon gave thanks to Dave for paving the way for what late night is now.

Seth Meyers told his favorite Letterman story as well as recreated the opening credits of Late Night a la Dave’s version.

There will be more of these to come to be sure.

The Best Show’s Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster got to sit down and chat with Seth Meyers about the history of The Best Show.

After this appearance, we’re curious what sort of callers The Best Show will get now and how weird they’ll be.

An Al Capone Festival in Iceland, the first documentary about the Inuit, drug cartels, a band called Blue Jean Committee, are just a few “subjects” they’ll be covering.

The minds of Armisen, Hader, and Meyers have banded together to make up fake history of which to do documentaries about. The series, which has been ordered for six episodes at IFC, is appropriately called Documentary Now!

Fred and Bill will star in the series donning a plethora of costumes and accents.

Look for Documentary Now! on IFC starting Thurs. Aug. 20th at 10PM.

Seth Meyers Does an Iffy Bit on “Late Night” and Jack Black Sings Commentary

If only we knew how many jokes we had to go in so many more sketches.

Seth Meyers had a sketch within a sketch last night as he put forth a typical late night desk piece, but then had Jack Black offer up sing-along commentary on how the bit is really going.

The idea may be a little confusing right now, but it’s pretty great.

Few other folks outside of Monty Python get to relive their comedy sketches like they do.

While chatting with Seth Meyers last night, John Cleese got to talking about one of Monty Python’s most enduring sketches and how, when they performed it live, it would go a wry in the best way.

You begin to wonder if any other sketch troupe will ever be this big ever again? Maybe Key & Peele?

Apparently, Most of The CAA Comedy Department Has Become a Big Part of UTA’s Comedy Department

April 5, 2015

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Maybe BoJack Horseman will do an episode about this like they did the William Morris Endeavor merger?

Two big comedy agents, Jason Heyman and Martin Lesak, were at United Talent Agency or UTA, then uprooted with their clients and left to Creative Artists Agency or CAA making a huge shift in which agency had more leverage when it came to comedy.

Heyman and Lesak, after being reportedly dissatisfied at CAA for a long time, have headed back to UTA and are apparently taking what seems like the entirety of CAA’s comedy department including Nick Nuciforo, Susie Fox, Joanna Scott, Mackenzie Condon and Chelsea McKinnies and their high profile talent, Will Ferrell, Chris Pratt, Melissa McCarthy, Seth Meyers, and way more.

From the point of view of consumers of comedy, the effect might be negligible and comedy movies, television, web series, etc. proceed as planned. Now that legal action is being taken (via Deadline) by CAA against UTA and all the agents that moved over, perhaps certain projects will be slowed.

While suits are being filed and arbitrations are being made, hopefully everything else will seem business as usual.

There weren’t any acrobatics, but there something happened that neither Schaal or Forte will forget. Hear it in full detail here.

Late Night with Seth Meyers has some fun with Lena Dunham the same way they did with The Newsroom last year.

Dunham takes on her Girls’ role as Hannah Horvath and sees if the writers’ room at Late Night is a good fit for her. Notice how she wouldn’t be OK with it being the other way around and seeing if she is a good fit with everyone else.

Even though Seaton Smith has been on TV more than a few times, it’s about time he got a late night stand-up set in.

Smith made a great first late night stand-up appearance last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

The joy that Seaton has during his set laughing and smiling juxtaposes nicely against discussing black republicans, gay pride parades, and Martin Luther King Jr. sleeping around.

Kurt Braunohler took a break from riding on jet skis for charity or making “snow” fall in LA to do some stand-up on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week. If you’re worried that it won’t be a little “out-of-the-box”, worry not as Kurt definitely has a chunk about what utensils we should be using as a country.

Right after the finale of Parks and Recreation aired last night, the entire cast as well as co-creator Mike Schur (and a special guest that came to “Jamm” things up) appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to relive all the memories.

Of course, the goodbye, perhaps the last time all of them will be in a room together went as memorable and as in the spirit-of-Parks-and-Rec as it could be.

There was a barely rehearsed song for Seth Meyers.

There were toasts from one cast member to another one picked from a hat.

There was even another song that was supposed to be a final rendetion of “Bye, Bye Li’l Sebastian”, but Jim O’Heir, Aubrey Plaza, and Jon Glaser had other plans.
