Fox Adds Funny or Die Exec Conor Welch as VP of Comedy

With Kevin Reilly out, Fox is having to switching up their ranks quite a bit. Namely, Conor Welch will be joining Fox as their VP of Comedy after serving as an executive at Funny or Die and working at Ben Stiller‘s Red Hour.

Given how Fox tried to bring an Adult Swim/Funny or Die sensibility with Fox ADHD, we hope that Welch will continue to be in that ball park.

Marry Me with Casey Wilson and Ken Marino Premieres in October on NBC

Of the new crop of sitcoms coming this fall, one of the most promising ones seems to be David Caspe’s Marry Me starring Casey Wilson and Ken Marino.

While it’s a romantic comedy like so many of the others, it’s concept new and that cast, as you might have already surmised, is pretty damn good. Look out for the series premiere of Marry Me on Tues. Oct 14th at 9PM on NBC.

John Oliver Crashes FCC Comments System After Net Neutrality Segment

Well, John Oliver seems to not only be doing one hell of a funny show, but affecting actual change. He did a segment on net neutrality this past Sunday, which was then online on Monday, that called for Internet commenters to go to the FCC comments section to leave their thoughts on legislation against net neutrality.

While it was Peter Capaldi who said it in Armando Ianucci’s genius In The Loop, John Oliver has shown he can “summon all the media forces of darkness to hound you into an assisted suicide.”

Key & Peele To Have Hillary Clinton’s Anger Translator Next Season

One of the most popular sketches on Key & Peele is Obama’s Anger Translator and they will be now expanding it to have an “anger translator” for Hilary Clinton.

With thin in mind, we can only hope that Key and Peele will do their version of the press conference where Clinton had something thrown at her.

iO West is putting on, for the 12th year, their Los Angeles Improv Comedy Festival. Starting from today, it will go all week and spans all three stages they have with plenty of improv, sketch, workshops, and even a stand-up competition.

Rather than check out all the tourists and what they’re doing on Hollywood Blvd., this would definitely be more worth seeing.

Comedy Central Releases Some Details on The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore

Set to debut next year, The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore will not only feature Wilmore going through the news Daily Show style, but will possibly feature a panel that goes through topical issues in a more open discussion and perhaps bring a guest into it too.

Comedy Central is seeing this as an opportunity to showcase talent and perspectives they feel don’t get enough exposure. We’re definitely more intrigued now for The Minority Report’s premiere.

CBS Cancels The Arsenio Hall Show

Though it was slated for a second season, The Arsenio Hall Show will be no longer moving forward.

Joining in with The Pete Holmes Show, this will be the second late night talk show to be cancelled this year, on top of Chelsea Handler planning to leave Chelsea Lately this summer.

This leaves whoever is going to replace Craig Ferguson a more intriguing choice than it already is.

Adam McKay, Ruben Fleischer, and Rawson Thurber Being Considered to Replace Edgar Wright as “Ant-Man” Director

Citing creative differences, Edgar Wright has left his post as director of the upcoming Ant-Man movie from Marvel Studios. Of course, a search for his replacement has been immediately underway with the aforementioned names of Adam McKay, Ruben Fleischer, and Rawson Thurber being floated around.

Many of you probably know McKay’s filmography/Funny or Die over Fleischer’s or Thurber’s, but know that Fleischer and Thurber helmed Zombieland and Dodgeball, respectively. Wright leaving the project is sad, but we’ll be intrigued what any one of the three will do.

Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg’s Animated Comedy ‘Sausage Party’ Sets Cast/Gets Release Date

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are moving forward with their latest animated project, Sausage Party, that will indeed follow the adventures of a sausage and his search for meaning. In addition to Rogen, the voices of Kristen Wiig, Salma Hayek, Edward Norton, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd and Danny McBride will be featured in the movie as well.
We haven’t heard any changes otherwise, so Sausage Party will be an R-rated animated comedy, which will be something we haven’t seen in quite some time. It’s set for a June 3rd, 2016 release.

The Simpsons Introduce New Character In Mobile Game “Tapped Out”, But Not on TV

With a quarter of their century under their belt, The Simpsons have expanded their brand quite a bit. There’s plenty of merchandise and comic books, but a new theme park, mobile game, and more keep furthering their reach and staying power.

With that in mind, it doesn’t come as too much of surprise that they’re introducing a character on their mobile game Tapped Out rather than the actual TV show.

Kurt Braunohler Has Officially Left Chicago on a Jet Ski Bound for New Orleans

At Chicago’s Navy Pier at 7:15AM, one Kurt Braunohler has made his departure via jet ski to New Orleans. His jet ski, you should note, is pretty awesome as well as it’s 1/3 stars and stripes and 2/3 tropical floral print. He’s also wearing a tuxedo wet suit, which we didn’t realize was even a thing until we saw Kurt wear it.

He’s scheduled to arrive in New Orleans next Thurs. Jun. 5th. and you can still support Kurt’s crowdfunding project to send goats and chickens to Africa here.

Ben Kronberg Is Gaming The System on Last Comic Standing with #GoFuckYourselfBen

Last Comic Standing contestant/very funny comedian Ben Kronberg drew the ire of judge Roseanne Barr, last week, for doing his atypical routine, which involves a lot of pauses, even at the top of his set. Barr didn’t appreciate what she thought was wasting time and Kronberg engaged in a bit of back-and-forth with Barr until she told Ben, “Go fuck yourself!”

As a result, Kronberg made some lemonade and turned that incident into a very popular hashtag #GoFuckYourselfBen on Twitter, which has really worked in his favor.

Though it’s still far from actually happening, Hulu has been discussing the possibility of ordering new installments of the recently canceled series on NBC known as Community.

If this does happen, this would be pretty much record time for a series getting canceled and then brought back, especially in comparison to Arrested Development.

There’s no more need to lament the absence of Danny McBride in your life because the series finale of Eastbound and Down has passed us.

HBO has just ordered 18 episodes of Vice Principals from McBride and Hill, which is their take on being the VP in high school. Given how great Kenny Powers was as a gym teacher, we’re excited to see what they do with a vice principal character.
