Will Ferrell to Star in ‘Match Maker’ Based on Bobby Riggs vs. Billie Jean King
One of the most talked about sporting events in history, The Battle of The Sexes, a tennis match in 1973 between men’s tennis star Bobby Riggs and women’s tennis star Billy Jean King is getting a movie adaptation and Will Ferrell is starring.
Remove the mustache, the burgundy suit, and add a tennis racket and we can definitely see Ferrell in this.
Alison Brie has already captured our collective attention as Annie Edison on Community and Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, but she is on her way to having a banner year with three projects she’s set in motion.
So far, she’s going to co-star with Adam Scott in Sleeping With Other People, joining the cast of Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart’s Get Hard, and also producing her own comedy pilot Teachers at TV Land.
This is only 3 months in to 2014, so who knows how much higher she’ll go.
’@midnight with Chris Hardwick’ has been doing so well that they’re getting a daytime spin-off series called “@midday” on the OWN Network hosted by Hardwick doppelganger Chad Softwick.
It’s either that or Will Ferrell wanted do something pretty damn great on ’@midnight’ last night. Watch it here.
Will Ferrell Will Go Against Red Hot Chili Peppers Drummer Chad Smith in Drum Battle
Because enough money, specifically over $300,000, was raised for the Cancer for College charity, Will Ferrell will make good on a promise to battle the drummer for The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chad Smith.
Hopefully, Will will duel with several cowbells.
Also, it would seem that Ferrell could raise plenty of money for charity if he did a tour of publicity stunts like this one.
We shouldn’t have to give you much more explanation than what it’s in the headline. Will Ferrell + faux figure skating + Downton Abbey theme = you watching ASAP.

Krysten Ritter Joining NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Mission Control’ from Will Ferrell
On both counts of Will Ferrell having an astronaut comedy pilot at NBC and Krysten Ritter joining the case, we’re hoping to see what will come of this as a series, especially since it has an element of Anchorman set in the arena of a space program.

NBC latest addition to their development slate this pilot season is Mission Control from Will Ferrell & Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions that’s something like an Anchorman set at NASA and Love is Relative from Borat’s Dan Mazer.
There’s lots of interesting stuff that we’d like to some series from.
While on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Will Ferrell broke down his trailblazing promotional tour for Anchorman 2 and basically what he got away with doing over the last few months like doing actual news, color commentating on curling, etc.

Ron Burgundy to Call Pro Curling Event
Though plenty of people will be seeing Anchorman 2 next month, Will Ferrell and co. are putting on a marketing blitz to remember.
Having already released a memoir, sang a campaign song for Toronto’s Mayor Rob Ford, single handedly spearhead a campaign for the new Dodge Durango, something tell us that Will Ferrell almost enjoys doing publicity stunts as much as making the Anchorman sequel.
With that being said, we hope he makes fun of the sport of curling the whole time he’s an official color commentator.

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly Together Again in ‘Devil’s Night’
Basically, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are going to do a Halloween movie and that’s good enough for us.
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s production company Gary Sanchez is filling out their cast with Jason Sudeikis and the already cast Kirsten Dunst for one of their latest feature projects “Sleeping With Other People”, which based off the premise, would be the way that Ferrell and McKay would make a romantic comedy.
Keep an eye out for this one as it might just turn out to be a nice indie rom com.

The Final Episode of ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ to Air February 6, 2014
So, as it stands right now, on Feb. 6th next year, Jay Leno will step down from The Tonight Show, then The Tonight Show will move to New York City with its new host Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers will take the reins to Late Night.
While that might seem momentous, don’t forget that The Arsenio Hall Show is coming back, Chris Hardwick is doing a late night talk show of sorts for Comedy Central, USA is developing a late night talk show with Will Ferrell, and Pete Holmes will be following Conan on TBS later this year.
Basically, late night’s going to get a whole lot more exciting really soon.
Kristen Wiig to Team Up Again with Will Ferrell in Dark Comedy Feature
Adding to Anchorman 2 and the upcoming IFC mini-series Spoils of Babylon, Kristen Wiig is joining the cast of another Will Ferrell project. It’s a dark comedy, which should be expected from the likes of both Ferrell and Wiig, but we’re excited anyway to see what comes from three collaborations in one year.

All the promotion for the upcoming sequel to Anchorman, Anchorman 2 has been the goofy fun we’ve come to know and love and hasn’t really even shown any of the movie yet.
