Morning Debriefing 3/29/11

1) April 1st-There will be a piece about Downtown LA Comedy in the Los Angeles Times.  Please look out for this.

2) At least the Shorty Awards (Twitter Awards) got one thing right: Conan O’Brien winning the Shorty Lifetime Achievement Award.  @lord_Voldemort7 for humor.  Yeah, right…

3) Earwolf, a podcast platform for many big comedy podcasts has a “secret project”.  Besides it being called “Project Tippy Toe”, that’s all I can really say. [via Ploplist]

4) Bobby Bottleservice Joke Contest! Finish the joke, “Why did the mosquito cross the road?” to win tickets to a show with Conan O’Brien, Sarah Silverman, and Bottleservice’s alter-ego Nick Kroll, here in LA [via The Comic’s Comic]

5) Comedians Shayne Michael and Jeff Leon have started a Matching Funds program for other booked shows/open mics to pay featured performers.  Yes, this what performing comedy in LA has come to.
