Between Undateable, having his own week @midnight, his fantastic album The Funches of Us, and everything else he has going on, things are deservedly going pretty well for Ron Funches.

So, at that’s the case, Ron is living it up his way as he explains during his panel interview with Conan this week. As you might imagine, a wrestling bed is involved.

With SNL, musical specials, and now Undateable, NBC is really going for broke with these live-to-air shows.

Tonight at 8PM, things might just go really off the rails in a great way on NBC as the cast of Undateable, which includes the likes of Ron Funches, Brent Morin, Rick Glassman, Chris D’Elia, Bianca Kajlich, and David Fynn, embarks on its 3rd season completely live.

Hopefully, the cast, most of which are stand-ups, will get to get as weird as they want.

NBC Orders The Next Season of “Undateable” And All The Episodes Will Be Done Live

Apparently, NBC is really in love with doing stuff live these days.

The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, and SNL have served NBC well as live-to-air shows. Now, Undateable will join that class as the entire next season will air live. Of all the series orders and renewals that were just announced, Undateable Live is one of the most intriguing.

This should provide for plenty more hijinks from the cast and way more present laughter than canned laughter as well as encourage people to tune in primetime rather than watch it some time later.

We certainly hope that, as it’s live, Ron Funches milks every moment of great weirdness that he can.

NBC Drops Must See TV Thursday Comedy Block; Sets Hour of Multi-Cam on Tues

NBC has really stuck to the recent philosophy posed by their chairman Bob Greenblatt who said that the network had a “very drama-heavy midseason schedule” when asked about selling Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to Netflix.

Since the early 90s, NBC had their Must See TV comedy block scheduled in stone that saw the likes of Seinfeld, Friends, Will & Grace, The Office, Parks and Recreation, and more air in primetime. Now, as a sign of the times, they have dropped Must See TV altogether and made a comedy block of multi-cam sitcoms Undateable and One Big Happy set for Tues. in 2015.

With this big programming shift, we’d be curious to see what percent of the entire viewing audience of any of NBC’s comedies over the last year watched the show live versus on an online streaming service, legal and illegal, of some kind on their own time.

After the cancellation streak NBC had several weeks ago, Undateable comes through to get a 2nd season.

So, you’ll get to see more of Brent Morin, Rick Glassman, Ron Funches (who you might remember from his Tonight Show set earlier today), and Chris D’Elia on your TV and the side of your local buses.

Ron Funches, Chris D’Elia, Brent Morin, and Rick Glassman will have a network TV debut as a cast together tonight on NBC. Bill Lawrence‘s Undateable, which they all star in, premieres tonight at 9PM.

Our prediction is that there will be plenty of .gifs made from Ron Funches quotes from this show.
