On the promotional track for Zero Theorem, Terry Gilliam appeared on The Colbert Report complete with kimono and took his positive vibe and message against the wit of the Stephen Colbert character.

The result was pretty damn fun. Also, Colbert does a Monty Python “walk from the desk to the interview table”. Watch it here.

Vote to Pick The 2014 Andy Kaufman Award Finalists

One of our favorite comedy competitions around is the annual Andy Kaufman Award. With such noted winners as Kristen Schaal, Brent Weinbach, Nick Vatterott and Reggie Watts, it’s a distinction of those who are so incredibly unique in their comedic voice that they’re impossible to ignore.

The semi-finalists have been picked and you can now vote for who moves on to be a finalist. Among them are the likes of the very funny Robert Buscemi, Mary Holland, Jim Hickox, Nathan Min, and more.

Get a kick out of watching all of their clips and then please vote (and do so before Sept. 21st when voting closes).

CC:Studios Shows You The Best/Worst House to Live in with “300 Sunnyside”

The gathering of Barry Rothbart, Betsy Sodaro, Brian Huskey, Cornell Reid, Nick Rutherford, and Chris Reinacher under one roof makes for batshit crazy house. It also makes for a very funny web series that was just released at CC:Studios called 300 Sunnyside.

Watch episodes one, two, and three now and be thankful that you get to watch the insanity at their house from the comfort of YouTube rather than actual live it.

While on Conan last night, Hannibal Buress revealed the details, well, some details about a book deal that he got somewhat recently. Apparently, he needs a little inspiration to get the book off the ground.

Hopefully, whatever the book ends up being, the text message conversation between him and a past landlord ends up in it as well as the wonderfully accompanying pictures.

“The Skeleton Twins” Expands to 50 Theaters Today and You Should Go See It

The Skeleton Twins has played in LA and NYC for the week to a great critical and commercial reception and there’s definitely a reason, if not several, for why that’s happening.

The top billing from Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig doesn’t disappoint as they show how fun both of them hanging out during SNL rehearsals can be, but also they throughly go to dark places and make us want to follow them all the way there and back. Luke Wilson is also played beautifully as a stark contrast to their misanthropic, self-destructive duo. Co-writer-director Craig Johnson manages to take something that, on paper, could be just intensely dark and heavy, and presents with a deft, caring hand.

Constantly switching gears between the hysterical and the cathartic, it’s definitely worth checking out, especially since it expanded to 50 theaters this weekend.

Dan Aykroyd Wants To Expand Ghostbusters Into an Entire Universe

A la Marvel and DC, veteran Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd wants to take the franchise to the next level by expanding the story behind The Ghostbusters from the very start all the way to where they are fighting ghosts.

Whether that will come in the form of more sequels, prequels, TV series, web series, podcasts, social media, etc. has yet to be seen, but the next actual sequel that’s been in development for so long still has yet to be made.

Also, a confirmed return of Bill Murray would be nice.

James Franco’s “Making a Scene” Mashes Up Batman and Beetlejuice

You could have a game show style wheel to pick one of the multitude of different things that James Franco does, but, in AOL’s case, he’s just getting a random classic scene from the cinematic canon from the same style of wheel and mashing it up with a genre or another classic film scene.

It’s called “Making a Scene” and it’s the reason that this pretty great, weird, mash up between Batman and Beetlejuice now exists.

Lifetime is indeed making Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever set to premiere on Nov. 29th at 8PM. While the idea may seemed crowdsourced by the whole of the Internet, getting Aubrey Plaza to voice the Grumpy Cat seems more than perfect casting and definitely one thing this TV movie needed.

So, Lifetime will undoubtedly have a boost in their younger demos that night as well as a whole new set of fan made .gifs that will be on every one’s social media feeds.

Recently, Jim Jefferies had the luck of dropping into the Hollywood Improv while Paul McCartney was in the audience. Knowing that, Jefferies put forth his A-game and was surprised at the results as he recounts on Conan.

After telling this story, he balanced out the nice twist in that story with a much darker twist on the story of his sole acting gig in a porno that he was not at all having sex in.

For a while, there was debate over renaming a NYC street to George Carlin Way in honor of the legendary comedian and where he went to school.

Having been approved by New York City last year, Google Maps now officially recognizes the street name and an official dedication ceremony with George’s daughter, Kelly Carlin, as well as Colin Quinn will happen on Oct. 22nd at 1PM EST.

We won’t be surprised to see if this corner is jam packed with people next month.

The Just For Laughs brand has been one for the biggest comedy festivals in the world for quite some time. In their tenure of their festivals, so many of the big names you know and love nowadays performed on what was likely the biggest stage they’ve ever performed comedy on up until that point.

So, JFL thought it might be prudent to share some of their archives with the rest of us.

Thus, 500 hours of clips will be uploaded to a YouTube channel that’s being created with the help of Maker Studios, much of which hasn’t ever been seen outside of the festival. Clips will include performances from Dave Chappelle, Bill Hicks, Bill Burr, Louis CK, Mitch Hedberg, Jon Stewart, Chris Rock, and way more.

When that starts, prepare for another thing to binge watch.

Though covering developments in the rap game might sound a little off-brand for us, the idea that a rapper would be willing to do a remix of his upcoming album with just cat sounds made us laugh pretty hard.

So, here’s us telling you about the amazing Kickstarter that’s raising money to make a remix of Run The Jewels 2, the to-be-released album from Run The Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike), with cat sounds.

Appropriately, it’ll be titled “The Meow The Jewels Package” and while they’re asking for a cool $45,100 on Kickstarter by the end of October, El-P has promised that, upon the money being raised, he’ll make the album and donate all the proceeds to charity.

Support charity and make perhaps one of the most awesome, fun rap albums ever.
