Though Comic-Con Is Over, You Can Still Use Bill Tull’s Cosplay Tips

July 14, 2015

According to this latest edition of Bill Tull’s budget tips, he writes these tips himself.

In preparation for Conan O’Brien’s trip to Comic-Con, propmaster Bill Tull opted to make a new edition of his budget tips, this time focusing on cosplay.

Due to time restraints, the segment didn’t make air. Thankfully, Tull “fought” to have them shown on air in last night’s episode.

We’re fully expecting to see these cosplay tips be put into practice very soon.

Doing rare promotion for his upcoming film Rock the Kasbah, Bill Murray stopped by to greet Comic-Con’s hallowed Hall H to give the “Bill Murray Experience” to the crowd in attendance, whether Murray would ever fess up to crashing any sort of party or not.

He quipped, he philosophized, he waxed poetic, and pretty much gave fans what they were looking for. You can almost imagine it as a deleted scene from Lost in Translation.

Watch his whole panel appearance joined by Rock the Kasbah’s Mitch Glazer and panel moderator Josh Horowitz here.

The Trailer For “Ash vs. Evil Dead” Looks Like It Could As Much Fun as The Original Trilogy

This week, Comic-Con got a whole dose of Bruce Campbell returning to his former glory as the boomstick carrying, one-liner-at-the-ready Ash from Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and Evil Dead II.

The new trailer for Ash vs. Evil Dead the Starz adaptation of the Sam Raimi-Campbell franchise was screened for those in attendance and is now online for all of us to enjoy with its badass, gory hilarity. It only stands to reason that Raimi and Campbell reuniting should conjure the same cult horror-comedy magic they did on the first go around.

Also, Lucy Lawless seems to be joining Campbell’s side, which is definitely a plus.

Watch the trailer here and then look for the series premiere on Starz on Halloween night, Oct. 31st at 9PM.

If you’ve ever wondered how Conan O’Brien came to be the renowned talk show host that he is (besides the oft-documented story of working on The Simpsons then replacing Letterman at Late Night), then watch his “official” origin story that he presented at his second day at Comic-Con.

Also, in the same day, Conan ran into a bit of problem with a very surprising appearance by Chris Parnell apparently cosplaying as Game of Thrones author George RR Martin who had a very surprising book cover on the books the was signing.

Having already done zombie bits with a Walking Dead episode of Conan in the past, we can’t imagine what he’s going to pull on tonight’s episode with the cast of the Walking Dead.

Looks like The Awesomes have a cross-online streaming service rival.

Bryan Cranston has a lot of irons on the fire post-Breaking Bad and finally one of them has been taken out and hammered it into what seems to be a fun sort of spin-off from Robot Chicken (Stoopid Buddy Studios, the folks behind Robot Chicken, produce this show) for Crackle, SuperMansion.

It follows old superheroes trying to stay relevant and feel meaningful in the world of today, though much more edgy and adult than The Incredibles seemingly a little more than Hulu’s similar series, The Awesomes.

It also boasts a star studded voice cast with Seth Green, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, Jillian Bell, Chris Pine, Ron Perlman, Famke Janssen, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, Anton Yelchin, and Nick Kroll.

Watch the trailer, which just made its premiere at Comic-Con, here, then look for its premiere this Fall on Crackle.

Conan O’Brien kicked off his week at Comic-Con appropriately with taking Mad Max: Fury Road’s Doof Wagon down from LA to San Diego.

On top of that, he found “secret” audition tapes for the new Wolverine that will soon replace Hugh Jackman which includes Hannibal Buress, Patton Oswalt, Larry King, and more.

Even more impressive than that, O’Brien passed a “Comic-Con Citizenship Test” proctored by none other than the Nerdist himself, Chris Hardwick.

This was all just Conan’s first day at Comic-Con and we can only imagine the possibilities of what’s to come. Let’s hope for special editions of Clueless Gamer and a walk from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on the Comic-Con floor.

Be sure to pick up one if you’re at SDCC this year.

Another nice reveal from Comic Con this past weekend came in the form of a trailer for Adult Swim’s latest cartoon, Mike Tyson Mysteries with the actual voice of Mike Tyson.

There’s a lot to chew on here including its style as one of those classic 70s cartoons to a ghost being one of Tyson’s sidekicks as well as Norm MacDonald voicing a pigeon. That’s right; all of you what just read is absolutely true.

Watch the trailer here.

Yesterday, there was a panel for Community at Comic Con and series creator Dan Harmon remarked that the return of the show would probably come after Christmas at their new home at Yahoo.

It might be a few months to wait, but we have a feeling that it will be worth given the fact that Harmon isn’t necessarily bound by 22 min. running time for a half hour sitcom or as stringent language/content restrictions.

Can There Just Be a Show of Paul Scheer and Company Doing Panels?

Paul Scheer makes pretty much everything he does undeniably fun and damn funny even if it’s talking to journalists or being on panels in front of thousands of peoples being asked questions about the show he’s on, which could be rote like they often are, or they could end up firing t-shirt cannons or working on an alibi to kill the cast of Children’s Hospital like he did in a recent NTSF:SU:SUV interview with TV Line.

Watch it here.
