Watch Comedy in the Woods of Texas at the Very First Sound on Sound Fest

It’ll be held in the Sherwood Forest no less at a site that’s usually meant for ren faires.

A month from now Tim Heidecker, Joe Mande, Todd Barry, Johnny Pemberton, Ever Mainard, The New Movement Theater, Air Sex Championships, and more will join in at The Globe Stage for the very first Sound on Sound Fest. 

Specifically, it’ll go from Friday, November 4th-Sunday, November 6th in McDale, Texas. It’s $85 for single day pass, $169 for three day pass, $445 for VIP three day pass. 

Oh, great non-comedic music acts like Phantogram, Run The Jewels, Big Boi, Death Grips, Mac Demarco, and Courtney Barnett will be performing as well.

The Pemberton Music Festival in British Columbia To Be Latest Big Music Festival That Has Comedy

It’s a trend now that big music and arts festival have a solid comedy line-up and we’re definitely on board for that.

The Pemberton Music Festival that’s set to take place in Pemberton, British Columbia from Jul. 16th-19th is taking cues from SXSW, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Sasquatch, and more to have comedy alongside their massive music line-up.

So, next to the likes of Kendrick Lamar and The Black Keys, The Pemberton Music Festival line-up also has:

The comedy stylings of Eddie Pepitone, Henry Zebrowski, Too Many Cooks, Cornell Reid, Dan Gill, Picture This!, Air Sex Championship, Josh Androsky, Brandie Posey, and more are headed to Iowa City, IA from the weekend of Feb. 28th for The Green Gravel Comedy Festival. 

That’s officially less than a month away, so make your plans accordingly, especially if you live anywhere near Iowa now or by the end of the month.

Yes, there is an Air Sex Championship going on since 2008 and if you’re thinking that it’s pretty much as advertised with people competing against each other in how well they act out sex by themselves on stage, then you’re right on the money. A documentary is being made exploring this phenomenon and we think you should support as it’s pretty funny, especially if you get over your prudish American ways, assuming that’s the case, and watch people try to mime sex for a high score.
