This very riveting documentary short Laughing Matters: The Funny Business of Being Sad from SoulPancake, Funny or Die, director Mike Bernstein, and producer/editor Georgia Koch shows how depression has woven its way through the lives of many of your favorite comedic writers, actors, and stand-ups and how they’ve managed to cope.

Included in the doc are harrowing stories of such celebrated funny people Chris Gethard, Sarah Silverman, Rachel Bloom, Baron Vaughn, Neal Brennan, Aparna Nancherla, Rainn Wilson, Sara Benincasa, Riki Lindhome, Wayne Brady, and Anna Akana.

It is indeed #WorldMentalHealthDay and it’s especially worth watching today, but how Laughing Matters effectively navigates the thread of everyone journey with depression, anxiety, and more in this doc is pretty amazing and worth a watch at any time. It’s yet another reminder of how prolific issues with mental health are and why it’s important to take care of it and to know that you’re not alone in how you feel (even though it might feel that way)

You can (and should) watch it here.

We’re just going to say that Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome do it again as Garfunkel and Oates by mixing razor sharp, satirical lyrics over comfy melodies (and a bit of musical hijinks) with this latest song and then let them take it away from here.

Fox Makes Script Commitment Plus Penalty to Riki Lindhome’s “Tails”

This makes for yet another intriguing addition to Fox’s development slate as a project from Sabrina Jalees and Diablo Cody was also announced this week.

Lindhome, who we hope you’d know from Garfunkel and Oates and Another Period, will indeed be writing and starring in the project about a late 30s woman refusing to settle.

Based off of how incredible the song and music video for Garfunkel and Oates’ 29/31 is, we have no doubt that Riki’s take on what would might be a decade after that song will be worth watching.

Undoubtedly, Kathryn Burns is often the intersection of dance and comedy as she has won an Emmy for her work as the choreographer on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (in addition to creating dance numbers for the likes of Key & Peele, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, and more).

So, to mark her reaching working on a 100 episodes of TV, Kat is putting on a comedy dance extravaganza at UCB Sunset that you need to attend.

Oh yeah, we should mention that Rachel Bloom, Garfunkel & Oates, and Matthew Patrick Davis will be there.

Tickets are $5 and are going fast. Buy them quick here.

Riki Lindhome and Natasha Leggero’s Another Period is returning for its third season next month to emphatically show that America is still making the mistakes that it did nearly 100 years in the past in the package of a highly enjoyable, over-the-top, 30 min period piece sitcom.

See for yourself in this trailer.

This new season of Another Period premieres on Tuesday, January 23rd on Comedy Central.

10PM on Comedy Central

Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome return for season 2 of Another Period as the unapologetically wealthy face of The Bellacourt family and are really going to rub their wealth in the faces of everyone they meet.

Revel in their chaos tonight and wish that wealthy craziness was left back in 1900.

If there’s a takeaway from the trailer from the brand new season of Comedy Central’s Another Period, it’s probably to never challenge the outrageously wealthy to be more outrageous, especially in The Gilded Age.

The Bellacourts will see your challenge for this second season and raise you as much havoc as they can afford and then some as they probably have some more money stashed away somewhere or can marry into more wealth.

See for yourself in the season two trailer here.

Look for the series premiere in two weeks on Wednesday, June 15th at 10PM on Comedy Central.

Just as the Kardashians are sticking around, The Bellacourts aren’t going anywhere either.

Another Period, Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome’s series based on real turn-of-the-century opulence is going to keep showing off the 1% of the 1900s being as wasteful as they can possibly be for a 3rd season at Comedy Central.

Season 2 doesn’t premiere until next month on June 15th, but the renewal just got announced today, which hopefully means Comedy Central knows something really great about season 2 that the rest of us don’t.

Actually, it’s a comedy special centered around a live fundraising concert for making a comedy special.

Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci of Garfunkel and Oates are finally getting their first comedy special. After nearly doing everything else (albums, tours, TV series, etc.), Vimeo will be releasing a special where the duo will cleverly be doing a fundraiser that would supposedly raise the money for the special that they’ve wanted to be doing all along.

You might want to be in Seattle near the end of October.

With plenty of albums of subversive pop comedy hits under their belt, many would think that Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci might have already just done an hour comedy special by now.

However, that is not the case and Garfunkel and Oates are correcting that next month.

Riki and Kate will be shooting their first hour long special live at The Neptune Theatre in Seattle on Fri. Oct. 23rd at 7:30PM and 10:30PM. You can and should get tickets here, especially since there will be kazoos.

It has been quite some time since the last collection of sweetly composed, hilariously biting songs from Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome better known as Garfunkel and Oates.

However, the wait is over and their latest album, Secretions, is out now. 29/31, a song from both perspectives of a woman who is 29, then later 31, and The BJ Song, a song exploring the inner monologue of a woman while giving a ‘beej’, are two of our favorites.

The unfortunate news that the TV series adaptation of the lives and music of Garfunkel and Oates (Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci) has come to an end at IFC after only one season.

However, Lindhome and Micucci will continue right on as Garfunkel and Oates as they tweeted out “Thank you for all the Twitter love. Sorry we won’t be bringing you any more IFC episodes but we have something exciting coming we promise…” as well as an Instagram of getting back to work and an upcoming date at The Venetian in Las Vegas.

While it’s sad to see them leave our TVs, we’re sure they’ll write a really funny, brilliant song about the whole experience.

A Better You is Matt Walsh’s 2nd film, co-written by star Brian Huskey, shows when hypnotherapy perhaps might not be the answer to your or even the hypnotherapist’s problem.

Horatio Sanz, Andy Daly, Morgan Walsh, Riki Lindhome, Natasha Leggero, Joe Lo Truglio, and more round a stellar cast as one might expect with Walsh at the helm.

A Better You is set to go around the film festival circuit, but you can watch the trailer here.

Following Mad Men, many have pondered what Christina Hendricks next role would be. It seems that she’ll take after her co-stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss and more who have taken on more comedic roles outside of AMC.

Hendricks has just joined the cast of the faux reality show set in the 1900s Another Period coming to Comedy Central making a perfect addition to stars Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome.

We have no doubt that there will be side-by-side .gifs of Joan Holloway and Hendricks character on Another Period and what they would potentially think of each other.

Whether you’re aware of it or not, Comedy Central is on a roll. Drunk History, Nathan For You, Broad City, “@midnight”, Kroll Show, seem to all be solid in so many respects and thus, it shouldn’t be a surprise that their 1900s scripted comedy Another Period starring Riki Lindhome and Natasha Leggero has just added a stellar supporting/guest cast.

Lauren Ash, Michael Ian Black, Paget Brewster, Beth Dover, Brett Gelman, Brian Huskey, David Koechner, Jason Ritter, David Wain and Armen Weitzman are all set to round out the show following Rhode Island’s “first family”.

While, Another Period won’t come around until 2015, 2015 isn’t that far off.
